If you want to hide a car in plain sight an apt. parking lot is a good place. Many different cars and people coming and going and usually no cameras.I have read cases on websleuths were cars were found in random apt. complexes .

Since it had a paper tag, I wonder if a permanent tag was added?
I just wish they’d bring DV in for an all night session, kiss his butt, give him cigs, caffeine, food. He’ll wear down. Ask him the same question about 75 X.

Hmmm , was just looking at the photo of him in the ER? Why does he have a hospital gown on? For x rays or a cat scan? Can't think of any other reason to be in one, can you?

Well yes, he had a small child with him along with an incredible story involving the child. So getting him out of his street clothes and into hospital dress would make it hard for him to take off while they were waiting for the police and CPS to arrive.

I've even seen where hospital staff will kindly send the person's clothing to the laundry to keep a suspicious character detained until assistance arrives.

Or that a toddler would stay by his unconscious side for 24 hours. I mean, seriously?

Or that no one passing by would call 911 or Stop!

Can’t wait to see that a POI is in custody.

I thought she would have been found by now.
Sad.

I think hospitals have dif’ protocol. My local hospital makes a person don a gown if they stepped on a nail. Jmo

As always, cause of injury is suspect but let’s reunify the family ASAP. Why?
What makes people think things are going to change?
Not only that, but at this time it seems as if CPS, or the state, still has custody of the children. Therefore they are ultimately responsible for whatever happens to them even though they were living with the parents for a trial period.
It looks like a lot of poor decisions were made in this case.
I wonder if the judge would have awarded the parents custody at the upcoming hearing. Imo

I would have to say yes. IMO.

I’m guessing not, not that the judge cares, only because I’m not sure all requirements were satisfied. That’s why I think this happened....what ever was going on, he feared was gonna come to a screeching halt. Jmo
I want him in a suicide smock in county lock up. Moo

Law enforcement sources say Maleah’s stepfather has gone back and forth between saying he walked to the hospital and a stranger dropped him off. Detectives are looking into video that shows him being dropped off at Methodist Hospital. #Abc13 Maleah Davis' stepdad changed story while reporting her missing: Police
4:25 PM - 8 May

Can I just bring this forward? Because I’ve been waiting almost 24 hours for this to hit MSM and I feel like it’s the reason DV changed his story and said he was dropped off.

I really hope they release that video. MOO

Same here. Remember how RE reported his car missing in the 911 call and only mentioned that Lonzie was in the back at the end? And Lonzie's mother saying in an interview that he dropped her off at work and she gave Lonzie a kiss and told him she loved him - when Lonzie was already dead?

In that case they got off with plea deals after confessing Lonzie "accidentally" drowned in the tub while they were having sex. That's because the ME couldn't determine a COD because of the long time he lay under the stack of junked tires.

Hopefully things have changed since 2015 and LE will collect enough video evidence to piece together the truth about Maleah's disappearance. The hospital, banks and every big box store in the area will have cameras. It may take some time but I'm confident LE is on it.

Yeah, same ol' story, IMO, of boyfriend, excuse me, "paramour" trying to bullshuck everyone into believing a wildly ludicrous tale of a/the child they're responsible for being abducted. I just hope the hammer comes down swiftly on the paramour when the time is right.

The stipulations to return an abused child have to be much more than they are now. I’m talking some severe stipulations.
Maybe the parent needs to bring the child in daily for a visual inspection and/or convo with a Worker?
Drug court members have to appear w/o notice, on a whim. Either do it or go to prison.
Make parents do the same, if they want their child back, they need to make concessions.
Just putting the child back in the already proven abusive home is redundant.

Why did missing 4-year-old Maleah Davis need brain surgery?
[...]

KHOU 11 Investigates spent the last few days going through court records and discovered the answer -- and although the information reveals some family issues and allegations of abuse, it's not being shared to point a finger at one person or to try to influence public opinion.

[...]

The state got involved after a seizure and head injury sent Maleah to the hospital in August.

Maleah was living with her grandmother, mother Brittany Bowens, and Bowens’ boyfriend, Derion Vence, and only went to the hospital at the urging of her grandmother, who was at work at the time of Maleah's injury, according to court records.

[...]

Doctors had to perform a “craniectomy to relieve pressure” and remove half of her skull, according to documents. When Maleah got out of ICU, doctors ordered that she wear a helmet for 12-24 months while she healed. Doctors said the injury and explanation did not add up and suspected abuse, according to court records.

This was not Maleah's first trip to the emergency room.

[...]

Bowens said Maleah was hurt after falling from a chair, but that “would not have caused the serious internal injuries, which required half of Maleah’s skull to be removed,” medical professionals said in court documents.

“Maleah Davis suffered traumatic brain injury with evidence of more than one injury while in the possession of her mother Brittany Bowens and the mother’s paramour, Derion Vence,” court records read. “Neither caregiver had an explanation that was consistent with the injury.”

The case worker with CPS eventually concluded there was “reason to believe” there was “neglectful supervision” on Bowens’ part, but nothing more. In the end, “the doctor could not confirm whether or not injuries were caused by abuse,” court records read.

[...]
Did anyone notice in the 1st bolded part of the story, that it says Maleah was also living with her grandma, BB, and DV when she got the injury? That is the 1st time I have ever heard that. Now I'm really confused. Edited for grammar

The definitely have video of him being dropped off >>>Stefania Okolie on Twitter.
LE doesn't believe him - I'm certain about that. MOO

The way this is worded makes me wonder if she means to say that LE are looking at the specific video which shows DV being dropped off, or that LE are looking for video that might show this. I think it can be interpreted both ways. JMO

I guess we may never know. In any case, they will be facing a great deal of scrutiny and criticism.
Unless somehow there is a happy ending to this story.
I'm guessing there won't be. Imo

What makes people think things are going to change?

I'm wondering if fallout in TX over the Hart family murders/suicide(s) in California have influenced Child Protective Services/whatever they're called in TX, to push even harder for reunification of families. I don't want to derail the thread into a discussion of the Harts, they've got their own threads here, I just wonder if things have changed in TX since then.

Well Mr Henry..I usually agree with everything you post, this time I respectfully disagree. In my opinion, Lucas would not have been found without him. Yes, we had awesome searchers, my sister and myself also searched, but we couldn’t find him. He came to town, got her to talk, got her in his truck, said what he needed to say to get her to talk, drove over the same bridge 3 times paying attention to her body language. Stopped, found him, while she kept saying No, that’s not him. However, you want to look at it, he found Lucas when no one else could. Again, MOO, this case is very similar. We have a child left in the care of a fiancé, a concocted story full of holes, and different versions of the story. How is it any different? And yes it was 3 months later. That was the most agonizing 3 months. Wichita is my home, and Lucas was our baby. We all still hurt, and we never met him. I know you don’t want this to go 3 months, wouldn’t it be better if the PI came and did his magic and found her before all evidence is wiped from the weather? When he found him, my first thought was: Where were you 3 months ago? JMO

I am not sure the techniques used by that person would work with these two. It worked with Emily because she could be bullied and manipulated and I am not sure these two are as weak. (Btw, we were getting ready to start at the beginning of our grid search and Lucas would have been found then.)

JUST IN: medical professionals did not believe the family’s story of how Maleah hit her head causing severe head trauma, still she and her two brothers were returned to mom and stepfather in February. @abc13houston details at 6pm. #FINDMALEAH #MaleahDavis

I just do not understand this. Who determined they knew better than the doctors and nurses?

Yes, it sounds like they all lived together.
If this was the evidence presented in court, I see absolutely no justifiable reason that the children were temporarily placed back in the home.
If a professional (Doctor) said the injury could not have occurred the way the mother said it happened, there should have been no question that the children were not safe in the home. Jmo
