Blood and tissue from Maleah in the last place, and with the last person to be seen with her , who says she was abducted during a carjacking and was taken., and there is the smell of decomposition in the car that a live Maleah was said to of been abducted with.

I think they can find something to charge him with.

I think they will too. I just think they’re trying to build the evidence before they jump into it.

Also, I strongly hope they do not allow BB to get her other children back.

There have been successful murder convictions with no body. And successful murder convictions with no known cause of death. I suspect it will depend on how strong a circumstantial case they can make. And which charge they think will put him away the longest.
From what limited information we have so far, I think it's a pretty strong cirumstational case. The video stuff alone is almost enough. I'm also certain LE is connecting all the dots. QX is a balloon head, making those statements about how much more he knows than they. Psst QX, they aren't going to share information with you or your < insert bad word here>.

Yes, it is uncommon - commonly funerals happen within a few days to a week after death. Even with embalming the body will start to decompose after that.

I'd still like to know the date of the actual funeral.

I found this article linked below very helpful in regards to the timeline. Speaking from personal experience, funerals can happen weeks after a death if the body is cremated. This also is a possibility for a memorial service where the physical body isn’t present.

Did Maleah Davis' mother attend her father's funeral in Massachusetts?

I NEED AN EXTREME DISLIKE BUTTON FOR THIS KIND OF SITCH :( :( :(

Does this mean he would only need to come up with $4.5K to get out? A measley 45hundred????
I’m guessing he’ll be fearful to be released.

I guess I think about Kelsey Berreth's murder and how they have a sidekick who confessed to cleaning up the scene. Picking a motive wasn't a stretch for PF. Here it seems conceivable the defense might try and play the re-injured the head wound and boyfriend panicked. And the reasonable doubt that would be pushed for that scenario. (I forgot about the "tissue." (Probably on purpose.)) I wonder if DV truly is a child murdering SO but gets locked up on a lesser charge and is paroled in 10 and that's that?
*Edited to add that I should have probably chosen a case similar to Lucas Hernandez. I vaguely remember that the state would have tried murder charges along with abuse charges except EG killed herself. I've always wondered if the abuse charges were there in case she wasn't convicted on the murder charges. And the difference in sentencing.

I believe this is the attorney hired by Vence:
Tom Burton III.... he also has experience in the entertainment field, so perhaps Vence already had used him for his "work".

Mother of missing Texas girl heckled after canceled hearing
The hearing was canceled, though, and Vence's next hearing was scheduled for July 10.
Tom Burton, Vence's attorney, said he couldn't comment because he hadn't seen any of the evidence in the case.

He shows "misdemeanor criminal defense" as part of his experience. Not sure how good he would be for a murder charge?

In Texas you have to be working, going to school, or having some kind of training to get assistance. Those are laws basically everywhere.

I was a case manager for a DA’s office. We worked with children and families who were referred for counseling, anger management and parenting classes. Many, many of our mom’s received assistance for daycare, reduced housing, etc. but didn’t work, attend school, or training programs.

Wow, I stepped away and this discussion went crazy! :)

If this has already been answered. I didn’t see it in my quick skim through the thread, so sorry.

The bond, if I read correctly, changed from a standard bond to a cash bond.

Standard would’ve meant 10% on $1 mil, $100k to bond out IF a bondsman would’ve taken him on as a client.

Cash at $45k, means just that...$45k to get out. Some ppl think that you get the $ back if you show up for your court date, but I’ve never gotten a $1 back nor have I ever known anyone who got any back.
*Don’t judge me, I was once young and dumb. And I have a sister who’s old and dumb, so I’ve dealt with bond a few times, all in TX*

In all of these “tall tales” I’ve only known of one car, the Altima...the famous one that was stolen, then seen on driving on traffic cams Saturday and then mysteriously dropped DV’s silly butt off at the hospital.

So IMO that’s the family’s car, which was recently purchased in BB’s name. If they can only afford 1 car, total assumption on my part, does it seem very likely they have $45k just laying around that they want to waste??

I’m going with NO!! Highly unlikely DV is getting out and IF he does, he ain’t going ANYWHERE!! Promise! He’ll be sporting a fancy ankle monitor and probably on house arrest. With this case being so highly publicized, LE won’t risk messing up by letting him dip out.

Thank you all for attending my TED talk featuring MOO and speculation.

WOW. Justice for Children. SMH. He's representing DV.
Couldn't that be considered a conflict of interest ?
Pardon me if very few people do not want this DV to have the best defense lawyer......

But private attorneys can be appointed as criminal defense counsel.
Unless things have changed drastically since the 90s in Texas, most ' public defenders' also have private practices. I don't think all jurisdictions have a public defender's office.

We already established that she was going to school.

I haven't seen these before.

I'm assuming this is the head laceration before the next ER visit for the bone flap operation? And after her brain surgery.

That head laceration doesn’t look fresh, so I doubt that was the visit.

I’d have to see proof she attended school, not just what she put on FB. I think the two knew how to milk the system. Jmo

Highly unlikely. Sherin Mathews case is pretty similar to this one and both parents lost their parental rights.

If defense is incompetent history has shown criminals tie up the legal system for years, and in some cases have even walked. I do not want the perps of this crime to have crap lawyers they can blame later. Just my opinion only, with respect all.

Very curious how this particular lawyer is involved.
