There is also a U.S. Consular office in Bali, so the people who work there, often young consulate officers, would likely be aware of the KA case in the U.S.,and possibly the Consulate has been given information by LE that KA might show up in Bali, based on her LinkedIn page.

Do you think if she’s gone to some other country ( she appears to have traveled with her sister all over the globe) these ideas about her being recognized and turned in could still as easily apply?

Is there any evidence of the Bali connection apart from her LinkedIn page? It says she is a Partner at The Studio. But I couldn't find any other online presence of this organization. Is there any evidence KA had ever been to Bali? Maybe this is just some sort of certification or other type of professional relationship that didn't involve actually physically being there. FWIW I also don't think there's a lot of fact checking going on at LinkedIn.

Texas cyclist murder suspect Kaitlin Armstrong 'is still alive,' marshals say; Manhunt reaches sixth week

When asked about the spokesperson’s comment that Armstrong was "still alive," DePaul responded: "To make a statement like [that] … Well, obviously, they know some things."

I think it depends on the country, and if they have few foreigners living in a country, then the more she would stand out, but not necessarily to any authorities and not necessarily to anyone who would be familiar with the case. If the country she went to has a lot of ex-pats, then there is a chance she would be recognized as a fugitive, if the ex-pats were keeping up with U.S. news. Probably depends on their age group.

I suspect there are tons of studios with the same name. I know that is the case in the PRC with English language institutes. And most don't have a website or web presence. I suspect it is the same in Bali with regard to many of these studios. I don't think they need certification to open up a studio.

It's hard to say, but Bali does sound like the kind of environment that KA may have liked to visit at some time during her travels. I think LE would want to cover their bases and fax a document to the consular offices in countries that attract large groups of ex-pats in these industries, etc. given that KA posted her interest in Bali on her LinkedIn page, regardless of fact-checking by LinkedIn, it could be a clue to where she would go abroad if she left the country.

It says in the realtor bio that she had dedicated years of training in Bali.

Glad to hear that she is still alive, and if they know that, then they've got some intel.

From the piece:

DePaul later added: "Maybe they picked up on something, maybe intercepted something. And, you know, whether it's communication or a conversation or somebody did see her, you know, maybe her sister in upstate New York is cooperating."

"They’re connecting those dots," he said. "They're looking at a variety of things – that digital footprint's important, is she using a different name? Did she get out of the country somehow? Is she bedded down?"

Couldn't be more curious on her wherabouts... i'm glad to see she's confirmed alive.

I can't help but be impressed with how long she's evaded capture, it really is something.

Her time is running out. Marshals would not emphatically state that she is alive unless they are certain that she is. And if they know that she is alive, they probably know far more than that. I believe the heat came down on someone, and they are now talking. I think this football game is finally into the fourth quarter, and we may be getting close to the two-minute warning. JMO

Agreed. From years of reading true crime books, I’ve come to see that it’s a classic strategy to get someone in the know to cooperate. A little information usually is all it takes for authorities to unravel something behind the scenes. Usually the suspect is unaware and then suddenly, police arrive with an arrest warrant.
Fingers crossed.

Given the small size of Bali and the presence of a number of U.S. expats, it is also possible that someone who keeps up with U.S. news would be interested in the reward money, and recognize KA in the expat community.
I agree, that is a definite possibility. I would not be surprised if a disproportionate number of the western expatriates on Bali might cross pollinate to cyclers. For example,

- single, young or relatively young, interested in yoga, interested in alternative athletic such as surfing (maybe also cycling back home?), somewhat "crunchy" over all.

This, as you stated, raises the possibility of a cycling related murder being noteworthy and thus, recognition of KA.

The only draw back from increased recognition chances might be that KA's over all look is attractive, but generic and that her look and interests might be pretty common on Bali.

For example, KA cuts and dyes her hair. Buys some local jewelry and adds that to a local skirt. Then, one Saturday night, she gets a Hindu religious tattoo of the touristy variety on her arm.

Mix in a tan, and KA might look like one of thousands of semi alternative and some what crunchy western tourists and expatriates roaming Bali.

Then factor in that as a good many western Europeans of her generation also speak English, speaking English is not going to scream "American" as loudly as it used to.

Yikes, she might have deep knowledge of the island and perhaps even local contacts.

If she is there, this might make finding her more difficult than checking mid range hotels, bars and beaches in the tourist district.

What seems to be an old fb... nothing much there
Your post here and the facebook picture of her riding in what appears to be a desert type landscape had me thinking maybe she owns property somewhere out west and through a few state searches it appears KA purchased a property in Las Vegas in February of 2022 for $333K. The signed name is Kailin M Armstrong. I do not have enough sleuthing ability to verify signatures and do realize her name is common. This may not be her at all but if it's her, did find the timing of Feb 2022 to be interesting, if it was pre-planned. Maybe she rents this place out. AMOO. Clarke County, 1078 Singapore Ct, Vegas. I would also have to assume US Marshals would know about this property.

On Tuesday, the Marshals spokesperson would not answer questions regarding the whereabouts of Armstrong's sister's passport and license.

If Armstrong had opted to travel out of the country, [LD, retired USMS] said, she would likely be unknowingly leaving traces.

"If she was able to get out of the country – and that's a big if," [LD] went on, "usually, you drop breadcrumbs as soon as you get to the airport."

[LD] added: "And the relationships that the U.S. Marshals Service has, not only with our international branch, but, with all other countries that we have extradition treaties with, and folks that are on the ground, from the U.S. Marshals and other agencies around the globe … I know the appropriate lookouts are in place."

Snipped for emphasis

I totally agree her look is one that I think would be very hard to spot in a crowd without the distinctive wavy red hair. She looks different in different pictures that have been released IMO when her hair was not down. Her height, weight, facial features are not particularly memorable without the hair.

“Attractive, but generic” as you said well.

No judgement on the PI initialed JJ, you go JJ!, but I’m chuckling to myself that he whipped up these disguise composites and then this quote… no kidding

Jensen believes the apparent cut-price and hasty sale of her car indicates Armstrong's "intent to run."
