They will find her. It might take a while. She was a mortgage originator at several firms over the span of many years. Had any been based in NY or NJ, she would be printed as part of LiveScan. This could be true of other states. I think we have her prints, I think LE has her phone records. She’s very bright and probably decamped off the grid either domestically or [on a beach] internationally, but she only needs one mistake, and LE has held this one so close that I hope they’re tightening the net. Watch the Bourne movies for entertainment in the meanwhile. Wasn’t Matt Damon’s identityless GF manning a dive shop there for a minute?
Do you think she might call her father [on a burner phone] and he might contact LE? But would he really do that, and is she likely to disclose her location to him?

It’s a great question. I could go either way on that one. What’s your take?

This next observation will sound classist, forgive me in advance: I think she’d be more inclined to reach out and divulge if she thought he could bankroll her as she runs, and/or help her secure excellent counsel (and I cannot imagine any lawyer anywhere touching this case for less than a $50K retainer to start, and it’ll be hundreds of thousands before it is over).

Why do you think there hasn’t been a reward offered, even from a cycling group?
Police would get inundated with crank calls and opportunists if a reward is announced. If the number is high enough, thousands of Nancy Drewish-looking strawberry-brownish-blonde curly haired tall chick in her 30s would get called in, and the onslaught will totally paralyze the existing resources dedicated to this. I think they have a lot of leads and are holding cards very close. With each passing day I lean more toward: she got out of the US on her own passport and is in a now country with difficult extradition, especially into what is likely a death penalty case in a state that does not shy away from the needle. She’s comfortable there from past living experience/vacationing. They’re working on handling this through diplomatic channels.

I would love to be completely wrong here btw. You could’ve knocked me over with a feather when the Whites were at some No Tell Motel in Indiana. They drove into a reasonably urban center and stayed across the street from law enforcement?!? Really?!? People’s reasoning surprises me on the reg.

I think I agree with you on that. IF she gets tired of being alone and on the run, and since her father has already said on Court TV and to CBS NEWS that he believes she’s totally innocent, if she calls him, he may offer to retain an attorney to help her return to Austin. He must be worried for her safety. In fact, he said he was.

That’s the only way I see her turning herself in.

Other than that, who knows if LE can apprehend her on their own, without help from Kaitlin and her father. It depends I guess on where she is and what she’s doing, and if the case is high profile enough to get random people to notice. I have my doubts.

Yes, that makes sense. And yes, it seems all of us who had assumed that Vicky White had masterminded some great escape scheme complete with car decoys and a well-stocked cabin or RV, in Mexico or Canada, were completely wrong!

Do we know if there is video of KA leaving Laguardia airport? ie.. walking out of the building near baggage claim egress or ticketing egress? I believe this is very important for the public to know. AMOO

Agreed. If there is, they haven’t disclosed it to the public.

In fact, they [US Marshals] went so far as to say, After La Guardia, NYC, we lost the footprint in the sand.

Do you think they may be bluffing?

While re-reading the timeline, I noticed this comment about the search of the home...

They also located two phones, one plugged in on the counter and one inside a purse, and a US passport belonging to Armstrong. [(4)]

After the search was complete, Armstrong was told her cell phones were being collected for evidence, and she asked how detectives would get into contact with her then, confirming detectives' belief the phones located inside belonged to Armstrong. [(4)]

So, if LE found two cellphones belonging to KA, is it a leap to assume that one was her personal cellphone, and the other may have been a burner phone that she had purchased? If so, might that indicate at least some level of premeditation and preplanning for the murder of MW? JMO

For sure, I believe they might be, but with the known fact that there are cameras throughout the airport, you would think they have MORE KA Laguardia sightings BUT only released the ones that we have seen. It just seems odd that if LE is asking the public for HELP, to report or "see something, say something", they would release the video of her leaving the terminal, or video of her at or near the curb. I guess it is possible that some cameras were not functioning, recording or had been erased from memory run time due to the number of days after the discovery that she was in that airport. AMOO

I think it is likely that she would be in contact with her father, even just to let him know she is okay. I think he would contact LE, but I don't think KA will tell her father where she is, so her father won't have that information to give to LE. I think LE will be tracking calls to the father's phone and, if so, they will know where the call originates, even if it is a no-contract phone and they won't know who made the call.

Note: What many still call "burner" cell phones are just phones with no contract. They function the same way that othe Verizon, AT&T cell phones function, same models of phones, you just don't sign up for a contract and aren't billed monthly, you pay online or with a phone card you can buy in many stores.

I wonder if she had two cell phones due to her various companies (real estate, van renovation, property owner, etc.) and one that she mostly used as both personal and maybe it was the same as the real estate cell phone? I don't think that having more than one cell phone would show pre-meditation, unless they find a certain "type" of text messages, etc. on one of the phones specifically that could tie her to the murder of MW.

On the other hand, if it was fairly new, and they would be able to find out, then it is possible she planned an escape.

I think there was substantial premeditation, but the scene described doesn't sound unusual to me, like it doesn't sound like her having multiple phones was hidden from CS given the location they were at. Finding multiple phones belonging to me along with my passport would be found at my house and even at my retired mother's she has multiple devices in use and her passport.

What I'm not sure is how to take this given the only thing stated as stolen from MW was the bike, which was recovered:
Police saw Armstrong entering and exiting the 2012 black Jeep that appeared to be the vehicle observed in the surveillance footage at the Maple Ave residence.
Unless that just meant they observed normal activities like someone arriving/departing, like there shouldn't have been lots of stuff related to the crime where she'd be making multiple trips to the car?

Yes, true, it’s not uncommon for guys in their 20s and 30s. Actually I myself was in a similar situation with a guy when I was young, and it’s unpleasant to say the least, just don’t see why KA thought that murdering MW was a good idea. To take it to such an extreme when you’re an educated professional woman just baffles me.
I dreamed of being one of "The sports Guys with cool toys and copious quantities of Chicks"- but it never happened. Maybe for the better.

That aside, there might be a touch of "quiet desperation" in KA's professionalism:

- 35 years old and attractive. But....still not married and not getting any younger.
- Has a habit for expensive Botox treatments at pricey spas. Other tastes may run expensive as well.

- Yoga? Unless you are instructing "The Stars"- or at least local Austin money, Yoga does not really pay well.
- Real estate? Good potential, but you need to pay your dues in a strict seniority based caste system before the juicy referrals become available. This can take years.

Meanwhile....

There is income security with the boyfriend's athletics earning potential (providing he combines his good looks with national level times). If not, there is his sports related side business.

But.... both options depend on remaining the girl friend of a guy prone to, well "juggle chicks" with a perpetual eye towards younger, newer and faster replacements.

Getting replaced could be seen as losing the best chance for the bigger bucks and the stability that they bring.....

But it’s been said that they can’t be traced, which is why drug dealers and others who don’t want to be tracked, use them. Is that not true?

It might come down to: What priority the tracing attempt has, and.... by extension, what resources are supporting the tracing effort.

As a result, the burner phones of national level security threats could be traceable with FBI and NSC level resources. Meanwhile, the burner phones of ordinary drug dealers- even if relatively big league, and well, run of the mill murder suspects are not really traceable.

Respectfully, a one-time trip for Botox treatment she never paid for hardly suggests a habit, and while other tastes may run expensive, we have not seen evidence of that. Her vehicle is a 10-year-old Jeep Cherokee

I do not think there was a great potential for income security with CS's cycling. I may be wrong, but at the level he was racing, with a few sponsorships, the most well-known being Red Bull, I doubt he was bringing in huge bucks, and even if he was, most male racers reach their peak athletically at around 26-28 years of age, and CS was already 35. As to his side business, he owns several trailers that he plans to restore, but as of yet, that seems to be a pipe dream, except for the one he took almost a year, and spent a bundle of money to restore for himself. I think KA had greater potential to be the higher earner as a realtor, even a new one in what is listed as the hottest housing market in the USA for 2021 by Yahoo Finance. KA also owns other rental properties. She evidently wanted CS, but respectfully, I am not convinced she needed him for his money., and I do not see desperation in her professionalism. JMO

Remember they were also in business together doing pretty high-end remodeling of large trailers, Wheelhouse. CS looks to have been doing all the actual remodeling while KA was the financial guru. Their first one was his trailer, which in the photos is really nice and large and far above what other cycling competitors would be living in when competing. The second trailer was sold to a celebrity, John C. Reilly and I think there is a good chance they would have been able to continue on with a small, but select fairly-high end clientele through word-of-mouth. (If I had money and a property to park it on, I'd love something like the ones they did.)

I think CS could still go back to that business, but I'm not sure how the logistics of the business work now that she is MIA.

I had read that their separation was actually short, only a couple of weeks in October, co-incident with starting the affair with MW. I had always thought they reconciled in January, but I never knew exactly when it was. 0ctober is really past the competitive cycling season and CS would need to be working on the trailer business for something to do, but not traveling to places where MW might be. It's entirely possible the relationship with MW was ongoing only by text, phone, and internet, a situation that can create unreasonable expectations or false impressions.

I see you points.

Then again, how likely is a Botox treatment a one time occasion? Likewise, successful rental property owners don't stiff spas over $600.00 treatments.

I agree, KA did have great potential as a real estate agent. My very distinct impression, however, (close friend is an aspiring real estate agent in the almost equally hot DFW market) is that seniority rules, protocols 'n traditions are even more strictly enforced in boom times than in bust times.

At the end of the day, senior agents who have suffered through bust times and stuck it out don't want to cede anything to Johnny or Jill come lately types who arrived for the boom.

Good point about endurance athletes reaching their peak early and starting to get old by 35. Now that you mention it with cycling, boxing is the same way.

I agree, CS was likely not going to be turning in national level times at 35 if he had not done so earlier. Perhaps both KA and CS were reluctant to admit that dream and big bucks earning was not going to happen?

I lost my phone with sim card other day. But i have 2 other phones without sim cards that are sinc'd to main phone. They all have the same info so no info , passwords or anything is lost. Even with my main phone i very rarely text or phone there are many other apps to use. My backup phones just need open wifi and i can communicate just fine also i have turned tracking off on them. KA should have no problem communicating in private....moo
My 'backup' phones are unlocked not connected to any company or server. One is brand new one is older. I have them because accidents happen i have mislaid and broken phones i never have to worry about losing any info. ....moo you do not need a phone numbet to comunicate there are many alternative apps.

When you buy a no-contract phone, you have to go to their website, like Verizon, and sign up so that you can activate the phone and make your monthly payments. You don't have to give your real name, I suppose, but you need to provide an address so they can provide you with the right area code and phone number for your phone. You can probably provide a false address, too.

If you use a false name and address, they can't track you by name and address.

But if KA calls her father on a no-contract cell phone (aka "burner" phone), then they would know the cell phone number and carrier, and try to track it back with the carrier (e.g. Verizon or AT&T) and find out where and when it was purchased, and continue to track that phone number.

She could, of course, keep buying a new cell phone, but that would be expensive if she wanted a decent phone with text, good internet capacity, etc.

All JMO, based on my experience using a no-contract Samsung phone with Verizon for about the last 8 years, and only changing my phone once to upgrade to the newer Samung model, but same phone number.
