Link to requirements for exchanging an out of state license in New York.

Hadn’t seen this SUV footage before:

If that is all the police have/had then I am surprised they even brought her in for questioning.

You can barely tell that is a jeep and it could be black, blue, grey, or pretty much any darkish color.

Yeah this one is quizzical. According to the timeline (Moriah Wilson: The key events around the gravel star's shooting), if this was the same SUV believed to be KA's leaving the area. (Playing with google maps, this is clearly a very similar SUV driving away from the location of MW's killing.). If the time stamps are accurate and this is the SUV, that 8 minutes could intimate that the incident, the bike tossing in the bamboo and the return and departure all took place in those 8 minutes. However she did not get back to home for 36 minutes. By any mapping tool online and CS's own timeline, that is under a 15 minute drive. If the videos are in fact of KA, that's a good bit of time that went missing. Wondering what happened during that time period.

Well, there was other footage that was much closer, taken in daylight, with the vehicle moving more slowly. Can’t find it at the moment, but it appeared in msm.

Interesting..... Vermont doesn't seem at all remote to me or somewhere you could disappear. I'd pick off the grid in the Pacific NW, Montana, or Sierras. There's so much wilderness in those states: almost none in Vermont, and there are people EVERYWHERE! The back woods are, like, overrun IME. And I find Vermonters like to pry, in everyone else's business.
I see "middle America" or the flyover states as better suited to disappearing, because it would involve a big change of demographic for KA. Heck, start a chicken farm or gas station. Turn those bike-driving talents into "corn harvester driver."
However...she has a sister there

That's fair. It seems to bear on the early discussions as to whether this was premeditated or not based on these facts and the timeline. The whole incident from arriving to heading home having possibly been under 8 minutes seems very fast all things considered. But with a 36 minute gap to essentially get 12-15 minutes home) kinda makes one wonder if this (coupled with the recent indicia of the sister's contact) is some indication that this shooting was impulsive if KA is in fact responsible. There has just been no hint of any possible effort to create some kind of alibi in any way which makes the decision to return the gun to her home instead of taking that time to toss it a bit strange. Probably not tons of meaningful information to the search here but that addition to the timeline is just curious. Trying to get some clues to the premeditated versus heat of passion likelihood would seem to start directing the ways and places they would be looking after she was known to be in NYC.

I’ve been attempting to do this for some time and am leaning more and more towards it being NOT premeditated.

I see her turning to her sister as one further proof of this. Why involve her and her driver’s license if there could have been lots of preplanning?

I think premeditation is hinted at just by the fact that she had the gun in her possession when she went to the house where MW was staying. I would argue there was absolutely no reason to believe that MW would have been armed when KA allegedly went in and shot her multiple times. Sure, an argument can be made, and probably will be made, that it was heat of the moment, but if she not had the loaded gun in her hand, MW would still be alive.

Premeditated or not, I think she lost a lot of her ability to argue for a reduction of murder charges, the moment she took flight.

Yes, the actual shooting was premeditated definitely, at least from the time she realized that CS and MW were out together.

What I meant was, the fugitive flight seems to be poorly planned. If she was going to start a new life in Thailand or the Philippines as many suggested, she could have flown there on her own passport out of Austin before charges had been filed.

This whole thing with her sister seems like she’s just winging it.

Definitely agree.

well, that too - but linking it to the Laundrie case
Even though his comments are self-serving to an extent, he does make a good point about the Austin police not making more effort to hold or monitor KA while investigating further.

Perhaps one of our lawyers can elucidate their options beyond simply releasing her when the theft of services warrant was found to have a typo. Did that fully invalidate that warrant? I wonder if a new, accurate warrant for that charge was ever drafted?

I also wonder why the business did not simply pursue it as a collections matter? Because of the amount? What efforts did they make to get her to pay before going that route. What happened to the credit card she left behind?

I know it's a minor matter compared to fleeing a warrant for murder but I find it odd.

I also want to know how they can be sure she was driving the vehicle supposedly hers caught on video. It's not exactly an uncommon color or type of vehicle. Sure, the proximity is curious but I find it somewhat flimsy in itself.

I also find it odd that LE is so late in making the "sister is in NY" connection. In a word: Duh!

Yes, I agree, there does not seem to have been a great deal of planning in the escape. I feel it is kinda like Casey White and Vicky White. I believe there was a plan to spring him from jail, and get out of the area successfully, and when they got to Tennessee and the car seemingly had to be ditched, from that point on, they were flying by the seat of their pants. Likewise here, I think KA had a plan to get out of Austin, and successfully made it to LaGuardia, but after it became known that there was a warrant for her arrest, I think any plan she had went out the window, and she has been trying to lay low and has been winging it since then. Are Canadian mounties involved in the search yet?

The manhunt for a Texas yoga teacher accused of riddling her love triangle rival with bullets may now turn north — to Canada.

Cops say Kaitlin Armstrong, 34, was spotted at Camp Haven in Livingston Manor, N.Y. last month by a fellow camper, Fox News reported.

Now, at least one investigator said the Austin resident may have used her sister’s name as an alias and slipped over the border into Canada.
