He says it in the link you just posted for us or maybe I'm not understanding what you mean.
It very well was - my eyesight is declining and it's getting harder for me to "get around" on these tiny iPhones. Forgive my errors - I see my last post has one as well and I'm beyond the editing stage.

No worries. We have all been there.

Yes in the presser they said a jogger spotted the body in the water and called her husband. Husband came and verified yep that’s a body and then they called 911

This makes me wonder how long this little girls body was in this body of water. I know that when Naya Rivera drowned her body sunk and didn't come to the top until 5 days later when the gases naturally made her float to the top.

I guess it depends also on where in the water she was (along the shallow bank) or how deep the water is (she could be in all the way to bottom but it’s not deep so top of back above water). Just completely speculating here I do not have any information on this exact Bayou and how deep it is.

Naya was pulled under by a current though. It probably held her body down until she drifted out of it.

That's the gist I got. It was hard to hear some of what he was saying as he broke down almost immediately. I also got the feeling he is Maliyah's bio dad from the way he spoke but currently there's nothing in msm to verify it.

ETA: Oops, I stand corrected. From a link upthread from @rainynights:

Two-year-old Maliyah Bass's adopted grandmother, Angel Harris, is in distress at the 5200 block of Carrolton Street after a small child's body was found deceased in Braes Bayou Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020, in Houston. Harris' son, Travion Thompson, has been dating Maliyah's mother, Sahara Simonee Ervin, for four months. The child was last seen playing at the playground of an apartment complex at 10600 block of Beechnut Street at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
...
Travion Thompson, 21, who has been dating Maliyah’s mother for the past four months, said he felt like a father to the missing girl. Distraught and in tears, he said he last saw Maliyah before she went to the park. The child, he said, had been upset because he had broken her toy box. He gave her the pillow case — which he described as blue and white — to carry her toys instead, Thompson continued.

“We don’t even live over here,” Thompson cried, as Maliyah’s mother comforted him.

The above quote is from Maliyah's mothers boyfriend. I'm confused by the quote. Did Maliyah, her mother and Thompson not live in the complex? Were they staying with someone else there?

I was wondering about that too. Houston has been hit hard by the pandemic and most of the apartment playgrounds are closed/roped off.

The interview appears to have been overwritten but here is the transcript from member @KaylynnCouture, my bolding:

Transcript of the interview with the grandmother-

Grandmother: "I was at home because I stay right up the street with my daughter in law and my son and he say 'Mama, Maliyah is missing' and I said (sons name, which I can't understand) 'What are you talking about?' and he say 'Maliyah's missing' so I tried to get down here. I was able to get down here. I was aggitated because I felt like the police was not doing anything. They did not care. Then I found out that they brought a dog out here 2 to 3 hours later to scent to find my baby. You know, she's a little girl. She's sweet, she's loving and didn't do nothing to nobody. I don't understand why they would take her, you know? I'm just mad because I feel like they're not doing everything to find my little baby girl."

Reporter: "Tell me about Maliyah. For people who are going to see this who are going to be looking for her what was she wearing? How did she look?"

Grandmother: "She had some blue shoes. I think her dad said polka dot shirt. Her hair is kind of in an afro puff, you know and she probably had one of her toys if whoever took her didnt try to throw the toy away because I think they said they found a toy under the stairwell so she's ... This is just too much, you know."

Reporter: "She was playing in this park right here, right?"

Grandmother: "Yes she was playing in the park. You know what they say, she's a happy baby. She's always smiling, she's kind, she's loving and she was just being a little girl, you know. Somebody just came and took her. Just took her."

Reporter: "Is there anything, birthmark, or anything that people should look for? Does she answer by a nickname that people would know?"

Grandmother: "No. If you say, 'Maliyah?' she'll say, 'Yes?', you know, she answers my Maliyah."

Reporter: "But no birthmarks or anything like that on her that you know of?"

Grandmother: "No not that I know of."

Reporter: "But the biggest thing is you just want your granddaughter back."

Grandmother: "I just want my baby back, you know, she didnt do anything wrong. I dont want no hard feelings or nothing. I just want them to bring her back you know? Just bring her back, you know. Oh lord this is just-"

End of interview.
So still confusing. And also to add, I'm a little put off by this:

“We don’t even live over here,” Thompson cried, as Maliyah’s mother comforted him.

Again, my bolding. It seems to me that maybe the boyfriend should have been comforting Maliyah's mother instead of the other way around. I get that he appears to be a highly emotional person but still. JMO though.

I’m not completely sure where the interview took place, but the address listed where Maliyah went missing and the address where the child was found was something like 18 miles away.

We are witnessing some grief from individuals who are not blood relatives of the little girl and who by all accounts may not have even known the child 4 months previously. Where are Maliyah's maternal and paternal grandparents and her mom and dad?

She was missing for less than a day and a half. Chief Art Acevedo says they suspect foul play. Clearly something else is going on, but maybe the ones being quiet know more than the rest of us.

They may have been there but the others seem to be noisier. I am going to sit on my hands here.

The first picture of her above the article looks like somebody put make up on her.
Look at that lipstick, she didn't do that to herself. It reminds me of the makeup on JonBenet.

It looks like one of the Instagram filters to me. Although you very well could be right.

How did the toy box break?
That is all.

I hate to even say this but LE saying "murder/foul play"does not exclude either the mother or the boyfriend. IMO. I hope not but still. UGH... F. IMO

For those confused like I was, Bray’s Bayou is a river and it does go by her complex but also all the way through Houston to the east side.

It’s not a real river. Especially not in that area. Houston bayous are all over the place and the water level changes based on the area. Where she went missing is suburban/city area and several blocks away from the bayou. I cannot see how she’d end up where she did naturally. But I guess the police are saying as much now.
