Good question. There was some mention that Maleah may have been eligible for speech therapy. If her problems were severe enough to require early intervention, she may have been eligible for full time Daycare, free of cost.
It would be more like a school, though, but we don't know what kind of Daycare it was so it's hard to say. Imo
Exactly!

Dogs detected decomposition in case of missing 4-year-old girl, prosecutor says

Trained dogs detected the scent of human decomposition in the vehicle of a man arrested in connection with the disappearance of a 4-year-old Texas girl, according to a prosecutor.

Dogs trained to find cadavers reacted to the trunk of the car, Pat Stayton, a prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, said at Vence's probable cause court hearing Saturday night.

Both of the dogs reacted to the trunk of the silver Nissan that the defendant had driven and that the blue laundry basket was recovered from, indicating that the dogs were responding to the scent of human decomposition in the vehicle," Stayton said.

Thank goodness that's cleared up!

From the article:

A funeral home administrator said that a memorial service for Benjamin Bowens was held on April 27 and that it was organized and conducted privately by Benjamin Bowens' family. The administrator could not confirm who attended that service.

The administrator went on to further clarify that a separate burial was held on Wednesday, May 1.

The administrator did confirm that Brittany Bowens and her sister both attended the burial.

Houston police have confirmed via flight records that Brittany Bowens flew to Massachusetts on April 30 and returned to Houston May 3, the night before Maleah was reported missing.

Quanell X, who is serving as Brittany Bowens’ spokesman, said she did not attend the memorial service on April 27, but she did attend the funeral on May 1.

*EDITOR'S NOTE: KHOU 11 published a story early Monday that indicated that Brittany Bowens attended the funeral for her father on April 27, per Harrell Funeral Home owner Ron Harold. That date is inaccurate. She attended her father's burial on May 1.

This is what I suspected because the picture of BB and her sister says that it was taken at the burial.

I wonder why they haven’t said anything about the time she left on the 30.

If he bails out, I think they will keep him under surveillance.
Honestly, I feel better with him staying put. He and his family (including his son who is in his mom's care) are safer with him where he's at. Imo.

I'm surprised by this, but not really concerned.
Those much bigger charges are coming! Even if he bonds out, it will likely be for a very short period of time before he's right back in, facing the heavy stuff.

Unless he runs!

I think we might hear from a friend of BB’s soon.

I thought that too! $4,500 is more attainable. A fake passport and ID and he's gone.
I thought it was 45 thousand? Is it really only 45 hundred?!

Unless he runs!

Maybe, but to where? To whom?
Technology being what it is today, I can't imagine he'd get far.
And with tea being spilt all over the place lately anyone that would be harbor him would be insane.

Oh. Wait.

Yeah, maybe he'd run.

#MaleahDavis - Law&Crime spoke to Derion Vence's attorney, Thomas Burton. Burton said the judge lowered the bail on his own. The defense did not file a motion to lower, but they were planning on asking for lower. Earlier today Vence's bail was lowered from $1 million to $45K

Depending on the bond, yes! I think someone up thread talked about checking that out. Was it you @PommyMommy ?
It varies. I don't know what kind of bond it is or what bondsman he may use, so I don't know how to check it out. MOO

I just saw a bunch of videos from people who were at the courthouse this morning. Following Brittany from the courtroom all the way to her ride in the parking garage.

They were pretty relentless. At the car, she was asked why she left Maleah with him and she went full drama, crying and yelling that she loved him and trusted him and such. Someone said 'why, when you thought he had touched her?'

Drama OFF - she turns it on quick when the slightest shred of sympathy is shown her, and when questioned - Drama OFF and she just stops crying and turns away.

This whole thing is such a crazy, hot mess.

I want it over with. DV properly charged, Maleah found, and for all these people to crawl back under their rocks.

Indeed!

After that video came out of MD returning to the apt with DV, if she had left for the airport at say 5 or 5:30 am, you'd think she'd have had her spokesman state the fact loud and clear.
