How in tarnation is the driver of the getaway car not an accomplice?
Another guess here.
Maybe LE is saying this so as to not spook the person into running.
Maybe the witnesses saw it wrong.
Maybe the accomplice helped, but didn't get into the car .. just blended into the crowd and/or walked away.

I think the true story will come out soon. NG will surely get us the "true" story, won't she?

Has Verna's fiance been interviewed, or was it mentioned that she told fiancé she had a baby?

All that I heard was she told her fiancé that she had the baby.

Wait, who was the man in the car with her?! and where is he?!?

I had a C-section and vaginal birth and I thought both times I was told not to drive for a while...I know I wasn't driving in 3 days though..

I was told not to drive for awhile after giving birth. My deliveries were all vaginal with no meds, and I felt so good afterwards that I DID drive. My hubby worked away from home for three weeks out of every month, so it was a necessity.

This lady is an idiot. She told her sister she was adopting a baby. Isn't everyone around her going to put two and two together when a mother is shot, a baby is kidnapped, and this woman suddenly has a brand new (white) baby?? Duh.

I know! And she just coincidentally has access to a Lexus that is the right color and has the right license plate number. She might be a LVN, but she doesn't sound very smart.

I just clicked it on and it is working. Try clicking on the title of the video rather than clicking play.

Tried that a couple of times and again just now, still getting the same message saying Publishing in progress, maybe it has to do with my settings or something.

my youngest is just 7 months old...had a c-section, I also drove within days after giving birth, my husband works early and I had to drive the older kids to school....!

Which leads the way to an insanity defense I'll bet.

This article says that Verna actually called the police herself to report that she was associated with the vehicle used in the crime but had nothing to do with the crime herself. Then when she was interviewed, her story fell apart and she confessed!

So she was going to claim to her sister that she had adopted this baby but was going to tell her fiance that she had just given birth??? And the sister wouldn't think it was weird that she just had a miscarriage but then suddenly popped up with an adopted baby?

Nope. All I see is a video about someone's grandma.

OK thanks. That video is of my dog and my elderly neighbor who passed away.

Nope, it doesn't work. Comes up to a Grandma D... video link.

Has she been pretending to be pregnant? Did she tell her sister she lost the baby, but would be adopting one, and to keep it a secret?

“I don’t understand that, her taking a child,” her estranged husband, Theo McClain of San Diego, told The Associated Press. The couple had two children together and raised a third from a previous relationship of his.
“That doesn’t make sense. We have three kids. And then to shoot somebody? I’ve never known her to hurt anybody.”

Schuchardt told the AP that officials were initially concerned about his criminal record, which includes felony convictions for possession of a controlled substance and burglary of a coin-operated machine.

Golden’s mother, Linda Golden, told the AP that she had been baby-sitting when someone at the scene called her using her daughter’s cellphone. She rushed to the clinic but was unable to see her daughter because paramedics were trying to save her.
“I wanted to kiss her before they put her in the ambulance,” Linda Golden said.

Wow.

If she is telling the truth that she had a miscarriage, I bet she will try a mental illness defense, claiming some kind of postpartum depression/psychosis.

Me too...
