Tried to look her up in the Dallas County court site - but it's down for maintenance - will try later to see if her case is there yet.

Don't really know "what" it means by "case closed" - maybe extradition is not happening re "Motion to quash" - ??

Im not sure what that exactly means either.

Furthermore, if a lawyer believes that the court made some sort of error, such as ruling on a specific matter, then an attorney can request for a motion to quash.


After the motion to quash is filed, the court will review the case and make its determination. For example, if the judge grants a motion to quash service, then the service on the defendant would be considered void. A motion to quash that is approved would also invalidate any applicable decisions from a lower court. If the motion to quash is not granted, however, then the lawsuit will proceed as if the motion had not been filed. In addition, any decisions made by a lower court would be upheld.

I'm thinking the Motion to quash was because she was transfer/extradited to Texas on 4/12/21 - same day as the hearing. That's all I can think of....

More confusing to me is LD aka LA and there's at least another aka. You live in at least five States. Various cities in these States.

How does a person pull off all these names? Of course most likely not helpful in this case, but if somebody didn't do genealogy stuff I'd never guess she originally came from Kentucky.

Looking back several posts ago there's an obituary which states Ms. Marano was married to a man who is LDS. They have connections to Utah, Colorado, NYC, and PA.

The Dykes woman is originally from Kentucky. Plus a bunch of other places over the years.

Florida attorney awaits extradition for Seattle woman’s murder in Texas

This is a March 31 article but it gives a little background info.


Miami-Dade corrections officers booked Nina Beltran, 49, also known as Nina Marano, into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (Miami).

Marano is an attorney. She was admitted to the Florida bar in 2012, the New York bar in 2011, and she worked at the New York City Housing Authority, records show.

Records show Nina Beltran, who is a member of the Florida Bar in good standing, listed her former residence in Pennsylvania and graduated from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2010.

She and two of her relatives, Charles Beltran, 31, and Lisa Beltran, 57, are facing capital murder charges in Dallas in the killing of Marisela Botello Valadez, 23, a Seattle resident who vanished on Oct. 5 after a night out in Deep Ellum, police said.

I didn’t see anything on Beltran listed for this case.
There didn’t seem to be anything new for Dykes (but I could have missed something; the format is pretty hard to read IMO)
