Billy Centeno is hurting right now, because one of his role models is missing.
"Everybody is questioning, what, why, or how," he said. "People at first couldn't believe it. It was so out of character."
Mayer was off of work on May 2nd, when he last spoke to his wife earlier that afternoon. The 47-year-old had baseball practice that Wednesday evening, but never showed up. Scott's brother, Jeff, said his disappearance just doesn't make sense.

Over the weekend, baseball players huddled together to pray for the family. They're part of a top league Mayer started several years ago.
"We miss and we love you," Centeno said. "We need you. Now is the time that we need our general. We need our guy who steers the ship."
