At least they're locked up & waiting for trial, and the girl is physically, but certainly not mentally, away from those two.
Can you imagine being a juror? IMO the Court will need more that the usual number of alternate jurors for this one... I remember a juror got up and hurriedly left the jury box as she was starting to vomit while seeing autopsy pictures of the horrible abuse by the boyfriend of the little girl's mom. The mom was away at military summer camp. I don't recall whether that juror stayed with the jury or was replaced.
This trial, if it gets that far, will be a horror to anyone in the courtroom, but especially for the jurors, IMO.

And I wonder if the young victim knows or remembers a different mom and/or dad, grandparents, etc. She's apparently been living in a shoebox, STS -- her world was very small and probably nearly everything she knew was pain and fear.
I also wonder if there are any good, dependable relatives who know her, or know of her, and possibly could help her. I doubt it.
It sounds like the three of them were living on a deserted and perverted island, seriously.
Hoping the child is in a good, non-threatening place with a nice room, good food, and good caregivers. She really deserves a let-down period and time for her to realize that the pain and awfulness is nowhere close. She's got a lot of healing to do; I hope eventually she will be able to trust a few folks.
