GUILTY TX - Sarah Walker, 40, stabbed to death in McKinney model home, 8 July 2006

Oh Idaho, You are so fortunate that your family is interested in what you do to the point of helping like -mowing lawns. When I was at the height of selling RE and specialized in 'water' properties or small farms, I was on my own with no hubby and two teenage sons who were great but started pulling pranks because I was gone so much  In fact my eldest boy Randy told me he used to take my car out in the middle of the night to joy ride, and I never suspected a thing! Can you believe it? Well, they both turned out wonderful and I am proud of them, like you are of your guys,
It is a good thing they never told me what they did when I was sleeping, as they both might still have had a hard time walking to this day, and that was back in 1986!

Remember, if you're coming down to the wire in the decision to write it, just shut up sweetie and you've got it made. Worked for me everytime.

PS: I remember IdahoMom when I first met you here, I always pictured you standing at the kitchen sink peeling vegetables for soup in an adorable little ranch style house out in a little town like Wheeler, with Hummingbird feeders hanging from your trees and Peonies growing next to big fat whopping tomatoes in a great little garden up behind your house. And every once in a while you'd have to plug your ear if you were talking on the phone when those darn Harley guys would came riding past the house.

That is my impression of living in Idaho, or I guess how I would want to do it! What a life that would be. And here you are a big time California Realtor holding open houses like Oregon has never seen!

Baa Haa Haa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :D

LOL...that's so cute! I have daydreams of such an idyllic lifestyle! Sounds like Green Acres to an extent.:D Boise is a small-ish city that's growing up pretty fast. It's a nice lifestyle- not too big, and not too little. When I spend time in L.A., it suddenly seems really small when I get back. :)

Thanks for the advice about zipping my lip when it comes time to write an offer...that reminds me of the expression "God gave you two ears and one mouth- use them proportionately" :blushing:  :D

Have a great night Scandi! :)

A reporter from McKinney (I THINK) was on... they talked about the watch and ring. The he said (with Greta's prompting) that there was some blood other than Sara's at the scene. But I THINK that was about it... the dog was barking .. and my husband and son were going out the door at the time.. so it was hard to hear...

I DO know he mentioned blood tho'

Pamlet, you gave a good synopsis. :) Greta replayed her clip interviewing Sarah's ex, from when she had him on, telling about Sarah's new Rolex; and how he thought someone might have bought it for her because it hadn't been fitted.

They think whoever took the watch and ring, did it to throw off the investigators. Hmmmm....

The reporter said the blood found, thought to be that of the perp, is still being tested.

I also caught that many of the wounds she suffered were defensive wounds. Not sure if that was spoken or in the banner at the bottom. In the clip that was shown the husband used his right hand to demonstrate just how loose the watch was on her. Seemed to be about two or three inches below his watch on his left wrist. That's mighty loose and doesn't sound like it was bought from a jeweler. The husband said that she said " I bought myself something...a gift from me to me" not exact words but close.

Thanks Liz..

I think the long watch could have been that it was a gift..

OR it could have been purchased on the black market, and she hadn't gotten it fixed yet... in which case it's unlikely it would be traceable.. or at least more difficult to trace..

Another question I have .. is how do they know it was a REAL Rolex .. I imagine there are VERY good fakes out there... (this may have all been specualted on previously..).

I did ask early on if this was a fake Rolex and did learn that it had a $6k price tag. That would probably be a real one, the fakes are a fraction. I had guessed a price of about 10K, but 6k would make sense for a real one.

It came out in the newspapers here that they found a receipt showing where she had purchased the Rolex and the David Yurman ring the day before the murder. This would rule out that they were a gift to her.

I still think the husband may be involved since he brought up the Rolex watch on his TV interview and he saw her the morning of the murder. Maybe she had something on him that she threatened to tell his fiance about and he became enraged and the more he thought about it during the day, the madder he got.

Who else would know she'd be in the model home alone? Or maybe he just drove out there to have a showdown with her and things got out of hand. The papers said it was a small (2 1/2") bladed knife, possible a man's pocket knife which lots of men carry.

I just wish the papers would come out with some more information.

Caught the replay of Greta....Apologies for not being more accurate. The jist was that Sara's ex emailed Greta after Monday night's show and said: Sara's son or my son was with her when she bought the Rolex. Sorry didn't catch who's son was kinda tuning the show out until I heard email and Sara's name.

He is the one that was showing Greta how much to big the watch was for Sara and thought it might have been a gift from someone but then their son told him that he was with his mother when she bought the watch? Maybe she didn't have time to have it fitted when she bought it and planned to take it in in a day or two. Lordy, I can't even imagine paying that much money for a watch. In my mind that is a real waste of money. I could do a lot with $6,000 and it wouldn't be to buy a watch. That is just me though.

Here is an article I found on the Real Estate Bloggers about this case.

While there are no suspects in the murder of Sarah Anne Walker, the case is still being investigated. The police have determined that she was stabbed with a smaller knife more than 20 times and that the person who attacked her was a smaller man or woman. She also had her Rolex watch stolen. The watch, a Datejust Rolex, had the Jubilee band of gold and silver.

Crime Stoppers has also added 10,000 dollars to the reward fund bringing it up to 40,000 dollars for the arrest and conviction of Sarah Anne Walker’s murderer.

Police now say it’s possible she was stabbed so many times because she fought with her killer.

Possibly a small man, or maybe even a woman killed Walker… police won’t go into detail about blood spatter evidence, but they are talking about a possible murder weapon.

“It could be your standard folding-blade pocketknife,” said Chief Doug Kowalski, McKinney Police Department.

Kowalski says the person who killed Walker used a single blade knife. The blade was not serrated but had a clean edge, and was about 2-1/2 inches long.

Police say it is possible Walker knew her attacker, but there are also other possibilities. “It could also mean that she struggled and fought - which we believe she did. It was somebody that had difficulty obtaining control over her,” Kowalski said.

This is the first news I've seen with any sort of description about the killer.
Wonder how tall her ex-husband is........
