Oof -- I felt uncomfortable just reading this. I understand being cross-examined is no picnic (I've been there) and defense tries to trip up and discredit witnesses but yikes. You should be able to say why it's important not to cross contaminate evidence.

The location of the bike is being discussed and there are references to it being found in a "bamboo forest". I lived for quite a few years probably 6 blocks south of the general area where MW's murder took place. Many of us had groves of invasive running bamboo along our back fences. It's incredibly hard to eradicate and the growth pattern is quite dense at times. So think of bamboo "grove" rather than "forest" or "brush".

Is there any reference to how far away MW's bike was found from Cash's upstairs apartment? A bike that expensive ($10,000 to $13,000) would be very light, I'd guess between 16 to 18 pounds. It crossed my mind that KA, very fit, in a rage and hugely pumped up on adrenaline, could have picked up the bike and flung it into the bamboo from the upstairs porch. The could explain why there were no bike tracks through the grass.

The bike had to have been upstairs, inside the apartment. No sane person in Austin leaves a valuable bike outside unattended, even if locked.

I've read 50-60' away, and 200' away. If you look at a satellite view of that alley, you can see the bamboo just down the street within eyesight of Cash's home. Here's a link to street view in Google Maps. I believe this little white home on the left is Cash's, and just ahead on the left you can see the bamboo.

I thought the prosecution yesterday said the bike was 5-8 lbs and could be lifted with one hand, and that surprised me as it doesn't seem accurate. Any bike experts here? Your guesstimate sounds more accurate to me, for sure.

- Comment(s) made to acquaintance(s), e.g. “I want to kill her”
- Follows Mo on Strava, i.e. stalking?
- Searches for Mo online, e.g. photos
- Monitors CS’s email and text messages within days of murder
- Recent gun purchase and target practice
- Vehicle observed circling crime scene <1 hr before murder
- Murder appears to be “personal” according to testimony
- Vehicle GPS at a dumpster after murder; when? what?
- Ballistic evidence cannot exclude KA’s gun
- DNA evidence found on Mo’s bike; is it KA’s?
- Sells vehicle the day after questioning
- Leaves TX days after murder
- Uses false passport to reach Costa Rica
- Uses multiple aliases while in CR, e.g. “Beth Martin”
- Plastic surgery within days of arriving in CR
- Searches for news of the case from CR
- Wipes phone in CR; on the day of arrest?
- Attempts prison escape

Anything missing from the list above? Not that 20 isn’t enough. Lock her up for life already, JMO.

I wouldn't call myself an expert, but I'm a lifelong cyclist. Here's a useful website for the weights and costs of high-end gravel bikes, with all components and wheels/tires included. And, as noted in my post up thread, 16 to 18 lbs would be accurate for a bike in the $10,000 to $13,000 price range. Based on photos of her with her bike and her comments, she's riding a Specialized S-Works Crux gravel bike.

Thanks for the info on the location where the bike was found and the apartment.

If she threw it from the upper staircase, maybe that could account for the 50' vs 200' discrepancy. 200' to walk to it, 50' from the air, assuming she lobbed it from the balcony.

However, full disclosure, I left Pythagoras in 9th grade.

True, but I don't think it could have been thrown into the bamboo from the balcony. The balcony is on the other side of the house from the piece of land containing the bamboo, if you check out that Google street view. Unless she leaned over the railing and aimed to her left.

Price and team decided they should check the bike for possible fingerprints. That was conducted at the scene. Upon entering apartment, he saw Wilson's body on the bathroom floor. Noticed the spent shell casings on the floor. The apartment was clean, otherwise.

I agree, I doubt it was thrown that far. Either way picking up to throw, or pushing it by the handle bars and holding onto the seat would account for her DNA in those places... I thought I remember the home owner (attached to the apartment CC rented) said he heard the whoosh of a bicycle?

I don't think we know for sure where it was located, but when I "drive" down that alley in Google street view, the only bamboo I see at least in that March 2019 shot is just past the house's garage on the left behind the wooden stockade fence (assuming you're moving down the alley with the house on your left). Yes, I recall the comment about the whoosh as well. And if KA rode it 50-100' down the alley, in a way that'd be like her last dig at Mo. Taking her bike and RIDING it, then tossing it.
