All this CPS stuff is really confusing. I'm not sure how CPS works, but do you think maybe ??? tried to silence MD (its hard for me to write that) because of the upcoming hearing. Maybe due to official charges being filed or losing the other 2 children. Maybe the abuse stopped and started again in between CPS visits. IDK MOO

I deleted my error.
So BB could have left M with her mom. Simple. She chose to leave her with DV, imo.
BB and DV were living together. They had custody of 3 children together. Why wouldn't she leave DV with the kids? Especially knowing there were plenty of relatives nearby.

Lost my posts to quote. So, trying to remember...

RE: car seats - we are assuming car seats were regularly used. Sometimes people don’t follow car seat laws. I would not rule out or make any assumptions based on the number of car seats found, or not found in the car. MOO

RE: dropping car off somewhere Hispanics would frequent - Houston and its suburbs are so diverse, it would not be odd to find any race in any neighborhood. The wealth in the Houston metro area is not limited to a single race. Likewise, the poverty is not limited to a single race. I moved less than a year ago, on my culdesac (15 houses), we had representatives of 1 African American, 2 African (from Nigeria), 3 Hispanic families, 2 Middle Eastern families, a British family, another family from Europe, not sure where from, 3 American Caucasian families and 2 families I never saw or spoke with. Just an example to let you know just how diverse this metro area is.

I can see a little girl wanting to go to her nana and was whining and it pissing him off. Maybe he hit her in anger and she was hurt badly or maybe it killed her so he had to dump her somewhere away from the apartment. He couldn't have her falling out of a chair again as an excuse.

Since DV mentioned her “looking sweet” to the three men, I’m wondering if things went in a dif’ direction......
Did he think she “looked sweet”? MOO

To my knowledge there has never been proof of abuse. Medical professionals could not determine that the injury was from abuse.

Snipped for brevity. There's several pictures of both older children (Maleah and older brother) riding in cars without carseats. So, only having one carseat in the car doesn't seem odd. Although, there should have been 2 carseats and at least a booster if the kids were regularly travelling safely.

IMO she’d be afraid as hell to leave her kids with him, if nothing else, because of past incidents. Why risk it again?

What past abuse? Please link to it.

I thought she once claimed she had but now I can’t find article.
I think it was during the grandmother live statement. Also, screenshots on SM and other sites but that's not MSM

that would mean she had no contact with the Aunt or Boyfriend while she was out of town. I don't believe that. MOO

Could be... it probably depends on how they usually interact with eachother, what BB's state of mind was, being that she was away to attend he father's funeral etc.. I can think of circumstances where she wouldn't be in touch, or be in touch but not informed of the situation by DV or aunt, etc.. It wouldn't be my way of doing things, but it seems possible.

Catching up and reading a whole bunch of posts/news etc today some other things flew through my head... can't talk about what I think because of TOS. But I think we're still in for one, maybe even more unexpected twists to this case. And I'm not liking that thought. :(

Many times love is blind and they stay, even if their children are being abused.

Not directed at you @missingm but how can abuse be definitively proven? Unless there’s video, isn’t it a judgement call based on mostly circumstantial evidence?

Imo, the burden needs to be on a parent to prove there isn’t abuse before kids get sent back to die.

I agree with that. I'm just saying that it seems there's a possibility that she shouldn't have even been in the custody of the mom - depending on the visitation schedule.
In other words, mom could have possibly had no say in where the child was supposed to be. Sounds like the court system may have put custody in the hands of someone other than DV or BB and that person may have totally/allegedly not followed the order.

This is purely hypothetical, not saying this happened or not: For instance, suppose I have full custody of a niece, mom allowed supervised visits one day/week for 6 hours or so. I feel mom should have more time and give mom 2-3 nights/week. Totally my fault that I went against the order. Decisions had been made that I was the person to best make any decisions for the child and this decision I made turned out to be a really bad one.

I think the fact that mom has been barred from contact with her kids likely shows she was involved in the decision to allow boyfriend to care for Maleah.

So.

9pm 5/3 - DV assaulted and abducted at 69 & Greens Road.
?? Morning 5/4 - family reports DV missing to police.
3pm 5/4 - Nissan spotted by traffic camera near Cheesecake Factory (near First Colony Mall)
6pm 5/4 - DV "wakes" on the side of the road with son and Maleah missing at Highway 6 and Southwest Freeway (near First Colony Mall)
9-10pm 5/4 - DV arrives at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital with son. He is treated for minor injuries. He was dropped off in a vehicle and did not walk.
11am 5/9 - Nissan found in parking lot at Highway 6 & Murphy Road

Here's a map I made for easy locating of the individual places: Maleah Map - Google My Maps
Let me know if anyone wants me to add any other pins.

Thank you for this, it's quite telling!
He was ever so close to that airport when things fell apart.
Below all MOO

The type of injury and evidence of abuse including other injuries.

I shudder to think of a country where the burden of proof changes to what you want it to be.

I am not saying that DV didn't do something here. I just see the previous injury being used to throw shade at the mother, which is a violation of TOS. She is z victim.

Yes, if you believe there was a flat tire to begin with. But when the car was found today, all 4 tires were present and inflated, and the spare wasn't in use. So, if you believe there was a flat, it was either repaired and put back on, or another tire was put on to replace it.
To be fair, from what I've seen DV said that he initially pulled over because he thought he may have a flat tire/it felt like he had a flat tire. But I didn't see anywhere where he actually said it was flat tire or physically saw it or began the process of changing it. Not that we believe anything he says anyway, and I'm not buying any part of his story. But just saying if questioned about the tires being fine when the car was found he COULD argue that he pulled over because he thought it was but never confirmed that it actually was flat or got attacked before he actually inspected the tires. Just a thought. (unless he did actually sat that previously?)

To my knowledge there has never been proof of abuse. Medical professionals could not determine that the injury was from abuse.

Medical professionals believed it was from abuse. They did not believe it was remotely possible that the child sustained such injuries when she fell off a chair.

So they reported it. CPS determined there wasn't enough evidence. Not medical professionals.

In any event, now Maleah is gone. Likely dead. Most of us realize she was likely being abused.

It's a common story. We've seen it over and over. Kid is returned after abuse allegations. Child disappears and is determined to have died after horrific abuse. Case after case after case after case.

I expect to learn the same here. I don't believe in coincidences.

I've seen a few MSM articles say he was in the process of changing a tire. But that may just be spotty news reporting. Not sure.
