Yes, for one thing, you didn't quote them correctly. It’s also odd that the Asst Secy of DHS posted on Twitter that everyone should pray for the ICE agents, the victims of the attack. I thought only the illegal aliens were killed or injured. Did I miss something?
Actual post:
"Pray for the victims of the Dallas Field Office Attack."
"Like everyone else, our ICE law enforcement officers just want to go home to their families at night. They are fathers and mothers. Sons, and daughters, brothers and sisters."
There would be no error in saying ICE agents were victims, someone was trying to assasinate them, they were being shot at and witnessed other humans being hit and dying and not being able to save them. Their families know they could be killed anytime at work, they all now have a lifetime of dealing with surviving this horrific attack. If the shooter had survived, he would have been charged with murder and attempted murder. So the statement from DHS claiming the ICE agents were victims is in error, unless there’s some solid evidence that ICE agents were also victims. If not, DHS needs to clarify.
Prayers for the detainee victims and their families. I hope the survivors recover.
ALL of the victims, deceased and alive, and their families should be on the minds of anyone offerring prayers.
