So he walked through someone's yard and they freaked out because he's black and they beat him to death? Wow.

Sadly, that is what has been reported.

This is one of those deaths that just makes me feel like "I just can't anymore..."

Some of the people who allegedly beat him were black. There has been nothing that I have seen that indicates that his race had anything to do with this.

Thank you for reminding us of this fact. I sometimes develope some kind of tunnel vision:oops:. What is bothering me so much is that there is allegedly a group of people (a HUGE football player included) who is chasing and beating up one individual. My thought is that those guys killed Jordan accidently and dumped him in the lake. But the investigation is ongoing and I hope there will be justice for Jordan. Jmo

UPDATE: November Death of Jordan Davenport Ruled a Suicide

There have been no news articles following this case since Jordan’s death back in November. Given the known circumstances in the case, it’s quite baffling that Jordan’s manner of death was ruled a suicide. First some background:

According to an article form KTRV Channel 13, Jordan escorted a friend home in the Towne Lake neighborhood after a Halloween party. From there, Jordan somehow ended up in a physical altercation with two men (According to TMZ - one being an NFL free agent Khalif Barnes) after accessing the backyard of Scott Montgomery in a gated section of the Towne Lake community.

From there, things went south quickly. According to a now deleted Facebook post from Montgomery’s wife, Khalif and Scott chased and “beat down” Jordan after “pleading” to the men that his friend had dropped him off. According to an article from KTRK Channel 13, he was then chased to a bridge where they lost sight of Jordan.

Now according to an autopsy report released to the public last week, Jordan was seen jumping from the bridge into the water with no other persons in the vicinity via surveille video from a nearby address. The report concluded that Jordan’s cause of death was drowning and the manner of death was suicide. Jordan’s head had two large lacerations which could possibly be linked to this altercation.

Given these circumstances, does this look like a guy that was trying to kill himself or to evade his attackers? If anyone has any further information on this, let me know. Media has gone silent.

From the article: “That same night, residents reported a suspicious person matching Davenport's description in their backyard. They told investigators they chased him to a bridge and lost sight of him.”

Wow, just wow! Even if not a homicide, I don’t know how they could rule it a suicide. If you are being chased and jump from a bridge to get away, that seems like an accident if nothing else. JMO

Death of man whose body found in Cypress lake ruled a suicide

From the article :

According to the autopsy report, Davenport was intoxicated and surveillance video captured him "jumping" into the water.

Well, he was being chased by some big guys, so maybe he thought he had no other choice?!
I am still baffled by this ruling, sorry!

This is so wrong on so many levels. From news reports, the victim said “his boy just dropped him off” (appears lost/trying to get home after a party). He approaches homeowners who are in their yard at the time. He is not threatening, doesn’t display a weapon, appears to need help. But instead, the women scream hysterically and an ex-NFL offensive linesman/husband tackles and brutally beats him, then chases him to try to beat him again - all at 1:20 am without provocation. Victim is a regular/slim 5’5” guy, attacker is 6’6” 320 lb pro football player. Victim ends up dead and it’s ruled a suicide? Come on, that’s just crazy stupid!

MOO, but if the attacker wasn’t an ex-NFL player, he’d be facing serious charges. Instead, he walks free and is cleared by LE. Smh, this is just crazy.

Welcome UnsolvvedCrime, thank you for informing us about Darnell’s case.

I am flagging this post for a moderator to please review in order to see if it can be re-assigned to the Located Forum where it will get much more views.

Some initial questions:

What was his job/occupation to which he didn’t return?

(ETA:
“They tell us when he did not show up for work at an AT&T store Monday they knew something was wrong.”

There is no case. They ruled his death a suicide.

Wow...like many of you, very surprised...

“Wednesday, February 13, 2019
CYPRESS, Texas (KTRK) -- The death of Jordan Davenport, whose body was found in a Cypress area pond shortly after he was reported missing last October, was ruled a suicide, according to the medical examiner's office.

On Wednesday, the Harris County Sheriff's Office added that it "conducted a thorough investigation" into the passing of the 29-year-old father of three children.

"Based on the evidence, investigators do not believe Mr. Davenport's death resulted from foul play," the statement concluded.”
