Their community is offering the huge reward money, right?
Yes, but that was offered in the very beginning. Nothing new. Just seems there is no movement at all. Of course we don't know everything that's going on.

A sizable sum as well. In addition, I saw their community out searching with great vigor. Seems to me they jumped right in.

Amateur opinion and speculation
Is that recent searches? I'm glad if they are new ones. I had not seen any reported for awhile. I knew the citizens were searching, but other than dad and a few other men I didn't know there were that many on the searches from their community. Thanks for the update.

Exclusive: Search for missing 3 year-old goes to Fredericksburg after tip comes in | KABB (foxsanantonio.com)
The search on Wednesday night for missing 3-year-old Afghani girl, Lina Khil, led local agents and DPS troopers to an area near Cross Mountain Park in Fredericksburg. The tips came into Lina’s family and to Eagle’s Flight, the non-profit who helps families in crisis.

On Thursday morning after not hearing from authorities, Lina’s father along with Pamela Allen from the non-profit agency drove to Fredericksburg with a small search group. Neighbors near the park confirmed seeing DPS troopers and local officers in the area. They also questioned neighbors for a few hours.

ADMIN NOTE:

The Chief isn't on trial for his language skills and critiquing him in that respect is not productive in helping find Lina.

Some posts have been removed. Please move on from that discussion.

Thanks.

This post lands at random.

FWIW, it has already been established upthread via MSM that the father's native language is Pashto.

"A piece of my heart ..."

Sitting in his apartment after another round of searching with volunteers, Khil spoke through an interpreter in Pashto, his native language, about Lina, the day she disappeared and her family’s life here and in Afghanistan.

The search continues for missing three-year-old Lina Khil, and has reached as far as Fredericksburg. Acting on tips, state troopers and volunteers searched on Wednesday night in an area near Cross Mountain Park. Lina's father drove to Fredericksburg on Thursday morning with a small group of volunteer searchers. The group climbed the hill in Cross Mountain Park and searched through the brush in the area.

The group climbed the hill at Cross Mountain park and searched through the brush. At the top of the hill a cross can be seen for miles. Allen tells us all hope is not lost and they ask the public to keep sending tips to the agency’s Facebook page by clicking here.

Signs of a faltering relationship between Lina’s family and LE? Not only did LE not get back to Lina’s family about the tip, but the family felt compelled to point it out to the media.

Not clear if LE was out there investigating without letting the family know, or if the father and Eagle Flight got out there first and media attention caused LE to follow.

It's really hard not to, isn't it? However, I do my best to stick to our motto that if remains haven't been found, there is always hope. : )

Against the odds, praying this darling little daisy finds her way back home.

How odd that her apartment is on Fredericksburg Rd and they were searching in a town called Fredericksburg.

"A tip to police prompted an extensive search this week for missing San Antonio 3-year-old Lina Khil in a Fredericksburg neighborhood. Pamela Allen, a member of local advocacy group Eagle’s Flight, said she received a tip Wednesday night that Lina’s body was buried in a vacant lot in the outskirts of Fredericksburg. After she relayed the information to San Antonio police and the FBI, investigators immediately went to search the area, Allen said."

There's a paywall after that.

You never really know where these tips come from. It could've been something somebody dreamt. It could've been somebody's hunch presented as fact. You just never know.

I was just going to say the same!

I truly hope the tip lines are not receiving what some may deem a sick joke -- ripping on the hearts of this child's family.

Villas del Cabo apartments, 9400 Fredericksburg Road, in San Antonio, and a tip to search for burial site off a road leading out of Fredericksburg, TX.

Any reports regarding the search results in Fredericksburg? Are they done there?

I think we would have heard if they had found anything.

Fredericksburg Rd was named because it went to Fredericksburg. (US-87) But it was called that even before the US Highway System in the late 1800's.

Since the 1950's Fredericksburg Rd turns into I-10 a few miles north of Lina's apartment. No one calls I-10 Fredericksburg Rd..LOL

My time on WS has firmly convinced me that, particularly where kids are involved, searchers should look at least a mile, preferably two, out past the furthest point that they believe the missing person could possibly get to. The number of people whose bodies have turned up somewhere in that range astounds me.

I agree. At least a mile in this densely populated area. Also, ruling out the crossing of Fredricksburg Road to the West during rush hour( 6 lanes + turning lane where adults die all the time trying to jaywalk), the limitations of the USAA compound to the North and busy Wurzbach drive to the south, the Eastbound direction is about the only logical choice for a child or unaided group of children. All other intersetions have cameras or businesses with cameras. But the eastbound route is quieter, Gardendale is easily crossed, and it is all DOWNHILL, allowing for quicker and longer movement. The apartments along this route are spaced close together, limiting visibility of witnesses. This route also leads to a popular creek and unofficial play area - The elevation drop is about 80ft over the 950ft of linear distance between these two points, easing the strain on little legs heading eastbound.
