Is that normal for neighbors to be so critical about the parents so early on? I am glad they are showing outrage though.
Not typical that I can recall and not on this level.

I'm glad you found it. WOW. Now it's breakfast, "they" both were outside. With everything we already know, I'm going to say the author of that article should fact check. On another note, Quanell X seriously needs to find other employment, he does that family zero help. I'm personally ok with that but OMG!!!!

He helped police find Maleah Davis’ body, got Randy Sylvester to confess and lead police to the bodies of Denim and Randy Jr, and got a confession out of Tynesha Stewart’s killer. That’s just off the top of my head.

He isn’t good for a person’s future freedom if they’re guilty, that’s for sure. Victims though, he’s been great for.

ETA: I should point out, he hasn’t always been on the right side of things (blaming a rape victim for example) but he has done some good.

I agree, but I think these 2 were looking for an advocate lawyer for themselves and he seriously threw them under the bus IMO. I recall him from Maleah's case but I hope he didn't misrepresent to these 2 people. IMO

He’s not a lawyer, to my knowledge, just an activist. But he has acted as a kind of spokesperson for people. But like I said, when they’re guilty, it doesn’t go well for them.

From the link
Quanell X met with Maliyah’s mother and boyfriend inside their apartment and said the couple’s story left him with a lot of questions.

“Who kidnapped the child? Was she ever kidnapped? We don’t know yet but it doesn’t pass the smell test,” he said. “No responsible parent would leave their child on the playground like that for 5 minutes knowing it’s a high crime area and shut the door behind them.”

Quanell X said he was concerned with the living conditions he saw inside. He said it was very rough conditions for a child. He said while he won’t represent the family, he plans to get to the truth. In 2019, Quanell X helped to bring 4-year-old Maleah Davis’ body from Arkansas back to Houston.——
wow!
Just wow !

Thank you, he said he wouldn't represent them which made me think he had legal background.

I suppose the neigbours feel like I do. Extremely unusual and dangerous to leave a two year outside in a playground unsupervised.

I am still looking for KPRC Taisha Walker's report that was on the 4p and 5p news today. I ran across this on TW's Instagram, an interview with a woman at the apt complex. She was very upset. Hope this link works. Login • Instagram

I'm sorry, I guess you have to have an Instagram account to view it. Maybe someone can figure out how others can view the interview. Sorry to be such a #linkloser
So it seems she is mad at the mother and boyfriend because they are now trying to come back to the apartment but she asks why they want to come back now? She states when the community was out searching for Maliyah they mother and boyfriend were not present.
I'm interested to know why they wouldn't be out there helping to search? Maybe they had been taken to the station for questioning at that point. ??

Glad you posted this...the part about the living conditions stood out to me. Then add in the neighbors statement about a board being over a window and a quilt covering something and my mind starts spinning around wondering what this baby could’ve endured.

I'm super confused.
- who in the world is "QX" and what does he/she have to do with anything?
- what does some rando neighbor's comment about plywood and blankets have to do with anything?
Someone please help me out here??

Google him - he’s an activist and has been involved in many high profile matters - neighbors are commenting to MSM about their apartment - links are upthread -all is not what it seems apparently

Board over a window & a quilt covering something....1.) how do you watch a child with those things obstructing your view? 2.) Sounds like someone was trying to hide the “happenings” inside from outside view.

I dunno, but most of the posts here have been or/are waiting to be. :) And they live there.

Did the article state that mother and/or bf are the ones who sought QX's help? Could the neighbors have gotten in touch with him?

Someone should count the number of apartments there with those or similar coverings. It could be a maintenance issue?

From what he says, he called Maliyah's mom because they hadn't eaten yet, so the mom came inside for just 5 minutes to fix them a sandwich. So in 4 months he's taught 2 year old Maliyah her ABC's, her 123's and how to get home from different locations, but hasn't yet taught himself how to make a sandwich MOO
I know you were making a point/a joke but I’d just like to point out that there are men, even older than him, that don’t cook, for whatever unbeknownst reason to me...*inserting eye-roll * My husband is one of those men. He’s 52 and still doesn’t make himself food, let alone a sandwich. It truly BAFFLES me. If I don’t cook he won’t make himself food, and will not eat. He will complain that he’s hungry, and I will give him ideas of stuff to make but he never makes himself food. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Maybe this guy is on the spectrum. I definitely don’t think that he is, but I definitely think my husband is.
Anyway, are his reactions crocodile tears or is he really upset? And why haven’t we seen a reaction like this from her mother? (I’m only on page 10, so I don’t know all the deets yet). If his emotions are real, I bet he’s a Libra. MOO.

Very interesting! TY for posting the link.

Due to it being stated/pointed out by the neighbor in a news interview, I doubt it was some known maintenance issue. Just my opinion

Well, caught up with the whole thread. So heartbreaking, ....another little child...
So many red flags. Someone said their sideways look had their eye about to roll out. Well mine did.
I hope I'm wrong.

Bf protesting too much, deflecting to his mistrust and dissatisfaction of LE and Tim Miller (seriously?)
Body not ID ed after 2 days missing?
Mom watches the child out the window...when the window was boarded up, view obstructed
4 month relationship and bf and grandma act like it's been far longer.
Mom and bf didn't search with neighbors
Neighbors angry when you'd think they would have the mom's back and be sympathetic
2 year old in play area with hazards around, not to mention a bunch RSOs.
This QX person's statement "doesn't pass the smell test", bad living conditions inside, won't represent family

Poor little Maliyah...yet another child who probably never had a chance
Sitting on my hands till LE comes out with a statement.

I can't think why a two year old would want to stay in the playground by herself. She was too young to use any equipment.

This is a rough transcription of the neighbors statement. It’s not 100% word for word bc IMO she was hard to understand.
“You see that quilt right there (points to her left) that was over this. You see that board right there (points in front of her to the right) that was over the window. So inspection, that’s a safety hazard right there. If something did happen, she came inside, how would she even see her?”

The news camera never left her face so I’m not sure what “this” was in reference to her saying what the quilt was covering.
