After they found Lizzy, I have been just trying to catch up on and off when I have had time on others I follow. I am now caught up on Maleah but have said nothing since hearing about Q and DV and finding the remains in Arkansas. I have read many pages and have two remarks. This is the first remark, and I do not have adequate words but will try.

This poor child seemed to have no safety, no respect and no dignity provided to her in her life or at least most of it. From what we do know or can glean, she was traumatized, probably terrorized and abused. She was but a baby, an innocent.

We knew, whether her or not, there was a laundry basket with a garbage bag in it we suspected may be her. Her remains were found in a garbage bag. We then get to hear her remains were hit by a mower, and the type of detail I try to stay away from and not comment on, nor think about, remarks of blood and worms. I hate saying that and it angers me greatly.

I am so devastated and so angry. I am not blaming the mowers. I just cannot believe this poor child, throughout her life and now even after death, still suffered more atrocities and was left no better than garbage and then accidentally, was "struck" again, now by a mower. Again, no blame on the workers, the blame belongs solely on DV for this part of things, I am just trying to find the words to say even after probably years of abuse, now even after being murdered, she/her body again is injured, scattered right before being located. Was being abused, killed and disposed of not enough, there has to be one more indignity to this poor child...?!!

I believe in God and to each their own, but for those who do believe in Him, this is one of those weeks where I wonder if He Himself cannot stop weeping for what some do to His children.

Thank God she has been located (I don't think any of us doubt it is her) and maybe she can actually be buried in a manner befitting of the innocent she was and the dignity and respect she deserves and with an outpouring of love from those who have followed this and the community.

I do believe she is painting rainbows with Lizzy and so many who have went before her.

I usually wait until something is confirmed but I think there is little doubt here--

RIP Maleah, an innocent little beautiful girl, who has captured the hearts of so many. You did not deserve this and are in a far better place where no evil exists. Paint some rainbows with Lizzy and so many others we can name and fly high baby girl.

YES, I so agree with you, especially with regard to they do not think they're criminals.....it was just a "bad day" or whatever to excuse away what ultimately caused Maleah's death...some outside event/force that "made them do it". They just don't get it, not at all. Thank God they are not the "norm" as parents go, although it does seem like (especially because I am on this forum that focuses on these type cases) this type of "parenting" is not that uncommon and seems to be escalating. There are so, so many sad cases..so many little vulnerable children. I have a two year old grandson and 2 month old grand daughter..........how does on possibly break ribs, legs, arms on these tiniest little defenseless vulnerable babies....how can one do that.... it is unimaginable to me even though I know it happens and happens too often. I just can't fathom harming a defenseless child or infant.... it has to take a really lousy and selfish and depraved viciously mean and bitter person to ever inflict any injury on a child, (or on anyone for that matter. )

or to know about it and let it continue! MOO

Snip from article:
HOUSTON - Joe Vence, Derion Vence’s father, told KPRC 2 Friday afternoon that he hadn’t heard about his son’s reported confession to community activist Quanell X.

“No, I haven’t heard that. But how was he (Quanell) able to talk to Derion? He’s not his attorney,” Joe Vence said.

SMH...His real concern is clear. No expression of gratitude for little Maleah being found. Pitiful!

BBM below
Sat, May 4, 2019
  • BB says she called the emergency hotline to get the maintenance man to get into the apt because she didn't have a key. In the midst of her doing that, DV's brother filed the missing person's report. [71]\
  • BB told ABC13 they called police Sat a.m. to file a report because they were concerned they had not heard from DV, but HPD detective clearly stated no report was filed [2].
  • BB2 explained that on Sat, they went to the PD again when nobody was contacting them and found out they had to fill out more forms, call the missing person’s unit, etc. [11]
  • 2:54 p.m. - The Nissan Altima was seen by a license recognition camera near the Cheesecake Factory at First Colony Mall in Sugar Land. [1] [2] [20]
  • Approx. 6 p.m. Per DV, he woke up on the side of the SW Freeway near SH 6 in Sugar Land, near First Colony Mall. [2] His son was with him and he wandered around for about five hours seeking help until he got a ride from an unknown female. [2] [46]
  • Approx. 7 p.m. – Neighbor JS, who lives across from DV and BB’s apt and owns the surveillance camera that caught DV walking to his car alone, observed DV on his back patio smoking and said he had no forehead injury. “He didn’t have a big bruise or anything at all.” [52]
  • 11:21:42 PM – DV and his son were dropped off at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital in the Nissan Altima by an unknown female. [39] DV had also told police that he and his son walked to the hospital. They were treated for minor injuries. [4] [5]
  • Approx. Midnight – Police were called to the hospital & MD was reported missing. [9]

Do they have a front enclosed patio in addition to a back open patio that she saw him smoking on? Or is she referring to the front fenced patio and she saw him smoking on the camera. If so, then we will have seen BB on the front porch when they arrived and perhaps that was cropped out of the photo we are seeing?

Nevermind, I think the fence is flush with that front wall and therefore a surveillance camera could not have seen over the fence into their patio.

He is doing exactly what I have seen many parents of the accused do, make excuses and deny their child was involved. He sees DV as the victim. It is sad but not unexpected or unusual.

I am not sure about the rules on visitors in jail but I have always understood that if the prisoner is allowed visitors they are allowed any visitor that the prisoner will accept, attorney or no. We have heard DV's brother visited him shortly after being taken into custody and probably other family members as well. I think it is disingenuous for DV dad to be shocked that jailors allowed QX to visit because if his son accepted the visit then his son accepted the visit.

DV choosing to accept that visit and to talk to QX and tell him anything was not in his own best interest and hurt his own defense but I am glad he did. It's not anyone else's fault that DV is his own worst enemy. MOO

I agree.

No one in this case has ever put Maleah front and center, far be it from him to show relief and gratitude that the child has been found and can be properly buried.

Another normal reaction if you believe in his innocence would be to express doubt he could have confessed to anything, to anyone, if dad believes he did not do it. Not to wonder why it was Q who heard his confession--but that anyone would have heard a confession from an "innocent" man...

Imo.

I wonder if the person who drove him to the hospital, and dumped the car off will come forward before LE goes to slap the cuffs on them.

I see that Maleah has been moved to the “located” forum. Does this mean her identity has been confirmed?

The longer and longer this person waits to come forward they are just making it worse for themselves.

It was outside of visitor's hours. The father was probably told that only his attorney could visit at that time.

Well he certainly didn't waterboard him to get the info. Anyone have an example of how it could not be voluntary?
If DV at any time said he doesn't want to talk to him or asked for his lawyer.

The parents in the Elizabeth Shelley case have asked for well wishers to donate to the childrens section of the library instead of leaving toys,as it was Lizzys favourite place.

Wouldn't surprise me if BB tries to sell hers, since her breadwinner is locked up and all

The whole world loved Maleah except for the two she had to live with. :(

I so agree with you. I am just so heartbroken for precious Maleah. It is especially hard comparing Lizzy's family's beautiful and loving goodbye to the glaring silence from those who should have loved Maleah most. Where are the grandparents and other loved ones sharing happy memories and special moments with this sweet, sweet little one? My heart just hurts!

Maleah, you are in such a better place now. I'm so sorry you ever had to suffer like this. Know that if we had known before, we would not have left you and your beautiful brothers in the hands of such evil. Hope you can feel all the love we are.sending you now. Be at peace, Babygirl. Run and play. Laugh and sing. Have all the joy that should have been yours in this life forever and ever.

I'm going to backtrack a little bit, I hope that is OK, I saw a few questions about it a couple pages back. I spent a good bit a few days ago trying get info on whether Missing Persons are unable to take reports on the weekends. I looked on a few .gov sites, HPD, SLPD, and a few others from surrounding areas. There was absolutely nothing I could find that indicated they were close don weekends. It states to call number and file there and to call 911 if emergency. IMO, a missing 4 year old constitutes as an emergency. So even if they were closed, she still could have called 911 and there would have been record of her reporting them missing. All this leads me to believe that BB did know MD was gravely injured and see deserves to be prosecuted also. My heart just absolutely breaks for Maleah. She did not deserve to not know love and affection in her very short life span. I will NEVER be able to wrap my head around monsters that do this to innocent children.

None of them do! It’s atrocious! I mean, you look at the things Lizzys family is saying about her, her personality, her nature.. and where is this for Maleah?? The ONLY people that have said anything about who she was as a person/child was from her daycare teacher.

JMO.

I notice her aunt writing on fb and has put up some videos of Maleah with I assume her father (destiny brother) such a sweet little girl. Such a disgusting 🤬🤬🤬 harming an innocent child. I take it her head injury is assumed to be through neglect?
