What is so special about the 2010 model Chevy crew cab that he'd know the year?

The rest of the details are super vague, e.g. "It's believed the incident originated somewhere in north Houston."

I'm a long time Chevy Truck owner. The 2010 model looks just like the 2006 through 2011 model. I'll water that bouquet for you.

During a press conference, Houston police detectives said Derion Vence was on his way to Bush Intercontinental to pick up Maleah Davis' mother when he said he pulled over to the side of the road near Highway 6 and Greens Road to check his tire. Vence said he was approached by two men in a blue Chevrolet cab pickup before he was knocked unconscious.

There was another man waiting in the car when the attacked happened.

This happened at about 9 p.m.

Maleah and the other one hit him in the head. The men then put Vence, Maleah and Vance's 2-year-old son in their blue pickup and drove off.

Vence said he was in and out of consciousness and didn't really know where he was until 6 p.m. Saturday. He told police when he woke up he was somewhere off Highway 6 in the Sugar Land area with his two-year-old in his arms.

He said he walked around and asked people for help but no one would come to his aid so he walked to Sugar Land Methodist with his son. He is said to have arrived at the hospital between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The 2-year-old was not injured, according to police.

Maleah's mother called someone else to pick her up from the airport when Vence didn't show up. Police said she was flying in from Massachusetts.

Houston police said traffic cameras captured Vence's vehicle in Sugar Land around 3 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle was just purchased and has temporary tags with the license plate 3092G9.

Police are not only looking for Maleah, but they are also looking for Vence's car and the blue Chevrolet crew cab pickup that the suspect's were driving.

I’d be curious to know where off HWY 6 he claims to have woken up in Sugar Land. That HWY 6 and HWY 59 area is extremely busy and only a 22 minute walk to the hospital.

I'm curious when last time anyone besides him or mom saw her...and if anyone saw her during the time mom was out of town. Her not reporting them missing is bothering me....

He said the next time Vence woke up, about 6 p.m. on Saturday, he was on the side of the Southwest Freeway near State Highway 6 in Sugar Land, some 22 miles southwest of Houston.

"He wakes up. He has his son ... with him. He begins walking around. He tries to summon help. Nobody's really helping him," Holbrook said.

He said Vence told police that he walk with his son to Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital in Houston, arriving about 10 p.m. or 11 p.m. He was treated for a head injury and police were called.

Well it took him 3-4 hours to walk to the hospital....

He would have walked right past a huge mall and all kinds of businesses. From that intersection, he could have been in a number of restaurants or retail stores in a matter of 5 minutes, or less. Why not go in one of these places and request police and/or ambulance?

Holbrook declined to say if police are suspicious of Vence's story. But he noted that investigators have not found any evidence, including security video or independent witnesses, to cooperate Vence's story.

Will take some time. That area is full of businesses, restaurants, etc. Hubby and I were just talking. Trying to give him benefit of the doubt, maybe he had a severe head injury, lost, not thinking right. That area is so popular and populated at that time of day, someone would have called the cops and reported him. This isn’t a bad part of town. It is upscale and riff raff are not tolerated by the locals.

Or, a police officer did not see him stumbling around with a toddler in his arms and offer help for 3-4 hours!

According to Holbrook, Maleah’s mother, Brittany Bowens, who also goes by Autumn Vence, was picked up from the airport Friday night by another family member. Holbrook said he is not aware of any report made by Bowens about Vence and her children being missing.

That looks like an impact wound with a flat object, as in he wrecked the car and hit the windshield. Or, maybe Mom smacked him for losing her kid! Who knows but seriously, he needs to 'fess up and save this child.
