I think checking that odometer will be key as well. Being a car they had recently purchased, it should be easy for LE to find out what the odometer was when purchased. Compare that to the current reading, do some calculating and they should be able to determine if... it is probable the car was driven to and from the airport area and if it is probable the car was driven around for 24 hours (though I’m not sure he claimed this; still trying to figure out how and who allegedly stole the car). They should also be able to tell if all four tires are the original tires and if there was a flat or not. Not to mention any trace evidence they find. This car could be a gold mine, I hope it is! Or, it could hold no clues at all. MOO JMO

There is enough unknowns without creating more.

Brittanys Dad did die on April 11.

There WAS A SERVICE a few weeks later. Not everyone has the funeral immediately or a funeral at all.

There is an MSM post here with a picture.
You can see it's the father on their memorial shirts.
You can see it is a cemetery.
This wasn't some plot to pretend he died and fake a funeral to disappear a kid.

I just really want to get away from doubting things we actually know.

More likely that they will start with today and work backwards.

Idk what their strategy will be, guessing someone is on ea day of footage, providing they got footage.
I do wish the apartment complex (or resident) captured him carrying or walking her to the car.
I have really bad feelings about what she endured while home alone with DV.......

Update: Stepdad of missing girl Maleah Davis hasn’t showed up to work at PharMEDium in a week, his coworker tells me. Darion Vence was sent home because he was vomiting last week. He was officially “home with the flu” by Friday. This week he isn’t answering calls about absence.

They found DV's car. Maleah was not in it.
The car was clean and no evidence of foul play.
I suppose they could always use luminol on it ?

No visual evidence of foul play, it's too soon for the car to have been processed already.

The POI's story just doesn't add up in any way, its bizarre and it stinks.

Why is he not returning calls from LE or BB? If he was a victim of a carjacking and the child of his girlfriend was abducted, surely he'd be doing everything he could to cooperate with LE and help find her?

How can he expect anyone to believe his evolving crock of bull story?

MD has been failed by the system. To have such a severe brain injury that required surgery and ongoing treatment its unlikely she could have just "fallen" on a marble table. If she'd fallen there could have been cuts or bruising. But imho the only way this child could have sustained such a serious head injury from a marble table (if there was one) is if she'd been smashed into it hard and had her head beaten so severely she had to get treatment from the hospital.

Texas Equusearch trying to narrow search for Maleah Davis
Updated: 7:38 PM CDT May 9, 2019

MISSOURI CITY, Texas — Texas Equusearch said finding 4-year-old Maleah Davis remains priority number one.

"Hell no, we're not giving up," said Tim Miller. "We're all working together to get this thing narrowed down. Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later. But we're not going anywhere."

Miller's team is on standby hoping clues from the family's car found Thursday morning helps lead them in the right direction. Earlier Thursday, Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls went up in the chopper to help survey the area near where the car was found.

Equusearch worries incoming weather will be a major factor.

"The clock is ticking," Miller said. "But we've been here before."

One would think he’d want the three bad guys off the streets. That he’d be most eager to testify against them, huh?

Mom, stepdad of Maleah Davis banned from contact with all their children, court rules

Updated: 7:08 PM CDT May 9, 2019

HOUSTON — A court order has been issued that bans Maleah Davis’s mother and stepfather from having any contact with their son or any of the mother's other children, KHOU 11 Investigates has learned.

During an emergency hearing Wednesday morning, the court ordered Maleah’s younger half-brother to stay with his paternal grandmother. Maleah’s older brother in now in the custody of his paternal aunt, and if Maleah is found alive, that’s where she would go.

"Mother & Father Vence to have no contact with the children," the court minutes read.

Stepfather now person of interest in case of missing 4-year-old Maleah Davis, police say
Sugar Land police said they went to the Methodist Hospital Saturday because Vence showed up there with flesh wounds. They took video but handed it over to the Houston Police Department, which is investigating the case.

So DV was home from work on Friday but his son was at daycare? And he picked him up at daycare on Friday the 3rd without Maleah? Where was DV during the day Friday.

When did an aunt try and pick up the kids but was told Maleah was sick? Did she see Maleah?

Have police searched the apartment yet? I hope they get in there before someone cleans it up, or tries too.

I'm so freaking sick of these selfish parents who cant take care of their kids, but refuse help offered to them and refuse to let anyone else care for the kids.

Maleah’s younger half-brother is with DV’s mother right now? That’s an... interesting decision.

It appears to me, the “reunification” of children removed from parents has a different meaning to caseworkers!
Perhaps we the public have not been on the same page as to the meaning that social workers and judges use.

By reunifying children back into the home, the caseworker
‘s work is greatly reduced as well as the expense to the state.

There is not all the time and procedures, red tape, of case worker dotting every i and crossing their t’s to investigate, fill out the mountains of paperwork, to revoke parental rights so the child is available for adoption.

Add to that the placement of child in foster care while all this is being worked out which may have many changes with additional time and work.

Foster care parents are paid money by the state and as I understand, each state has separate rules as to how long the parents giving up parental rights receive money as well as adoptive parents receive money.

Again, I question, is reunification basically due to cutting the case load and the expense to the state?

I feel badly for TES.
If someone(s) would divulge some info. , they wouldn't be sent on what essentially could be a wild goose chase.
Many aspects of this case have me seething.
And don't get me started on the importance of 'reunification' when some parents have not completed steps that they should have... The system is failing our nations' children.

The parents and people who abuse the children fail them and the failures within the system continues to fail them. :(

Doesn't BB have a sister or BB2? Maybe it's just me, but I find it interesting both kids went to paternal relatives as opposed to maternal relatives. I wonder what the reasoning is. And, why the paternal grandmother when DV could easily have contact with his son?

I don’t think he’ll go to her house, do you?

Especially if it also means that Mom will not have contact with her adult son DV.

Heart breaks for these grandparents, and extended relatives.
