You will not get anything from any form of law enforcement I assure you. Absolutely nothing. And IMO for a case to be dang near 50 years old it’s far past time to get some outside eyes on it. JmoHas anyone tried to get LE documents via FOIA requests for this case? I guess the chances are slim since this is technically an open case, but maybe worth a try?!
I know you are beyond exhausted after that. Thank you for your work moderating this.Only a couple of months. I’ve read every post on these girls’ threads though.![]()
Thanks and Happy New Year!I can’t recall if I posted the new progressions here or not so I am now. Please share wherever you can. Thank you and y’all have a very happy new year!!! Thank each and every person that helps advance this case in any way.
Have you seen this child? Lisa Wilson
He was friends with the girls and is not a suspect. Renee's brother Terry was friends with him as well. (CFJ is now deceased.)Can someone fill me in on "California Jacket Guy" please? I understand he was seen following the girls at the mall that day. I've combed the previous threads and he gets mentioned sporadically but there's no comprehensive insight.
Who was he? Was he cleared as a suspect? Did he know them?
I definitely have a lot of questions around California jacket guy myself. I don’t see how anyone that has seen what I’ve seen would not. Tommy had absolutely nothing to do with his leaving town as far as I’m aware. I’m not even sure if he knew who he was. That’s a very tangled web right there. He was friends with the girls and is not a suspect. Renee's brother Terry was friends with him as well. (CFJ is now deceased.)
The thinking is that he was with the girls because he liked Renee but that TT was extremely jealous over the possibility of Rachel spending time with him.
The word on the street is that CFJ was so terrified of TT after the girls disappeared that he left the state.
California Jacket guy is the same person as "Virgil" on the Gone cold podcast, right?! Im very curious about him as well.
Thanks for all the input guys, I just discovered this case last week. Your knowledge is much appreciated.
That was my understanding from listening to thar podcast, also.
If I have it correct, according to the podcast he was at the Moseley house that morning of the 23rd and also with the girls at the Mall a bit later, as the podcast seemed to think that the Record Store sighting was legit.
It did not explain how he got to the Mall or back home from the Mall.
If he was at the Moseley house at the time, would it not make sense that he went to the Mall in the Oldsmobile with the girls ? It would explain why Julie was not seen in the Army/Navy store. Perhaps, she was waiting in the car with him, while the other two girls collected their jeans ?
If they gave him a lift back home, it rules an abduction or any other incident at the Mall, only unless he was responsible for their disappearance. However, I think this is unlikely.
I would like to know more about his movements that day, though !!
I totally agree. This is where the GC podcast leaves a lot to be desired IMO as it only deals with CJG in passing in favor of way more unlikely angles. After all the question if the girls made it to the mall at all is one if the crucial issues in this case and CJG is right in the middle of this with the supposed Record store sighting. Plus the alledged fling he had with Rachel.
I thought that they had narrowed it fewer than five—which could mean five or fewer if they weren't careful about their wording. It could also mean that there was actually only one suspect. The letter is extremely intriguing.
As I understand results have been inconclusive regarding the author...I find this very strange. Don't they have samples of writing to definitely rule out authors? I'm also confused about the "cancelled stamp". Did the letter travel through the postal system or not? Because if someone just went and left it inside the mail box, it's a bit less baffling.
Apparently Rachel was misspelled at first...this is why I find it hard to believe Rachel wrote the letter, even under stress, who would write their own name wrong?
I also read that in 2001 police had "narrowed down the list of suspects to only 5"
Wonder who those 5 might be...
