Just want to thank everyone here for the tweets and reports from courtroom. I was very much looking forward to watching this trial, but since there are no cameras allowed beyond opening/closing/verdict I really appreciate the coverage y’all are posting. Thank you so much!

Court is now in session. Eight witnesses are now simultaneously being sworn in, raising their right hands and swearing to tell the truth. They are being instructed that they cannot from this point forward discuss the case outside the courtroom. There are four uniformed police officers and four plainclothes men and women.

The state calls its first witness: Matthew Wilson, Anna Moriah Wilson's brother. He lives in Vermont. Says most people from college onwards called her "Mo." He has long, blonde, wavy hair. I saw him earlier sitting in the courtroom, but was not inside during opening statements.

First exhibit being shown is a picture of Mo Wilson and their family dog, Brooke from 2015. Picture taken in Vermont. Second exhibit is a picture of Mo with her bicycle. Picture taken at the Mid-South race, which Matthew says she won.

Wilson family grew up in Kirby, Vermont: pop. ~500. Matthew says he and his sister were very close growing up. Mo competed in alpine ski racing at Dartmouth. At the time of her death, she was living in San Francisco but was moving to Boulder, CO. The siblings spoke daily.

Mo started racing in Fall 2019. Matthew says she was considered one of the best gravel racers despite only training for 3 years. Next exhibit is Mo Wilson's Instagram. They show pictures of Mo competing and training.

Matthew says he was aware that Mo was in ATX in May 2022. Parents notified Matthew that his sister was dead when he was in school in Middlebury, Vermont.

Defense now X-examining:

Mo's DOB: 5/18/96. She was just short of her 26th bday at time of death. Matthew said he knew of Mo's relationship with Strickland. Says he knew Strickland was a professional racer and that they met at a race. Knew that Mo and Colin were talking about Mo becoming professional cyclist. He knew them as professional colleagues. He was also aware that they had been romantic. He says they were not in love and were not dating.

Matthew says they spent one night with each other in Austin during Fall of 2021. That is all he knows. No further questions for Matthew Wilson. He is being released.

The entire Wilson family has left the courtroom now that Matthew has stepped off the witness stand.Next witness: Caitlin Cash. Cash was the friend who Wilson was visiting at the time of her death. She performed CPR on Wilson and called 911.

Just caught a glimpse of Coffer’s body language towards KA. It was not warm and fuzzy. She sat down and he turned his back. Even though he is representing her, he is probably disgusted by her - especially given she messed up big time by trying to escape custody recently.
That’s not auspicious for her, but any defense attorney would be very disturbed by the escape attempt; especially because it not only indicates guilt, but also lack of trust in her defense.

State begins its line of questioning. First exhibit is a map of Maple Ave with a pinpoint on the apartment/crime scene.

I wonder if Cofer is doing the cross or the others attorney?
I was quite surprised that Cofer didn’t do the opening statements.

State brings up map of Cash’s apartment. Cash establishes there’s an alley next to her unit.

May 11: Caitlin Cash (goes by Cash) says Mo got up around 8:30 am, and has arrived in town the night before. Mo went on a bike ride around 1:30. Cash worked, was home when Mo got back.

I would not turn my back on that woman.

I think this is alluding to the knocked over landscaping blocks CS talked about in his police interview (and some had dollar bills under them or something odd). He also said someone pushed his motorcycle over onto KA's Jeep.
Or KA staged all that, for attention.

Is the prosecutor taking chances on turning off the jury with all of his objections?
I would hope the defense attorney's co-counsel reins him in enough so that he doesn't create the need for so many objections moving forward. If the prosecutor continues to object in such an aggressive manner, I think he does run the risk of annoying some jurors. But I don't think that annoyance will cause the jury to overlook the mountain of evidence against KA.

Cash is being asked about her memories from May 11, 2022. Walks through their morning together and how Wilson left to hang out with Strickland. We are now looking at a screenshot of the locking/unlocking of the deadbolt on Cash's apartment.

I really like it when reporters mention how the jury seems to be reacting to evidence as it's presented in the courtroom. I hope a few of them do that.

"Don't give up," dispatcher tells Cash who is still administering CPR. She is crying as she counts out loud. Dispatcher is encouraging her along the way.Cash says she can hear the sirens in the distance. The 911 phone call has lasted 7 minutes so far.

"Her brain is leaking," Cash tells the dispatcher. Cash is now very visibly distraught on the witness stand as she hears it again. The family behind the prosecution is crying into tissues and holding each other. This is a very hard phone call for everyone to hear.

Since the defense is saying the person who pulled the trigger was not captured on camera do they have to specifically say who they think did it or could have done it, or can they leave it at that?

That was an incredibly heavy moment for everyone in this courtroom. There is a collective sigh when the 911 call ends.Back to witness testimony:Cash says she remembers that moment, has had CPR training but did not know at the time if Mo was still alive.

Hopefully not stepping on arililane's toes here, but looks like these tweets were missed (totally understandable, and I appreciate all the effort to get them here for us to read!):

@alcaprari23

Looking at a screenshot of Cash's call log. 9:54pm, Cash calls 911.Walking through her memories of entering crime scene: Door is already unlocked. Cash says she see's Mo's feet sticking out from bathroom. She is about 15-20 feet away. She says, "Hi Mo, I'm home." When she got closer, she could see her whole body lying there. It is hard for Cash to speak now in the courtroom. Her voice is breaking. But she is not crying.Says Mo was covered in blood and lying on her back. Cash immediately bent down and tried to wake her up. She called 911. She was holding her phone, purse and leftovers from dinner. All were dropped.#KaitlinArmstrong

We are now about to listen to Cash's 911 call:Cash is frantic, asks for EMS. You can hear panting/grunting in the background. An EMS answering machine picks up. Takes 15-20 seconds to get a dispatcher.Cash finally speaks to dispatcher. Gives address. Tells dispatcher about her friend on the floor and "there is blood everywhere." She doesn't know what happened. Mo is not awake and there is blood all over her face and head. Wilson is not bleeding.Cash is now crying on the witness stand as she listens to this recording.

They can leave it at that.

State resumes questioning, goes back to addressing the timeline of Mo’s return to Cash’s apartment. Cash says she got an alert showing Mo unlocked the door, but not one showing that she locked it.
