1120 Empire Central Place imo

ETA You can see that building in the link below. Also there’s a picture of the suspect’s car parked next to the fire escape. imo
I’m adding another link of 1120 Empire Central Place with an aerial view. Maybe somebody could point out the ICE building.

I haven't heard anything about a scope. My suspicion is that he wanted to shoot up ICE and wasn't aiming that well.
I think it’s odd that LE is presumably releasing photos of evidence within an hour of the shooting. Same as the last shooting. Not buying it until I see photos linked from the LE or prosecution web site.

It’s also odd that the Asst Secy of DHS posted on Twitter that everyone should pray for the ICE agents, the victims of the attack. I thought only the illegal aliens were killed or injured. Did I miss something?

So much confusion and misinformation. I’ll wait until all the evidence is sorted out.

From google earth 1120 Empire Central Pl · 1120 Empire Central Pl, Dallas, TX 75247

the building the shooter fired from has the red pin, and the ICE building is directly across the street.

"Disturbing note

found inside suspected shooter's car.

A horrifying poster appears to be taped to the side of the vehicle that investigators believe belonged to Dallas ICE shooting suspect Joshua Jahn.

Investigators have focused on a car parked outside a building next to the Dallas ICE facility.

The vehicle is believed to belong to Jahn.

A sign with what appears to be black splatter on the car reads:

'Radioactive fallout from nuclear detonations that've passed over these areas more than 2x since 1951'."

Okay, this is definitely making me think the guy was a conspiracy theorist of some sort

if true it begs the question how do we prevent the radicalization of the young American. We've seen it way too often lately. A young person, usually male, who is not known to have extreme ideology or sometimes even appears to have a completely different viewpoint, suddenly develops an extreme ideology and does something totally out of pocket, murdering someone(s) over said ideals?

It is so disheartening to see this play out over and over in these cases.

Thankfully I did not see the shooter’s dead body here at all, but there is information about the note he affixed to his car.

IMO there is evidence of paranoia in that note.

That image is not one created by the shooter. It's easy to locate on Reddit, and I also located it at https://history.byu.edu/downwinders (last image on that page). The shooter is certainly not a "downwinder" based on age, so maybe expressing anxiety over perceived modern threats?

For anyone not familiar with the term "downwinder, it "is a person who was likely exposed to radiation from the [open-air] testing of nuclear weapons in the United States." - between the 1940s and early 1960s. The Huntsman Cancer Institute has this summary:

Unfortunately I've already seen it quite by accident. I would STRONGLY caution anyone, before viewing this horribly graphic image.
Thank you for the warning.

I wonder if he could have developed strong views on that topic because of an older friend, mentor or family member's cancer or own negative life experience of nuclear testing?

FBI officials were spotted outside two homes: one in Fairview, Texas in Collin County, and another in Durant, Oklahoma, which is directly north of Dallas on I-75.

The world has seen it before, unfortunately. There are many alive today who remember it happening the last time and shudder to see it happening again.

I looked closely at the photo and couldn’t see any tape or other material affixing it to the car. In addition, the flyer looks distorted or stretched. JMO, it may be photoshopped.

DHS correcting to only one detainee killed…

And all were detainees, correct? That’s what CNN reported

So the statement from DHS claiming the ICE agents were victims is in error, unless there’s some solid evidence that ICE agents were also victims. If not, DHS needs to clarify.

Prayers for the detainee victims and their families. I hope the survivors recover.

Agree. So far, what’s being reported doesn’t make any sense at all. If someone is allegedly “anti ice” why would they target the victims of ICE?
If you have no regard for human life then bystanders wouldn't really matter as long as you hit your target.

But in this case, they didn’t hit their alleged target.

The flyer is visible in multiple MSM images and also on MSM news remote camera/video angles you can see it on the rear right quarter panel of the car, though that news video is zoomed out and nothing on the paper would be clearly visible from that angle / distance.
16:39-ish on this video: Live updates: 1 dead, two in critical condition after Dallas ICE facility shooting
and static photo image here: LIVE UPDATES | Dallas ICE Shooting: Sniper dead; 3 ICE detainees shot
in addition to the Daily Mail photo up-thread.

I’ll need more evidence. Like the other horrifying shooting incidents, it helps to get all the facts first. The FBI and DHS have a lot of money and tools at their disposal.

I try not to rely on tabloids for information.

JMO, right now the alleged writing on ammo and the flyer pasted on the car need further verification. The shooter’s identity information seems solid, but it will take some time to investigate his activities leading up to the shooting.

The statement by the DHS acknowledged both the victims of the shooting and the LE who were targets of the shootings, which one would expect from the Department whose employees could have been killed as the killer was shooting indiscriminately.
