TX - Shots fired, injuries reported at ICE facility in Dallas - Sept 24, 2025

Maybe not covering up but maybe not reporting everything to follow a narrative.

Jmo
I haven't seen anything to indicate that anyone's doing anything to follow a narrative, as you state.

It's completely normal for LE not to report everything, and as they answered in the Q&A today at the presser, some things will not be disclosed because it's an ongoing investigation at this time. That's just standard investigation 101.

Larson said that early Wednesday morning, Jahn was seen driving his car with a long ladder. Officials believe he used the ladder to access the roof of an office building near the Dallas ICE facility, from where he started firing at about 6:30 a.m.

Another note found at the suspect's residence said, "Yes, it was just me," Larson said.

He "very likely" acted alone and "indicated he did not expect to survive the attack," officials said during a press conference on Thursday.

Jahn used an 8 mm bolt-action rifle in the shooting, officials said during a press conference on Thursday.

The suspect had purchased the weapon legally in August, according to Joe Rothrock, the special agent in charge of the Dallas FBI field office.

Larson also revealed the suspect left a handwritten note that said, "Yes, it was just me and my brain," which indicated to investigators that he acted alone in the shooting.

Officials are not aware of Jahn having a membership in any specific group or entity.

Ugh, 4chan. Isn't that where the gruypers hang out? Bad news, if so
Yeah, this seems like a copycat of Tyler Robinson. These nihilist, extremely online young men seem to be tipping from edgelords into violent shooters with more frequency. It's like slightly older school shooters IMO. The Columbine shooters would have fit right in on 4chan if it had been around at the time.

Thanks for the link and this information. ^^^

J. Jahn was pretty clear in his motive.
Despicable.
An innocent human being was murdered and two others are fighting for their lives with serious injuries.
None of them deserved that.
Imo.
And on top of his motive to terrorize law enforcement by shooting indiscriminately into the Homeland Security building, the killer stated that detainees could be collateral damage as he carried out his plan. Had the killer lived, he would have likely faced federal charges of domestic terrorism and the death penalty.

One dead detainee and two critically injured detainees - just collateral damage to the killer.

Seems like the first thing they teach you in conspiracy school.

Anti-ICE gunman Joshua Jahn’s gamer pals made ghoulish jokes after deadly shooting: ‘Shoulda hit the range a lil more’

The 29-year-old gunman played mostly first-person shooting games, logging over 17,405 hours of playing time, totaling approximately two years.
Total amateur.
"Larson said another note said he expressed “hatred” for the federal government, using “crude” language which she did not elaborate on."

That's also a characterization of what was found. I think most everyone would just rather see it for themselves than just trust we're being told the unvarnished truth.

Well i am glad he decided to take his own life because as it is death row is like 20 years plus at tax payers expense.

I hope the other 7 on that gamer site are talked to by fbi and are being monitored.

OT

I know a mid-twenty fellow that does not work and is a gamer, I will not go to any family functions or affairs were he will be there, I do not trust him.

I get that. Maybe they'll release images of that eventually.

That's sad. Unfortunately we are seeing an increase of that sort of lifestyle being connected to extreme violence.

I know we're all on different sides of the aisle but I think we all agree it's terrible this kind of thing is happening at all, by anyone, for any reason.

DALLAS (AP) — The gunman who opened fireon an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas hated the U.S. government and wanted to incite terror by killing federal agents, officials said Thursday, offering the first hint of a motive in the attack.

Citing handwritten notes found at his suburban home, authorities said 29-year-old Joshua Jahn set out to ambush the agency and then fatally shot himself following the assault.

If his intentions were to incite terror, I'd like to resist that by seeing him for what he was - a loser punk, with advantages he squandered, and with a gun ended his own life in a shameful, destructive way. No reason to think more of him than that.

Don't give him the power to incite fighting amongst ourselves. imo

MY OPINION.

Mentally ill with hatred towards ICE
Agreed.
Possibly an incel as well ?
There are no bright linings to this tragedy ; unless one wants to count that it looks like the killer was very clear about his motive.
Sometimes that's not always the case.

Not much for his fellow gamers to conspiracy theorize about.
J. Jahn hated ICE according to evidence left behind; and instead took an innocent life and injured two others.
The actions of a loser.
Sadly there's not much in the way of preventing this from happening again.

Unless people start paying close attention to what's being aid in gaming platforms but even then a lot of it is just talk and hot air.
Haven't heard about how the two injured people are doing, hope they're recovering fully.
Imo.

Could be a Kar 98 in 8mm Mauser

Jmo

Quoting my post.

Joshua Jahn, 29, used an antique 8mm Mauser rifle when he opened fire on a bus that was unloading at the federal building, the FBI confirmed on Thursday.

Tyler Robinson is accused of using his grandfather’s .30-06 rifle — which also has a German Mauser bolt action — to shoot Kirk from about 200 yards away.

"Dallas ICE shooter, 29,

spent SEVENTEEN THOUSAND hours

playing video games before opening fire.

A gunman who opened fire at an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement facility and killed a migrant
was a recluse with an all-consuming habit.

Joshua Jahn, 29,
spent 17,400 hours in the run up to Tuesday's shooting in Dallas
playing video games, including violent shoot-em-up adventures.

Jahn's profile on Steam
- an online gaming store -
showed he played about 17,400 hours on various games as recently as the day of the shooting.

He increasingly spent his free time gaming and posting on notorious anonymous forum 4chan,
where his outbursts fit right in.

'I mostly stopped talking to him when he took his 4chan/irony stuff into daily interactions',
one friend said."

For kids today, to have logged ~17,000 hours playing games on Steam is nothing. It’s an online gaming platform where you download and play games, so it tracks everything you’ve done on your account. He’s at least had that account since 2012 per the NY Post article posted previously (that was the year his gamer buddy group was formed, so he may have had it before that).

What the article fails to mention but is shown clearly in the second photo in the quoted post, is that in the past two weeks, he only played games on steam for 3.6 hours total. That is weird. Were shooting games no longer of great interest to him, contrary to the article? If I did the math right, appx. 17,000 hours over 13 (at minimum) years would be 3 hours per day. So why recently was it only three hours in 14 days, especially if he was currently unemployed as the article states? Odd.
