In our latest peer-reviewed publication, we analyzed a massive dataset examining SNP sequencing performance from skeletal remains. SNP profile completeness is driven primarily by the proportion of endogenous human DNA relative to background DNA, not by the classical degradation metrics developed for STR testing. Among samples that met a minimal human DNA threshold, more than 95 percent generated usable SNP profiles.

Advancing the scientific foundation of forensic genomics is a core objective at Othram. That's how we get more cases solved.

After 21 years, a suspect in a 2005 Valley County, Idaho sexual assault has been identified by the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho State Police Forensic Services, and Othram. Last year, the rape clearance rate was just 27%. That must change.
