PattyG - can I nominate this as the quote of the day. It is a very busy jail from what I have seen ... extremely busy. They are probably still trying to figure out the charges and hasn't even been brought to the point of "waiting to be charged".

I think LE seems to be doing an AMAZING job so far.

I just have to say this. People, if your child is ever missing, your life becomes an open book. Be forthcoming, don't lie to cover your butt for ANY reason. Answer whatever they ask truthfully. If you were too busy doin the pizza delivery guy to notice what time the child went missing, say so, if you were doing drugs, say so, if you left your child home alone ..............say so! :banghead: Don't turn around later and blame LE for failing to believe it was an abduction.

Watching the video, it struck me as an odd way to "handle' a suspect. They didn't seem to be worried about her taking off or being a danger.

True that. I just put in the date 12/20/2010. Two pages worth of arrests, from possession of drugs, to DUI's, assault of family members, to fabricating evidence.

It makes my head spin.

JMO but I think the most telling thing is the article that tehcloser posted. In that article it clearly states that LE used cameras from Rolled Alloys (the business near where the body was found) that LE reviewed the camera footage and shortly AFTER their review impounded and towed stepfather's vehicle. To me that is very telling, suspicious and doesn't bode well for stepfather. But it is just my opinion. It could also explain why the mother made what appear to be untruthful statements to LE. Add that to the fact that mom and stepdad were having marital problems...PLUS, Jonathan had not been living with bio-mom most of his life until a month ago, and poof, like another poster says, he just vanishes and is likely deceased. This all adds up to Bad...JMO.

UPDATE: A close family friend has been arrested and is expected to be charged with the kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Jonathan Foster, a police source close to the investigation said today.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was arrested this morning at her home, the source said.
A break in the case came when a vehicle that "was very identifiable as her vehicle" was spotted on surveillance video taken from an office building near the ditch where a body believed to be Jonathan’s was found in the 9900 block of East Hardy on Tuesday.

Like maybe the child was a thorn in step dad's side and had him disappear.

Who knows ???? This case, and all the misinformation,all the contradictions, the speed at which news developed... has been mind boggling.

TY for the link, Nums. It makes it a little clearer why the parents were not forthcoming-I cannot speak for TX, but in my state it is legal to be a "latch-key" child at 12. In that you can be left home alone for a period of time. But they may have not known, or they knew how people would feel about a 12 year old being alone on Christmas Eve.

Good lord, why??? WHY would a woman do this to a child?? A close family friend to whom, the mom or the stepfather? Is this woman separate from the "babysitter" that was reportedly used sometimes, just not on the day of the abduction? If she's a close family friend, why wouldn't she know that Angela is the mom? I can believe someone of her appearance having a raspy voice - is this the woman on the phone?

Waiting for them to send us answers. How horrible!!
