I will always think of her 2nd escape as the beetle-juice video. Up a wall then around a tree….
I can’t believe she was not cuffed or shackled entering court. JMO

Same! She’s a freaking flight risk!
I think there zero chance she's free range. In the Stauch trial, she wore a shock belt and her feet were shackled, out of sight.

KA moves sharply, bet she gets a jolt to help her to change her mind.

Lopez exits her vehicle and walks down the back alley heading toward Cash's apartment. She is using her flashlight to scan for evidence as she walks. You can see EMS arrive on scene and head up the staircase. Garage door under apartment is partially open. She walks back the way she came.

Fast forward: You can hear the officers asking about the bike whereabouts. Lopez can't find it. Lopez says she was helping find the bike.

Fast forward: Lopez putting up crime scene tape around perimeter. While putting up tape, Lopez notices a bike ditched in a wooded bamboo forest. "There might be someone in here," Lopez says to a colleague. Lopez calls on her radio that she located the bike.

No further questions from State.Defense: Asking if she processed other evidence or touched the bike. Asking about diligence of preserving evidence. Lopez admits she doesn't know who put the bike there or why. Witness has been dismissed.

Next witness: Officer Lopez, APD officer for 28 years. Was working East Austin patrol on 5/11/22. We are about to review her body worn camera.

Next Witness: Sgt. Rolando Ramirez, Austin Police Department. APD officer for 24 years. He was a detective with homicide unit for five years, including on 5/11/22.That night, he got multiple calls of suspicious or overdose deaths. Two other deaths were on hold at the time Wilson's death was called in.

Salinas called Ramirez, but didn't share too many details. Ramirez said he'd call back after processing the other deaths. Salinas called back later and told more details, alerting Ramirez that this death might be suspicious. Eventually, Ramirez determined he should call his supervisor to alert the homicide team.

Sounds very much like defense is desperate to find something overlooked or technically incorrect in the processing of the scene, as if to try to get a mistrial or KA released on a technicality.

It's early, but I'm not seeing how defense is going to argue that KA wasn't there or couldn't have done it. We haven't even received the autopsy information, and that is going to show 3 wounds, probably all 3 of which could have been fatal, and thus, overkill, not just defensive shots or those trying to cover up a robbery of a bicycle.

Ramirez then visited the scene of the crime. Uniformed police officers were on scene. Ramirez searched the area for blood stains outside the apartment after an officer alerted him to it. He followed it for a block. Turned out to be paint, not blood. Other detectives joined now.

Detectives conducted a walk through of the apartment. Mo's body had already been removed. The apartment was organized. There were no signs of a struggle. A small cabinet was open and a candy bar was on the ground, but no signs of theft.

Everybody turn your volumes down before a commercial comes blasting on!

This isn't going to be a good day for this trial watcher!!

Here we have an Austin District Court where the audio from the presiding attorneys who are inside the courtroom is less than suitable for most of the listening ears, and across the country in Florida, the defense for another case that has fought tooth and nail to suppress enhanced audio from a police recording of a covert operation where the recording device was hidden inside a police bag inside a noisy restaurant.

I dunno -- I think it takes a lot of nerve to argue that there's no room in the court system for admitting enhanced audio as evidence! We're not talking about altering the audio content but enhancing the sound quality as a clarified exhibit to assist the trier of fact! Duh..

OK, rant over. :p

Trying to figure out what this means regarding Padilla:

Defense:

Q: Did you complete supplement report after incident?
A: Yes

Q: Was Wilson involved in family disturbances?
A: Yes

Q: Why did you inquire about that?
A: I needed to gather all relevant details during investigation

Q: Why?
A: Wanted to know about previous incidents or violence

Ramirez began canvassing the neighborhood to look for cameras that might have captured anything or anybody. The location of the bike didn't make sense. Why would they just leave the bike if they intended to steal it?

Ramirez found a camera and located the homeowner in the morning once they woke up. Homeowner allowed them to review video footage. Focusing on the time when the body was found, Ramirez saw a dark SUV passing through the alley. It stops by the apartment.

Question was asked to demonstrate possible alternative suspects than defendant. I.e. others who may have motive to harm Ms. WIlson

IMO

We are now watching the Ring Doorbell Camera. It shows the black Jeep driving down the driveway at 8:37pm. It stops at the end of the driveway out-of-frame. Ramirez observed the bike rack on the back, which triggered his suspicions.

Thank you. What would define a "family disturbance" in this type of case?

I assume some previous domestic quarrel Ms. Wilson had been involved in. IMO

Court will recess for the day. Court will resume tomorrow at 9amCT. Thanks everyone for following along. I'll be doing it all over again tomorrow.

Ramirez theory at the time: Person who entered the residence was known to the victim. After observing location of body and injuries sustained, Ramirez determined suspect was intentional with their shooting. The crime seemed personal. Suspect likely angry.

Concerning "supplement report" I believe that is a standard doc used in the state of TX. Correction by anyone if I am wrong. moo
