I know we are all hopeful that he will be tried as an adult. I understand TX does not mess around with any murderers. I do not think any information has been released by the prosecutor's office. So we're still waiting to hear how the process is coming along. I would say IMO they are doing everything by the proverbial book. And, they will get it RIGHT the first time.
I should also hope that Kaytlynn's family keeps their beautiful child in the public's minds. She was going to be a bright star someday, in my dreams for her. Exactly like the dreams I have for my own children. Who both are now engaged. I even have a grandson (my son, and his fiancee) who is adorable. I know we all think that for our children. At least those of us who truly adore our children. They are the future of our world. And I wish everyone on this planet understood that.
Sorry, a little O/T but trying to show we all get one chance. One mind. One body. Young Kaytlynn became an angel (or whatever happens when we die) at the age of 14. 14 years of a life that could have possibly gone to 115 years. Our children will witness those next 100 years. This child will not.
That is an injustice that our world should not have to deal with. In a perfect world, we would ensure our bad humans could be institutionalized, before becoming dangerous. We all know they are out there. Doing things just like this to our young, our vulnerable, and anyone these monsters deem as 'theirs'. To decide life, or death, on another human being. This is all IMO JMO IMHO and O/T again. I'm just anguished over any of our victims, missing, or found, out in the world.

I do not believe there has been anything at all new regarding Kaytlynn's case.
This Sherin case is heartbreaking. I do not have words at this time.

Finally some more news on this case. I'm extremely unhappy that even if the perp is tried as an adult, he cannot be sentenced to Life Without Parole because of his age. I am anti death penalty but he needs to be locked away forever!! Maybe he can be sentenced to 500 years in prison.

Life without parole is as dehumanizing as death itself, and in some ways it is even worse.

rocket, I am sorry about your friend. I don't know what your friend did but the creep that killed Kaytlynn deserves a sentence that will keep him from killing others, JMO. I don't want him out on the streets where he can kill someone else's little child.
This boy has shown a pattern of abuse toward others. Killing Kaytlynn, a non threatening 14 year old girl, with a hammer, was an escalation. I'm all for hoping that people can change, but sadly, I've had to come to terms that most bad people, don't. I hope this boy can understand what he's taken away from Kaytlynn & her family, along with his own.

You could look it up on Tarrant County if he were an adult. Him being held in the Juvenile system makes access to records/updates difficult to come by.

Adult Certification hearing for suspect to be held December 20, 2017. I am so happy to see some movement in this case. I had begun to think that it was stalled forever. JMO, but Lady Justice is far too slow sometimes. Now we all just need to hope & pray that the suspect is certified as an adult so he can be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
