Hmmmm, sweet of you to say..... my zippy response: a robust workout plan would only benefit me!

But yep, KA is driven by vanity. She might actually not have thought about how she was going to eat or keep herself while on the run. But she had thought about what she would look like, namely ditch the stripers.

I hope they make her wear paper underwear and lose her privileges to buy yoga pants.

She "ditched the stipers" so she wouldn't be recognized by the public or LE as an escapee from jail.

Right? What if she wasn't able to get the cuffs off?! She could head to a homeless shelter, women's shelter, but she'd probably be recognized.
It's mild enough to live outside right now, though. People don't give street folks a second look. She could dye her hair, get food at the local pantry, buy some hippy-look clothes from Goodwill. Maybe she has a hidden stash of money in the neighborhood?

I'm aware of that and wonder if she is getting adequate representation or if she needs to request a new attorney if she has reason to do so.
By all accounts of what we’ve seen during the many aired interviews he gave on tv (wasn’t he on dateline and 20/20?) and in the media before the gag order, he seems to be working very hard to defend her. He has also filed several motions to fight to keep evidence out of the trial. But we’ll never know for sure what their relationship is. I would think it’s very difficult to defend someone who has the behavior of KA - especially considering the latest incident.

That has confused me - how can you fight to keep evidence out of a trial?

I do have a question because I’ve always been so unclear about the federal charge against her in New Jersey for fleeing the county using a passport that didn’t belong to her.

Did this case get dropped?
I’m quoting my own post because I found my answer. It was dropped, but can be refiled after her murder trial. The article explains.

Interesting... I wonder if it's so they have something else to charge her with if, god forbid, she's found innocent.

The article explains it this way:

"This is a routine dismissal because the feds want the state prosecution for murder to happen first," he told Fox News Digital Monday. "The U.S. Attorney’s Office can’t bring Armstrong to trial within the time required under the Speedy Trial Act because she is in state custody."

But can't they just keep it on the schedule for after the state murder trial? Maybe dismissing is standard, but it seems like a strange thing to do.

She's reckless. Feckless. And dangerous.

I read this in the voice of Jackie Chiles.

The issue here is that this matter never went further than the government filing the complaint on 7/7/22. KA was in State custody and charged with murder in Travis County on 7/5/22. She was never summoned to appear in fed court before a Judge to hear the Complaint, etc. and the dismissal without prejudice is like it never happened, and can be refiled in the future.

Unlike other cases OP may be thinking of, this was not a situation where KA had the option to waive her right to a Speedy Trial and keep it on the docket until the conclusion of the State murder case. The dismissal was a formality, and preserved the Govt's right to refile.

Getting caught back up: I assume the sister will be a witness at KA's trial. Did the sister admit to giving her passport to KA or did she say that KA took it without her permission?

DM is the only source reporting a plea deal had been offered to (rejected) KA previously - that I could find. I don't recall KA being offered a plea deal, but then I didn't watch this case too closely.

UPDATED: 16:34 EDT, 13 October 2023

The plea deal the Austin-based Garza offered Armstrong could have shaved years off a potential life sentence if she is convicted at trial, a legal source told DailyMail.com.

'She could have been released from prison in her 50s or 60s ... a heck of a lot sooner than if she's convicted by a jury and gets life in prison.

'Against the advice of her attorney, she rejected the plea deal. She is insisting on trying that case, but for her to again flee ... it's just insane,' said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to a gag order in the case.

'Killer' yogi Kaitlin Armstrong 'TRAINED' for her failed escape

UPDATED: 11:03 EDT, 14 October 2023

The escape came well after Armstrong was offered a plea deal which would have shaved decades off her sentence - which she rejected.

This is really unbelievable ... it's old news by now, however, apparently the 2 Officers were injured.
Who helped her get the thermal pants into the jail? moo
