S Suspicious bruises but does nothing. But dirt pics sent to someone else sets of a big ruckus.
SMH.

Generational abuse. Possibly her parents were abusive so BB thinks that's normal to beat a child. :(

If Maleah is never found, then what ?
Can they charge DV or BB without enough evidence of ... anything ?
That would depend on what evidence they actually found and what they can prove.

It appears to me, the “reunification” of children removed from parents has a different meaning to caseworkers!
Perhaps we the public have not been on the same page as to the meaning that social workers and judges use.

By reunifying children back into the home, the caseworker
‘s work is greatly reduced as well as the expense to the state.

There is not all the time and procedures, red tape, of case worker dotting every i and crossing their t’s to investigate, fill out the mountains of paperwork, to revoke parental rights so the child is available for adoption.

Add to that the placement of child in foster care while all this is being worked out which may have many changes with additional time and work.

Foster care parents are paid money by the state and as I understand, each state has separate rules as to how long the parents giving up parental rights receive money as well as adoptive parents receive money.

Again, I question, is reunification basically due to cutting the case load and the expense to the state?

Since implementing Signs of Safety and in doing so having reunification be the case goal until it’s not, we have actually increased caseloads, increased spending, increased the “t’s and i’s” and whatnot Parents must comply with treatment plans ordered by the court in order to continue working reunification. TPR prep requires very little by the worker, as if the case was managed properly from day 1, everything is in order already. All that’s left at that point is to testify. In my time as a case worker, the cases that required the most time/energy/emotions were reunification goals. Once kids are approved for trial home visits, they must be seen in the home once per week, not to exceed 7 days without laying eyes on the child in the home. Many weeks I would see the child 3 times in a week, but only once in the home. This is very time consuming, especially considering that statutes require workers to see children in foster and pre-adoptive homes once per month. Finally, nothing has been done to cut case loads. They continue to grow, stretching social workers thin. More funding is needed. Better policies and practices are needed. More oversight is needed. More wraparound services are needed. My opinion, my experience ;-).

Call me jaded, but I didn't trust BB from the jump.
Ita.

And she seems with every public appearance to be in a very big CYA mode.
Too many red flags were missed or outright ignored.

Where is this little girl ! :(

I've seen the picture. I really don't think it's a face. Just folds and reflections on the bag.
Oh thank you! I didn't look at it. I just couldn't.

I'm still trying to understand how the above criminal statute applies to BB, based upon what the public knows.

She willingly left a medically fragile, disabled child with a man she knew was whipping this vulnerable four year old, who she had concerns was bathing her and had taken the child out of preschool on several occasions to be with him by herself at home.

This is a child who is in the system due to MULTIPLE "accidents", one of which at least caused a catastrophic brain injury, which doctors stated could not because by a fall from a chair, and which caused Maleah to be in the system, the "parents" to temporarily lose custody and mom to be found to have neglected to properly supervise her child.

But she went out of town and left Maleah with this man regardless of all that.

Then, after returning home and not being able to locate her children, she fails to call 911 and fails to even report them missing at all until possibly, on Sunday. Which is my only neglectful but shows consciousness of guilt, IMO.

That's pretty clear criminal negligence IMO:

(d) A person acts with criminal negligence, or is criminally negligent, with respect to circumstances surrounding his conduct or the result of his conduct when he ought to be aware of a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the circumstances exist or the result will occur. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that the failure to perceive it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that an ordinary person would exercise under all the circumstances as viewed from the actor's standpoint.

And she would be the actor here in a criminally negligent homicide case. He would be the actor of a different homicide charge, like murder.

Let me put it this way: If a mother allows a man she knows is on the Megan's Law website, and is prohibited from being around children, to care for her two year old for a week, and the two year old ends up with injuries sustained from a brutal rape, is the mother free from legal culpability just because she herself didn't rape the child?

How about if a father leaves his three year old kid alone at a park and the child is kodnappped and murdered. Does dad escape responsibility just because he didn't kidnap and kill his child?

However, knowing many people in the public have the same issue with the concept as you do, it is rare that such a charge is levied at mother's who leave their kids with an abuser who then kills the child, and something like reckless endangerment or some other charge associated with failure to protect is levied instead.

Another fact from the video is that after BB told DV it was over, she stopped taking his calls. Then"he texted her some very disturbing things that mom has to share with law enforcement". He could have been texting that he was going to kill her daughter, and she didn't call LE which could have saved Meleah's life. She said earlier that she didn't think he would do anything like that right? WRONG!!!!

Still trying to catch up here. I just noticed that this source is saying that the video of him carrying the basket was taken on Wednesday. The day after BB left for MA. Is this true? I was thinking it was Friday.

‘In the video, Vence was seen the morning after Bowens went to Massachusetts for her father’s funeral carrying two bottles of bleach, a large laundry container and a black bag stuffed inside, Quanell X said.’ Mother of Maleah Davis blames girl’s stepfather for disappearance

I mean the cops were totally blindsided by this presser. They're probably scrambling and pissed. I guarantee BB and QX just royally messed up the case they were building by tipping their hand.

In the video. The link here. QX said before she left, to go to the funeral, that she was returning his ring, and she didn't want to marry him.

According to QX, he was her fiance, they weren't married, and she broke up with him before leaving for the funeral. Qx is doing her no favors at all, if any of what he is speaking to the public is true re; the mother and her ex-fiance's texts, too. He words it like she had them then, and has not shown them to LE as of the time of his public speech.

Let me be clear we believe what
started this was when a mother discovered
him sending pictures of his private
parts to another man. He was sending
pictures of his penis to another man.
the mother confronted him about it he
got angry she wouldn't talk to him
anymore. When she left that day to go to
Massachusetts, the mother told him that
she was not going to return his ring and
that she was returning his ring, she
didn't want to marry him.
The mother informed him it was over...

I've commented on this upthread, but after reading the above transcript, I have to say something again.

Seriously Chick??? You broke up with your loser fiance after you supposedly caught him sexting another man???

That was the red line for you?

Not that he had allegedly (according to you BB) physically abused your baby girl and also allegedly (according to you BB) possibly sexually assaulted your baby girl?

And if you (BB) had supposedly broken it off with DV and had returned the engagement ring (as reported) - why the hell were you (BB) still wearing it during media interviews?

Maybe that was the purpose of it? Maybe LE was focusing on BB and they did this to throw them off? Pretty big risk as BB now has messed up her chance of getting her kids back by admitting via QX that she knew about previous abuses and still left the kids in DV's care.

Oh. She didn't lie to LE. She omitted..

Seriously though, she is guilty of not protecting her daughter. That was made clear today. More is sure to come out, unfortunately. I'm.
It all depends on what she was ask by LE. I'm sure LE asked her questions pertaining to abuse. BB posted on SM that she was interrogated for 8 hours while she was defending DV. BB also posted pic of DV with scratches all over his neck and back (I have the screen shots but I'm not allowed to post) and thank god he is alive from his attack. MOO

Is it possible, Maleah could've been gone before BB's flight to the funeral ??

Oh that's interesting. I know you can't post it pictures, but I'm wondering when the pictures were taken, not posted, but taken.
