I honestly don't know how DHS workers do it. Having to see the worst of the worst and praying every welfare check is a misunderstanding and not the first glimpse into a horrific scene. Praying again that today's "happy ending and case closed" isn't just a facade that will haunt you for the rest of your life. The "what if's" and constant 2nd guessing would be soul degrading.
