Thanks for the links. The youtube link is now live with everyone waiting for KA to arrive at the courthouse. Apparently the virtual equipment didn't work at the jail, so they now are bringing KA in to the court in person so that she is present for the hearing. They are waiting for her to arrive.
Thanks and we wait -

Oct date not a real date, not likely all be ready - per Judge Kennedy

Motion to suppress and Franks motion require evidentiary setting

Judge has 15 murder cases ahead of this back to 2019. They go first.

Per Cofer - no agreement yet on test firing date

Per Drummond - motion not to talk to media. Cofer - Defense wants to prohibit prejudicial comments to media. Satisfied and enthusiastic about state’s commitment to fair and impartial proceedings. Judge glad - as gag orders are a lot of work

Judge - <paraphrase> - prior to indictment, court had no say so over what said publicly. Now they do.
If cannot get fair and impartial jury in Travis will have to go beyond reach of media for change of venue. But other courts backlogged due to COVID. Could be a year or more. Best interest to limit complaints about media - let’s try this in courtroom.

Drummond - request for notice motion for defense experts
Cofer expects to come to agreement

Email judge about any other non-evidentiary matters.

She will sign document today.

Breakout room with defendant requested.

And yet the judge set the Oct. 24 date for trial? And she's retiring at the end of 2022? Looks like KA may be confined for quite a while!

ETA: Note the above explanation is related to state of CA, but appears as a general explanation of Frank’s motion

KA is alone in the breakout room. Judge and KA on zoom. KA is wearing a maroon short sleeved jail outfit, brunette hair, pulled back.

Jail guard? Just came in room. They are waiting for popup on their screen. Waiting.. tech guys are there maybe?

zoom now stuck looking at floor.

[Magena going into breakout room … new / different cases being discussed. Not sure what’s going on with KA in her room.]

They need to close down that zoom/youtube video, it should be set for only KA and Cofer to be able to see, not the public. Very unprofessional that they can't get this right after several years of using zoom.

I did find it interesting that KA was having to teach the guard how to use zoom to get them connected.

Mr Cofer claimed that “government actors” had ignited a “carnival-like media storm”.

“The result of this widespread, biased publicity is that there is virtually nowhere in the English-speaking world where Ms. Armstrong could receive a fair trial today,” Mr Cofer argued.

C’mon now Rick. A bit dramatic. She is news, but not THAT big of news.

In today's court proceedings, the presiding judge acknowledged that it may be hard for KA to get a fair trial in Travis County, and one way to counteract that is for the defense and the prosecution to agree to limiting prejudicial information available to the media as the case moves forward.

The judge made it clear that the media coverage took place prior to the indictment and her taking the case and having control over what happens in her courtroom. I think she is hopeful that the two sides will all reach an agreement on a gag order of sorts for this case, and she will be reviewing their joint proposal that they are submitting to her today.

If the trial is extended for a significant amount of time, I think KA's attorney will again request a lowering of bail amount and try to get her out on bond during the wait period.

I wonder if she misses Michigan winters? Of course, ATX is so large now, she might be able to go fairly incognito.

Hate to see her out in any event!

Soooo, the judge doesn't want to impose a gag order and yet is happy to have the public deprived of information thru an "agreement"? How is that even legal?

Cofer will likely try to get her out on bond. Though she might be considered a flight risk, based on recent history.

Court ordered "gag orders" are tricky items because they arguably infringe on 1st Amendment rights. But the parties can mutually agree to not make comments to the media or public. They still have to make filings that are public record and media can request access to some information. But the parties are not required to discuss an ongoing case.

Forgot to mention - Rick Cofer looked impressive and professional today. He participated from a very nicely and traditionally furnished office that resembled a law library. He had on a blue suit, white shirt, and a red power tie.

I think it is "fixing" zoom when there is no sound. Well, she is technically-savvy.

I saw the photo of KA being interviewed by the police when picked on Botox warrant. Interestingly, on that photo it is clearly seen how gracious she is. Ruined so many lives, and for what? Jealousy, anger?

She was prolly relieved it was the botox thing and not the murder. I'd be gracious, too, just like the time I was jolly with the cop when he pulled me over for driving 65 in a 50 mph zone. The woman who was with me at the time and was half asleep said, "Why were you so obliging?" I told her I'd been going 85. Yep, I was charming! Deferential! Giddy!

Note: It was past midnight at this incident, and I was way out in the desert west when I drove (not rarely) 85 mph.

So, yeah, I'd have been gracious, too, if I were charged with botox theft after I'd just killed someone.

I see KA as an extremely manipulative psychopath. Not just any angry woman could quietly stalk and execute her victim the way MW was murdered; All still standing, life has been destroyed as they knew it.
KA appearance looks to have aged 10 + years seeing her at court hearing today. I wonder why CS broke up with her in 2021, I wish he had been asked that question during his police interview. What was she doing before CS (other than traveling with CA) and why did she move to Texas? Why did she not finish college? How did she earn a living? Old bf (s) history, any red flags?
That spooky vandalism CS described, fleeing US Marshalls and the US, cosmetic surgery - I wonder why this case never really caught traction like Jodi Arias, Gabby Petito or even going way back, Pam Smart? KA is presumed innocent and this post is MOO
