I’m so confused. I remember that it was reported that Maliyah was last seen at the park and what she was wearing. Did anyone see her or is that the
There has not been one neighbour etc. that reported seeing her at the park. Nothing in the media that is. I would think we would have heard such by now. By all accounts the neighbours are angry and don't believe them.
Thank you! I was genuinely trying to figure that out.

Let us know what you think. I half expected Tim to pounce at any minute. These cases have to be so horrific for him.

I see complete and utter disgust in his expression and stance.
I agree, he has seen this again and again, and yet he keeps showing up to help families in crisis.
God bless this man, he's a genuine treasure.

I don't want to upset anyone, but I don't think educating kids about harm and trying to show them what to do if they get lost is bad parenting. I think leaving a toddler alone at home is bad parenting (and the negligence in this case is heartbreaking)--but there are many forms of negligence, and I'm not sure the BF's statement about teaching her how to get home is significant or a demonstration of bad parenting--it's just performative and attention-seeking because he probably never taught this child anything or took the time to actually invest in her care and nurture.

I taught my kids at a very young age what to do if they got lost from me in a mall or a church. I taught them how to use fire exits when they were toddlers. I taught them to recognize Exit signs before they could speak. I still teach them crisis skills and make orienteering notes whenever we travel. I do this for the same reason I teach them not to talk to strangers--because I want them to have a fighting chance if something ever happened to me. Or if they got lost. In my view, BF is lying about teaching this sweet child anything. MOO.

At this point, I don't think she was. The time it's taking for an ID on Maliya is really concerning .

Haven't they IDed her yet? I thought that they had but I don't know where I saw that.

Someone mentioned that they hadn't officially done so and it might be part of LE's way of putting pressure on POIs?

Also wonder if the storm preparations may be affecting usual work times and labs?

Do you mean that they may be hinting to them that the date of death is not what they claim, by the condition of the body?
I know that if a body is located in water and has not been there for very long, they can tell how long it has been in the water.

It is concerning and it takes my mind to some not good speculations. That said, she likely had never been to a dentist at age 2, and might not have been born in a formal setting where newborn footprints were taken. They might have to do a DNA study for conclusive identification.

"In March 2011 Quanell X traveled to Cleveland, Texas to support 18 men allegedly involved in the gang rape of an 11-year-old girl. Quannell X spoke out against the victim, claiming she did not do enough to prevent herself from being gang raped. He later went on to claim the girl's parents were also responsible for her assault: "It was not the young girl that yelled rape. Stop right there -- something is wrong, brothers and sisters." and "Where was the mother? Where was the father?"[25]"

Um. Definitely do not want any trouble with Quanell or his entourage. :( Yikes.

That's all I need to know about this man.
Thank you for sharing that here.

Grateful to @CharlestonGal who shared the wikipedia first. He is a public figure and a powerful community leader. But (cough) I wouldn't want to upset him.

"Alleged gang rape of girl, 11, ignites firestorm in Texas community". CNN. March 14, 2011. (That's the source article. Link is broken because CNN changed their links when they updated their look in the mid 2010's but Quannell manages his media and image very very tightly. That's what he does as PR--his image is integral. I would be very surprised if he doesn't control or manage his wikipedia page. MOO.)

I can take the link down if wikipedia is not an authorized source though.I assumed it was because it was linked. Still learning as I go. Thanks @rosesfromangels

So the boyfriend taught Maliyah how to find her way home "In case something ever happened?" How would that even work? Take a look at the area:
خرائط ‪Google‬‏‏
‪EMOTIONAL PLEA: Maliyah Bass’ mother’s... - ABC13-Mycah Hatfield | Facebook
A row of 4 identical apartment buildings. Whether or not either person is involved it bothers me that the boyfriend said he taught a little 2 year old the alphabet, numbers, and where her home was in case something happened. Combined with his comment about Maliyah's mother going in to make him and Maliyah something to eat smacks of a controlling personality. To me.

To be clear what I mean is that he didn't say they were working on these things but rather that he had taught them to her. I know there's a subtle difference but it's what I picked up on. IMO teaching a toddler is an ongoing, unending process. I'd like to know what else the boyfriend was teaching her. Potty training comes to mind. All MOO and pure speculation.

I don’t recall where, but it was said the bf and mom had only been dating 4 mos. so I’m pretty certain he’s just trying to make himself look better. In one of the news videos, it could be the same one you referenced, he bolsters himself by saying he stepped up as the father and how he didn’t have to do that. I know a lot of good men who did exactly what he claims to have done, but I’ve never heard any of them voluntarily speak about it as a way of building themselves up. Bringing that up, especially at a time like this, tells me all I need to know about that goof!!

MOO. Agrre @astansell. Lots of performative "parenting" here. :( The focus seems to be on him and what he did and his feelings, which is never a good sign.

In that particular case other news outlets covered Q's statements. The 3 boys eventually admitted guilt. When he got involved in Maleah Davis' case I did some digging and found other rather distasteful comments he'd made in the past. He later apologized and from what I can see he's cleaned up his act.

I do believe he sincerely wants to help the black community and I believe he no longer asks for money in exchange for his help. But make no mistake, he has done things in the past that are questionable. I hope that he has now found a way to help his community in more positive ways.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and so I take it seriously that he has chosen not to advocate for Maliyah's mother and boyfriend.

Quanell X said he has chosen not to represent the family but he will continue searching for the truth.

"I'm uncomfortable with the things I've been told. I'm uncomfortable with the things I've seen in the apartment complex," he said.

Not a fan of QX but I’ll give props where they are due, he has a way of getting to the truth. Idk what he says or does, but he has my gratitude forever for bringing Sweet Maleah Davis home. I’m hopeful he’ll break these clowns down to get the truth.

I agree. He's trying to get to the truth. I don't care what he does or says to get the info. This baby deserves justice.
