I would imagine that PDs from around the Dallas area, and probably beyond, are willing to step up and do what is needed for their brothers in blue during this tragic time.

Here comes the spin. "Well planned". Paris was well planned. San Bern was well planed.

Do I think folks last night agreed with one another and discussed where they would stand, yes.

How could something be well planned? Noone knew a cop in one city was going to kill someone? Who could have known another cop in another city was going to violate the law shortly thereafter.

We have to remember that last night, was a result of the above-mentioned crimes, how could anyone even know a march was happening until the 24 hours before the country found out about two more incidents of exceesive force, aganist AA citizens??

I'm guessing they have searched his home by now. I'm guessing they are receiving tips from people in the community who knew him. They may have already been able to read his social media or texts etc. on his cell phone. They may have found receipts for the tactical gear etc. and know when those things were purchased.

It makes no sense to assume that the fact that this was "well planned" is spin. He may not have known he was going to hit this protest but he may have been planning violence for a while and then saw this as his perfect target. He didn't start hating white people and/or police two days ago, that much is clear. And those people didn't do anything to earn his hate. Not by being born a certain race, and not by choosing a certain profession. The problem here was not that the victim's skirts were too short. They weren't asking for it.

Micah Johnson = Dylan Roof. There is no difference.

So confused...........could this be a separate incident? Or was she in cahoots w MJ? Has anyone seen anything else about her? JMO

I believe two bystanders, perhaps protesters, were injured by sniper fire. I also was aware of 3 suspects being held, one woman and two men. Two shooters are dead.

Obama did during the first statement he made this morning...........from Poland.

I should have been clearer. I was referring to it being discussed on this thread.

So, this morning Obama specifically mentioned barring ex-soldiers from possessing firearms?

I must have missed that. :)

I wonder about this too and I'm sure they have a way to address it. Imagine how many LEOs will be in Dallas for the memorials and services - does sending that many officers leave precincts vulnerable? It happens often enough they know what they're doing but in the current climate I worry.

I imagine whatever they pay comes out of their budget. A private employer is in business to make money so maybe they wouldn't pay OT, but LE isn't trying to turn a profit.

Another poster here suggested last night that DPS LE will be assisting and augmenting Dallas LE. This should hopefully give them the ability to both protect the living and honor the dead.

The media is checking into Johnson's SM activity. According to what's being reported (piles of salt are in order), he identified as a black nationalist. Think Black Panthers, or an apparent reincarnation of same. He also "liked" a black militant group calling for the killing of "anyone in blue."

I bet he didn't support BLM, actually. Peaceful protests versus armed aggression.

Repectfully, just asking.

If there were a mass shooting at a GM factory, and employees wanted to pay respects etc, I do not think their employeer would let them be on the payroll while doing so.

Do we know if all the cops standing there while waiting for the cars to come out of hospital were being paid for that? Are all the cops coming to the cop car to put flowers, are they being paid while they are doing that?

If half of the force is suppossed to be protecting a huge area, and are leaving there areas to place flowers 2 districts over, and something happens on their beat, that is a problem IMO.

Or are they just in their outfits while they are doing these personal things, before or after starting their paid shifts to protect areas??

Private sector will not pay staff to attend to personal things--just wonder if taxpayers are paying for all this. In overtime??

Just wondering................

We had a shooting in Hesston, KS at Excel Industries and I believe the company paid all of the employees until they could reopen. Does that count?

All cops aren't bad and racist. Some cops are racist and too ready to use force. Most cops are doing a very difficult, dangerous, and often thankless job.

All BLM protestors aren't bad and anti-cop. Some BLM protestors hate cops and see them/fear them as the enemy. Most BLM protestors are objecting to the actions of a small minority of cops who use unnecessary and sometimes lethal force against blacks, because they are racist, subtly or more full blown.

The majority of cops pay a steep price for the actions of a few of their own. The legitimate complaints of the majority of BLM protestors are tainted by the actions of a small minority who piggyback off BLM to express their rage.

Anyone can use anything as a justification for killing, but a killer's justification doesn't reveal any truth other than the fact of their own twisted hate, and their disregard for any life other than their own.

I wish something good will come out of this horrific tragedy, but my sad guess is that it will only intensify existing polarizations of every kind.

My first instinct was I hope BLM steps back and takes a break for a couple of days because (bbm) guessing too, it would further polarize. But OTOH, everyone saw how Dallas LE threw themselves in the line of fire to protect a peaceful protest, its citizens of Dallas, and they were just gunned down... I think the next few days are critical to see which way things will go. The strength of the other peaceful protests around the country last night may provide an important bridge of understanding.

Sending prayers of healing and hope to the families of the victims from last night's shootings. They were there to protect the protesters so that
they could have a peaceful march.

I am praying that the symbol of those bullets be used to bring people together and not tear them apart.

Praying for peace. I pray that this hateful act be turned into something else - turn towards one another not against one another.

I pray that people can come together and work together towards peace by turning this act of hate into an act of compassion towards each other.

Do we know if the folks shot were like in a confined area, or like spread out, if that makes sense?

Were the shot, "near " marchers?

That would translate to really skilled shooters. Not like Pulse, or the airport etc (with bombs) where the shooter in Pulse was two feet away, the fact that he was a skilled gunman made no real difference.

I know nothing about guns, and totally fine with that, But if these murders last night were far away, and were capable of hitting cops only, surrounded by marchers, from far away that , I would think would indicate some serious training in terms of aim??

Do we know any of this information??

I also wonder why the killer did not just shoot the robot? They are slow, and do make a noise while coming ? Or was it such a big bomb? But then we would have seen some building damage no??

I also wonder how did the story remain three shots fired for so long? Media , with cameras rolling, with audio, not capture, how many shots were actually fired by them and LE - it was loud, it was scary. It was like Watertown in boston , it was like Pulse, it was like school shootings.

These guys wanted to kill white LE, well OM wanted to kill gay people, there is no difference IMO its hate.

In reality anyone who wants to be a cop knows inherent risk, like an airplane pilot. People going to dance, had not agreed, for a paycheck , to put their lives at risk. For pilots, cops, soldiers it is a choice.

Murder is murder. Moo

No one on here is saying "blacks are
Killing our police"

Most are saying police put their lives on the line every day.

"Criminals kill police".

It's posts like this that continue to drive a wedge between people. To create discord instead of the healing dialogue we so desperately need. Isn't it time to stop this "black vs white" bull crap?

Micah X. Johnson was military trained.
