he was NOT shot in the mouth

Yep. Many old posts become moot when new/better/verified info becomes available. I guess you haven't come across the half dozen or so related posts I wrote after that one, eh?

I’m waiting for credible information to come out before I form an opinion.

Well, it used to be frowned on here to make a statement to the effect that, for example, this was essentially a revenge hit on JB by the DPD without any supporting evidence whatsoever. The Mods used to come down very hard on that kind of speculation.

if you think a post violates TOS, alert a mod and they will take care of it

Judge says she couldn't refuse convicted ex-cop a hug

Kemp walked over to the defense table to speak with Guyger, who she said went through a “marked change” after the verdict.

Kemp said that Guyger asked twice if she could hug her as well and, after a moment’s hesitation, the judge wrapped her arms around the former police officer.

“Following my own convictions, I could not refuse that woman a hug. I would not,” said Kemp, who is black. “And I don’t understand the anger. And I guess I could say if you profess religious beliefs and you are going to follow them, I would hope that they not be situational and limited to one race only.”

Kemp defended her actions as appropriate Monday, saying they took place after the legal proceeding was over and were not part of the official trial record.

“I didn’t do that from the bench,” she said. “I came down to extend my condolences to the Jean family and to encourage Ms. Guyger because has a lot of life to live.”

Lol. Kemp found it surprising Guyger underwent a "marked change" between verdict and sentencing? Oh my.

And Guyger asked for a hug-twice- from the judge who just presided over her murder trial? I'm sorry, but really, what gall. As was Guyger asking Kemp if God would forgive her and telling Kemp she didn't have a Bible.

Sounds to me like Kemp got played, frankly, and her explanations make that point, rather than the one she intended. jmo.

I'm not going to play mod, but I thought I had only seen people stating that the DPD's involvement was their opinion only. If a poster implied it was fact, then I still read the post as an opinion (especially since there's not one post in this thread providing any sort of MSM link stating otherwise).

Some people read a thread from the start and reply when they see something they want to reply to. Perhaps the person didn't even see your corrected posts yet.

Everything is slowed down... Searched google and all the #s though I had to stop last night cos the posts were so outrageous... making no sense at all.
No new info to be found and tempers are frayed everywhere..
By now one could expect a glut of mobile footage to be made public.. I found no such thing..
I'm not even sure how many shots were 'multiple' whether that meant 2 or 10, type of weapon used or
bullets...
I suppose we just gotta await the ME autopsy report...
I'm worried that a change of investigating agency will slow down the chase- too much.
It's 48 hrs now though?
That's probably enough time to scan all the cameras in the area...
Fingers X'd but heart in gob.

LBM

Agreed.
Also working the compassion angle (AG) and she'll probably hope for an earlier release.

She would not even provide and medical assistance to Botham as he lay dying.
Someone like that is cold and dead inside.

I've seen some posts that stated, and I paraphrase: Who else besides LE would be responsible or take JB phone and wallet? I don't think the popular IMO, JMO or MOO was included on all of them. I really don't mind. I do the same as you: take it as an opinion, not demand if they have some secret info nobody else has.

I saw it that way too, she practically ran to embrace Brandt, I believe she broke then.
The killing didn't break her, the evidence didn't break her but Brandt's words did.
She wouldn't have had enough time to revert from broken to clammed by the time the Judge hugged her..
IMO.
(I hope)

WOW! A change between the verdict and the sentencing. I wonder who will play AG in the Lifetime movie.

Latest NBC report.
Only shred of new info is that police found him, still alive, on the steps and he was immediately rushed to hospital
NBC News NOW on Twitter

I'm wondering where steps are in relation to where his car was parked?
If this is accurate it means reports saying he was just getting out of his car when shot must be inaccurate?
This is really confusing, isn't it?

Brown had three children — a six year old and two toddlers — according to his father.

"He was moving on with his life," Harold Brown told NPR, recalling a conversation he had with his son after the court testimony. He said he has been in touch with authorities investigating his son's death.

"I just hope they figure it out," Brown said in an interview.

Harold Brown said he has no idea whether his son's death was related to the shooting he was involved in at the club last year, or somehow connected to his court testimony, but the last he heard from Dallas police indicated that investigators were fielding an outpouring of tips.

"They said people have been talking who know stuff," Brown said. "So I really hope they know something that will help."

What we don’t know:
Who killed Brown, and why

So far, police have made no arrests in Brown’s death.

Investigators also don’t know what the motive was, Dallas Police Chief U. Renee Hall said.

Authorities haven’t said whether Brown’s death has any connection to his testimony in the Guyger trial.

Whether the killing was connected to the last time Brown was shot

Brown had survived a shooting almost a year before his death, Merritt said.

He was shot near a strip club in Dallas in November 2018, Merritt said.

Brown and his family believed he was targeted in that shooting by someone he knew and had grown up with.

Another man, Nicholas Shaquan Diggs, was killed in the shooting, Merritt said.

After Brown was shot last year, “he was concerned that that person might try to come back and finish the job,” Merritt said.

The gunman in that shooting has not yet been arrested.

this, like almost all of the sparse incoming info is #MerritSays
I'll just have to bite the bullet with it as there are so few sources of info

Both Brown and his family believed he was targeted in that shooting by someone he knew and had grown up with.

“And he was concerned that that person might try to come back and finish the job,” Merritt said, adding that the shooter in that case hasn’t been caught.

Relatives of the person who was killed, Nicholas Shaquan Diggs, blamed Brown for his death, according to Merritt. He said they “promised retribution,” but he did not say who told him so.

Brown moved out of South Side Flats about three months after Jean was killed in September 2018, according to Merritt. He tried to keep a “low profile intentionally until some of the heat from the shooting in November passed over,” Merritt added

So, if he was targeted this means another possible suspect, if Merritt is accurate?

I'm very curious if police know who it is or if he was not identified at all, by jb or any if the others there. Strange if he was well known by jb and jb was scared he was going to come back after him why no name was released.

Let me know if I got it right. Brown could be worried about the person that shot him but was more worried about the family of the person killed because they thought he ( Brown ) was the cause of their relatives death.

not sure it was weighted towards more, thought more like equal.
But the truth might not be there either...
