It's possible they used her because they needed her apartment to make the dabs. Maybe no parents were home and it was the perfect place for him/her to make them. Do we know how old Source 1 is?

This is only a guess, but since he was living with his mom, I'm assuming he is a teenager. I could be completely wrong because the only thing I've been correct about so far is that I did believe Bedford PD had a suspect early on & were just gathering evidence. Then as the case dragged on, I was beginning to have doubts about that. Don't think I have much talent for sleuthing.

Umm.. where were this kids parents? Blood splatter all over, there's no way he cleaned up enough for them not notice.. how do you explain that?

Good question.

We don't have any detail on how much blood spatter remained. My guess is that a hasty cleanup job was done, and a few spots remained in places that were difficult to see until you look closely or with a flashlight or luminol. JMO.

Random speculation.. what if KC/Source1 had no experience actually making dabs, got the weed, and tried to make dabs but failed. If they did it wrong could they end up basically ruining all the weed? Maybe KC was going to break that news to the perp and Source1 tagged along knowing the perp would likely get angry about this..

Wow. I'm so glad there has been an arrest.
Im stunned that all players are young kids. Ugh! What is going on here?
I hope Kaytlynn gets justice.

I assumed he is a teenager. Just wondering if he's closer in age to the suspect or Kaytlynn.

I recall reading that the police found blood in the apt on June 25th?? Surely that's wrong?? If june 25th they found blood then why wasn't arrest made sooner? Also, I read that the person with the dog was the suspect's brother?? That makes no sense either since other reports saying suspect didn't want the other person around.

Do we have the perp's name? Surprised that with a crime like this we aren't getting a name even though he's 16 - especially in Texas

Here I go again guessing............probably nearer the age of suspect.

I think the person with the dog was a friend of the suspect, not a brother.

Fox news released the name of the suspect, Jordin Roache. I'm not sure how they got the name or if they were supposed to release it. Hope the release of the name doesn't cause any problems.

I think there is a possibility that Source #1 is a step brother or half brother of the suspect. It was said that Source #1 and suspect used to live in the same household, but suspect was asked to leave because he was bad influence on the children.

That sounds to me like something a parent might say about the oldest son, if he was acting out, doing drugs, etc. I think the suspect was asked to leave home and moved in with girlfriend's family, maybe in the same complex ?

<modsnip> It appears to me that this was a calculated act and not just a spontaneous reaction. Either way, this was a brutal killing of a 14 yo child and all involved should be tried as adults and, if convicted, maximum sentences enforced. Only positive in all this is that it occurred in Texas. If convicted, they should go to the head of the line.
I normally leave some leeway on these cases but this treatment of a child, as with the innocent young 13 yo girl murdered in Dallas over drugs has flipped my switch. These were just children, for God's sake.
All of the Above is Just My Opinion! Peace.

Could have gone something like this- source 1 says, hey Kaytlynn you want to make a lot of money? J says he needs someone to convert some pot to dabs. Nobody is home at your apartment right? So we can go there and I'll show you how to make it and we can make a quick $300 to split. Let me see your phone and I'll shoot J a text to let him know.

There were other older persons in the apartment, an uncle I think. Is it possible anyone else was also involved and, also could they be giving the 16 yo suspect up to(1) cover for themselves and (2) because of his age, they think he will be judged less harshly (lesser sentence). I'm not saying he isn't involved or is the only actual person responsible, but questioning if others could be just as responsible. JMO, but as a resident of Texas I just want to say that there are way too many soft hearted juvenile judges in Texas. I know that they're just trying to salvage kids but in this day & age there are just so many who are not salvageable. Very sad but true IMO. Just to be perfectly clear, although I am a resident of Texas, I strongly disapprove of the death penalty. Life without parole suits me just fine!

I'm sure there might be others, however I do think most are young ones. Having an almost 13 year old this is terrifying. I'm considering changing careers but I'm so glad I'm at school with my kids on a daily basis. Cases like these makes me want to get jobs where my kids are. Just to keep an eye on them. Yes, I'm the stalker momma

Finding blood in the apartment doesn't mean its victim's blood. Blood by itself doesn't prove that victim was killed there, because it could be anybody's blood (in theory) until DNA verifies whose blood it is. They had to send blood for forensic testing.

Regarding the young ages of the alleged suspect and the victim in this case (and some others in WS threads),-- are we seeing more murders perpetrated by minors or is it making news outside of local areas more often?
The motives have varied from theft of bicycle parts; drugs; fantasy re-enactment (Slenderman murder) to just a desire to know what it felt like to kill someone.
Is there really a growing disregard for the value of human life in our youth of today or are we just hearing more news reports of these events that are/were happening everywhere all along?

In my teen years in the 1950s none of my friends even thought about killing anyone. We were all about having fun!

Suspect and K are only 2 years apart.

Right. I'm just wondering if source 1 is also 16 or at least in high school. Although she was 14, Kaytlynn was only in 7th grade. My 16 year old is a junior in high school. Big difference.

I am ready to dodge tomatoes, after saying this----:tomato: ---- But I do believe that the heavy influence of bloody video games and R-rated violence and gore and 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the internet, have a terrible effect upon young kids today.

When I was 14, back in the dinosaur age, my brothers were thrilled by seeing National Geographic for a few glimpses. And when they found Dad's Playboy magazines, they thought they would die out of shock and bliss. And these would not even get a glance by teens today.

These days they see full on sexual acts, some violent, in many different ways---mostly by computer or video.
