Ok for the science geeks out there:

In our latest peer-reviewed publication, we analyzed a massive dataset examining SNP sequencing performance from skeletal remains. SNP profile completeness is driven primarily by the proportion of endogenous human DNA relative to background DNA, not by the classical degradation metrics developed for STR testing. Among samples that met a minimal human DNA threshold, more than 95 percent generated usable SNP profiles.

Advancing the scientific foundation of forensic genomics is a core objective at Othram. That's how we get more cases solved.

In a massive study of SNP profiling from skeletal remains, we find the profile completeness is strongly associated with human:non-human DNA ratio, whereas classical STR-derived metrics show little predictive value.

"This investigation led to the positive identification of the child's mother, who is now known to be Cathy McKee. McKee, now 69, was recently arrested and charged with felony concealing the birth of a child. In 1979, McKee would have been about 22 years old."
