You're so right, S-Night. Who can see that coming? And from what I read here, the 17 y/o cousin hasn't been over here very long.

Thanks for doing the homework related to RSO's, and crime stats. Convoluted -- yes -- I was looking for the number of murders last year in a city 30 miles from where I live, and the figures were convoluted as well. I finally found what I wanted, but it tired me out while looking, looking, looking.

We should learn more as we move along...

Good to "see" you again!

Born...teach me how to quote a partial of a post lol.
Anyway-back to checking crime reports. The city I live in has an Incident Report Database wherein one can check within days/weeks/months etc what particular crimes were committed in any zip, address, type of crime etc. I was trying to check if there had been any sexual assault type crimes committed in that Dallas Beat before this past Saturday. Just in case. I am surprised Dallas isn't more organized that way. Guess I'll give it up and tell where I live-Austin Tx. Here is the APD Incident Report Database. Some of you reading here may have offspring down here attending UT.

I'm guessing your hackles rose too when you heard "older cousin."

Poor little Katherine, she just turned five. I can't even begin to imagine the horror she went through at the hands of someone she trusted and probably loved.

ETA: Police did say that while Sanches-Zenteno was with family at the apartment complex, he was not babysitting the little girl.

Sadly, MsMarple, yes. My hinky meter went sky high.

We have lost so many little girls to young 'men'. I just can't process it. Like many of you, it is really bringing me down. I just don't understand it, at all.

this is for carbuff:
tonight I sent a friend of mine to the local dollar store. I instructed him to buy some bi-lingual coloring books for a 3-5 year old person. My friend is mentally challenged-he called me from the store-said there were no coloring books in Spanish. So I asked him to get some books about animals, numbers, letters so forth. He complied and came back with wonderful books-4 of them and also crayons and a gift bag. We put the bag on our neighbors door. The neighbors child is enthralled with my friends cat. The child is about 3 or 4. Spanish speaking parents.
For 6 dollars we showed some love for a child and some encouragement to parents who may not feel they fit in in an English-speaking country.
carbuff-someone around you needs you-you are so special and you can help them.
I guess what I am trying to say is in order to not succumb to despair in this world over the evil-do something good and keep being true to yourself. It's a matter of balance-sheer balance and eyes up.

The area of Dallas where this took place is pretty bad....

Is there a photo of the new little angel?

I haven't seen one-don't know if I could bear it. Caring question-thanks for posting that.

Fly high and free, sweet little Kathrine. I wish I knew what your bright, shiny face looked like.

Why? Why did he kill her.

If we find out that he raped her- I'm going to hurl.

No wonder his mug shot looked like it is-he is cold, evil.......what kind of a monster does this-someone who is used to killing. A killing machine who needs further kicks.

5 years old she was.

FIVE years old.

Is there a photo of the new little angel?

I've been looking for one from a source that complies with TOS. All the ones I've seen are on personal FB pages.

How sickening....there is so much I want to say, but doesn't matter. A sweet, innocent, tiny little girl is dead. Now, all attention will be on her alleged killer. And, as a citizen of the state of Texas, I am obligated to pay for his legal fees, housing, food, etc. for the rest of his life. If he's convicted.
I am in Texas too Amster. I am trying to keep a level head here. If this perp said there is someone else involved I am sure the Texas Rangers will follow up on it. It seems to me from what he looks like in his mug and his statements to LE that he may have been involved with some kind of criminal influence in his past. This is very frightening to me as a Texan. We have a lot of border jumpers.

Believe me folks-I am holding back. It is one thing (jeez) to rape and murder....but to HANG a 5 year old child????

I'm not so depressed anymore-putting armour in place going forward

I hope the FBI is involved. This is a heinous crime with international circumstances.

Angel Sanches told Dallas police that he is an "accomplice" but did not kill his young cousin after the little girl's body "was found hanging in a closet by a shirt around her neck," according to his arrest warrant obtained by News 8.

"I did not rape her," Sanches said in Spanish after agreeing to speak to detectives at Dallas police headquarters.

But Sanches denied to detectives he harmed the girl, according to the warrant, and instead blamed someone he only identified as "Carlos."
