TX- State vs. Nelson, Mona Yvette

Here's my thinking. DD was the last one to see Jonathan at 1:45, told him his mother was on her way home. Went to the bar which is a good alibi. Where was he from 3-6:30 when the body was dumped? If you guys recall his comments when Jonathan was missing that it was bad whatever happened to him. I think he plays a bigger part then what he leads.

Stepfather of boy testifies against woman accused of killing him

KPRC (NBC) _ Houston, TX

HOUSTON -
Dramatic testimony Friday in the case of a murdered 12-year-old boy. That child's stepfather took the stand, testifying against the woman who is accused of killing the child.

Snipped:

Sergeant Roger Chapel testified he questioned Nelson about how the carpet ended up in her trash. Nelson's attorney's fought hard to keep her answers from being allowed into evidence, but they were overruled by the judge.

"Once her confession comes in, it's no longer circumstantial evidence. Once her confession comes in she's going to be convicted based on her own words, her own testimony, her own admission," said Brian Wice, Local 2 Legal Analyst.

Snipped:

Testimony resumes Monday morning at 10am. Prosecutors are expected to present a videotape they're calling a key piece of evidence in their case against Nelson.

VIDEO: Victim's stepfather testifies in capital murder trial

The judge tossed out a piece of evidence that could have helped the prosecution's case

I played the video and I'm not sure if it's my computer but I could barely hear anything with my volume full blast and the player volume on max. I saw some fuel tanks (for blow torches) and an image of a carpet unrolled with massive damage to it (at the end of video).

I don't think it will matter anyway since it's just the judge.

Evidence ties slain boy to defendant

By Cindy Horswell | August 16, 2013
Houston Chronicle - Houston, TX

Prosecutors on Friday held up a gray sweatshirt, decorated with Looney Tunes cartoon characters, identical to a missing shirt that Angela Davis said belonged to her slain 12-year-old son.

With eyes blurred with tears, Davis had earlier told the court how her red-headed fifth-grade son, Jonathan Foster, danced with joy when she initially gave him the sweatshirt a few weeks before he was kidnapped on Christmas Eve 2010. He swore he would always wear it, she said.

But Houston police investigator Roger Chappell testified the sweatshirt, introduced as evidence Friday, was found stuffed in a trash can outside the apartment of the boy's accused killer, Mona Nelson. It also had drops of Nelson's blood splattered on the back, prosecutors said.

This sweatshirt, a burned area rug that a cadaver dog indicated had the scent of a dead body, and some singed twine similar to what had bound the boy's arms were pulled from that trash can.

Evidence thrown out in capital murder trial of woman accused of killing boy

Updated at 07:08 PM today

KTRK (ABC) - Houston, TX

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A judge tossed out evidence against a woman accused of kidnapping and killing a little boy. That move comes as the defense continues to cast suspicion on the child's stepfather. The jury also heard from the man who placed Mona Nelson at the scene of the boy's abduction, but that may not matter.

Snipped:

The judge agreed, suppressing the lineup as the evidence she'll consider. While that might have mattered to a jury, this is different.

So what evidence got thrown out?
Matou, the line up got thrown out. Judge Barr will not consider it in her deliberations.

Please see above comment #153 & video. Towards the end of the video, Reporter D. Wrigley states "line up" got thrown out.

Something struck me pretty hard...In the newscast video, when the attorneys brought out the carpet and MN covered her nose and mouth...

Body language. It immediately brought to mind Patti Wood's analysis during the Casey Anthony trial.

"20:18? As he talks about the order of decomposition Casey covers her nose with the Kleenex using both hands and then does that odd dramatic wiping of one eye at a time as if wiping away the evidence from her view. He ( the scientist ) examined the evidence she takes her hands covers her nose and mouth and her lower lids with both hands and wipes as if she is covered with the sickening sight and the smell and wants to wipe it off."

If you watch the video closely, you can see MN's expression in her eyes, behind her hands. That expression speaks volumes to me. MOO.

I wonder why Mona didnt just go all of the way and confess to this crime? She did all but...sheesh.

WTF did that evil, vile, 🤬🤬🤬, do to that sweet, innocent, boy? :furious:

His Looney Toon sweater that he loved, had HER blood on the back? I'm not sure that we want to hear the details. She tortured him. : furious:

All he wanted to do was stay with his Mom.

I am so sorry, Renee. This must be absolutely devastating. Stay strong. :hugs:

RIP Jonathan. What a horrible hand you were dealt in this life. So thankful you'll never know pain, abandonment, or the need to be accepted ever again! All you'll know forever and ever is LOVE!!!

I got lost during the thread moving to Trials. I'm late to the party, but I'm here!!

I'm not liking what I read about all the suspicion being cast on DD. I hope the strength of the evidence against MN is rock solid.
