GUILTY TX - Riley 'Baby Grace' Sawyers, 2, brutally murdered, Spring, 24 July 2007

I wonder how these rumors in Mentor, Ohio got started. Rumors began circulating in July that Sawyers had the little girl:

Sheryl Sawyers last saw her granddaughter, 2-year-old Riley Ann Sawyers, May 25.
Sometime in June, Riley and her mother, 19-year-old Kimberly Trenor, moved to Spring to be with Trenor’s new husband, Sawyers said.
Sawyers said she wasn’t able to contact the family for months and sent certified letters asking for custody hearings. In July, rumors circulated around the family’s hometown of Mentor, Ohio, that Sawyers had the girl, she said.

So, both the Sawyers and Trenor have known since July that there's a discrepancy about Riley's whereabouts. Why hasn't she ever been reported as missing by anyone?

another quote from the article:

"Trenor’s family members in Ohio told Sawyers that sometime in late July, someone claiming to be a social worker came to Texas and took the girl, Sawyers said.

“They’re saying I have the baby,” Sawyers said. “I wish I did.”'

After reading that article, I am more sure than ever that Baby Grace is Riley. Children's feet at that age grow quickly, and it wouldn't be too out there for Riley to have worn a size 6 shoe last spring and be in an 8 1/2 recently. And for her to say that Riley has long, wavy hair and an outfit "just like" the one Baby Grace was found in, pretty much seals it for me.

I think Riley's mom's new husband did something to Riley.

Sadly, according to statistics, that's the most likely scenario, Englishleigh.

Another question here...if Baby Grace is Riley, then she's been "missing' since July. Investigators gave a two week estimate of how long the child had been deceased. Why would there be such a discrepancy here?

I did not realize that I lived so close to the father of "Riley" until today when I saw a little blurb in our local newspaper "Plain Dealer".

Mentor/Painseville, Ohio is approx. 30 minutes away from where I live. (Robert Sawyers lives in Painseville and the Grandparents live in Mentor)

As I am jumping in late on this thread, just wanted to say that the DNA results will give closure for one family, and for others, another day of not knowing where there child is at.

You would think if Riley were not Baby Grace and someone was just hiding her for custody dispute purposes, they would step forward publicly and show her as being alive...

Father fears 'Grace' is his

Not only are the grandparent(s) from Ohio, but the father Robert Sawyers is also fearing Baby Grace is his daughter.

The teeth look like a match to me.

All of the things in Riley's case are not adding up either... why didn't the mom give DNA for example... Poor Riley, I cannot get her out of my mind... :(

Something is definitely wrong with the whole story Riley's mom told to authorities. I doubt if any social workers would come to take a child without a police officer being present, and I'll bet that she knows that fact. She had enough sense to say that there were two social workers, but must have known that she couldn't say LE were also there since there would be records. If all the family on both sides, and friends, have no idea where Riley is, then something has to have happened.

Having recently moved, Riley's mom would have storage tubs so this sure looks very sad for Riley. Can anyone find any press on the guy they moved in with??

Here's a bit about him:

Sheryl Sawyers gave this account of how her granddaughter came to Texas:

Riley's mother, then using her maiden name, Kimberly Trenor, never married Riley's father.
Kimberly Trenor, who turned 19 in August, was 16 when she gave birth and moved in with the Sawyers. "I treated her like my daughter," Sheryl Sawyers said.
Trenor was 18 when she and Riley moved into her own house in May this year.

She met Royce Zeigler on the Internet while playing an online game, World of Warcraft. They spoke for hours on the phone and Zeigler sent her a diamond necklace.
Zeigler told her he was 26, a project manager for an oil company, who traveled the country, according to Sheryl Sawyers.
Sheryl Sawyers disapproved, causing a rift in their relationship. "I said, if you want to be foolish with your own life, that's one thing, but think about your 2-year-old daughter."

The Sawyers last saw Riley and her mother in an Ohio courtroom June 6, in a hearing to enforce Robert Sawyers' visitation rights. They were unaware that Kimberly Trenor and Royce Clyde Zeigler II were already married. They married June 1, records show.

From the article:

After Baby Grace's body was discovered last month, Sheryl Sawyers saw an artist's rendering on the Internet and phoned the Galveston Sheriff's Department.

"Could somebody go check to see that she's OK?" she asked. "Then I get the call saying that she says she doesn't have the baby."

OMG, that just gave me chills....can you imagine the hell that this woman and her son are living in right now, afraid that Baby Grace is their beautiful little Riley? I sure hope LE has Kimberly and Royce under surveillance while we are waiting. :banghead:

There's something I still can't understand here. According to one article, rumors began circulating in Mentor, Ohio in July that the Sawyers had Riley. As a result, Sheryl Sawyers reportedly called the Zieglers and asked where Riley was-- to which Royce Ziegler replied 'we have the same question.'

Did Riley actually go missing in July? If so, how and by whom did the rumors get started in Mentor, Ohio? Why weren't police sent to check on Riley in July by either side of the family? Why wasn't an Amber alert raised for the little girl in July?

And finally, if something happened to Riley in July, does this match the state of decomposition found in Baby Grace who was estimated to be dead only a few weeks when her little body was found?

Sorry if I'm rambling...

Even if the DNA doesn't match Riley's dad's they should still check the mom's. Who's to say he is Riley's biological father. Maybe she was cheating on him and she knows his DNA won't match. She may think people will let this go if he isn't a match and that's why she hasn't given a sample.

That's a good thought, there.

Do you have a link to that article? Maybe if I read that, it would become a bit clearer what you mean... it's not you, though, it's me... lol.
