Hold your horses, equal time and consideration for the statement that it was so obviously not a planned murder of anyone, especially not of Missy. IMO

I tend to feel Missy was targeted but, it's possible someone was casing the church for a robbery, or a mass shooting and was caught off guard, and killed her so there were no eyewitnesses. Anything is possible.
Since there are no suspects it makes me wonder if maybe it was a complete stranger and they accidently and unfortunately crossed paths that morning.

Targeted answer: Obviously they were there to hurt Missy and not steal anything. Not targeted: Obviously the suspect did not want to take anything with them that could link them back to the crime.

true! I go back and forth over and over again, but maybe something small was taken and even the church didn't consider it or miss it. A small sum of money?
The thief was disappointed about ready to leave when Missy entered.
My first git feeling is someone had her killed to benefit from her death, insurance money.
But LE insists her husband and his family are NOT suspects so that leaves me wondering who else had issues with her. Girlfriends of men she dated?
It drives me crazy this perp was caught on video and still no POI even.

Have you ever heard of the literal clown killer Shiela Warren? Dressed up as a clown to deliver flowers to her love rival and shoot her in the face at her doorstep in front of her young son.

That was a heartbreaking case and is apropos here because it was a woman shooter, and I think the perp in this case is a woman (thus the height) and specifically targeted Missy. She went around destroying random property to make it look like a robbery or vandalism and/or possibly to give the impression of being a teenage .

An easier explanation for the strange gait is a woman wearing oversized men’s shoes. The person in the video is walking the way I see kids do when wearing a bigger person’s shoes and they are trying to keep them from coming off, or the way I do when I’ve had a pedicure and I’m trying to walk out of the salon in those silly flimsy flops. Watching the way the person “winds up” when hitting things and a couple of places the stance just looks like a woman to me.

I’m reminded of the murder of Cari Farver at the hands of Liz Golyar. The catfishing made it a mess to unpack. Perhaps there’s a similar red herring in Missy’s case.

Thanks for the reminder @lydiafaithfull of that case of Cari. That was a sad and horrid case. And yes, at the hands of Liz G. There could well be some parallels perhaps here.

I kept hoping in that case…. that authorities would somehow work to convince Liz to help them find Cari’s remains…… (in an attempt to help convince her it might exonerate her)…… MOO

Tl/dr: FBI database indicates that a homicide of a woman the same age as MB in that location on that date was committed with a gun.

No one knows why LE uses this odd verbal circumlocution rather than saying she was shot. There may have been other wounds, or not, but we don't know.

I am not quite sure that she was targeted. Also, I think that there is a reason why we are conflicted as to whether it is a man or a woman. I am not thinking, nonbinary, but the person may be XO, for example. Something about this short next and some puffiness. Unclear. I wish we saw more body traits, hands.

Maybe MB was targeted, or perhaps the perpetrator was one of those who “always wanted to do it, and couldn’t miss the chance.”

Don’t laugh - it comes out of nowhere- but i suddenly got an idea that the perp always wanted to be a policeman and was denied, for whatever reason. He either goes to places where there is police and watches their gait, mimic or gestures, or he can even call 911, hide and watch them. This is how his behavior looks like. “Playing the policeman.” Maybe he dressed in a police uniform on Halloween?

I also believe she was likely targeted, but, this was Texas. Extremely common to have open or concealed carry.

Oh I’m not opposed to her having a gun at all it’s more about her frame of mind or her why she was worried. Was it ever said who/why she felt like being watched? Because of this, I believe it was a targeted attack.

I also believe she was targeted but I’ve never felt like Missy was too awfully concerned, otherwise I can’t picture her (or maybe I’m just speaking for what I would do if I was in her shoes) willingly going to an empty church alone at 430 in the morning.

As it is, I am quite muscular, former army special forces support, etc. Last night, a strange incident lead to my wife concerned about the house her uncle let it’s stay in for Christmas.I couldn’t see into the attic and the light was on. I don’t take chances, and asked her to call her uncle and bring a gun with him. Point being; if I felt threatened, watched, or stalked at all, I wouldn’t be stepping foot into an empty church at 430 alone.

I was somewhat stalked by a boyfriend as I was trying to end the relationship. I knew who it was so I had a much better idea of his schedule, where he would be likely to be watching me, etc so there were places and times I felt safe. For example, he was a police officer so if he was working I knew he wouldn’t be able to stalk me outside of a certain area. I went to school in a nearby city and he was NOT a city person so I felt safe being at school or in the city with friends. The reason I mention this is that IF Missy felt she was being stalked - even if she didn’t know WHO it was - maybe she had begun to sense a pattern of times/places that she felt she was being stalked. Maybe she felt safe at the Church at that early hour because she had never sensed this person at that time/place. Sadly we all know that bad things DO happen in places of worship, but a lot of people inherently (although incorrectly) believe that these are safe places.

IMO Missy was targeted, but the who and why seem to be unknown - at least to the public. I also go back and forth as to whether the person is male or female - I tend to think female, but it could also be a somewhat effeminate male. I appreciate a previous statement in which, if IIRC, an FBI forensic podiatrist said that the person’s gait was likely affected by the “gear” they were wearing and not related to being male or female. I actually have, and this is strictly IMO, that it may be a pregnant woman - just something about the way they walked.

I appreciate what you’re getting at, but I don’t think your experience as a man is reflective of Missy’s, mine, or any other woman that happens to be reading this. If my daily routine were dictated by how safe I felt in my environment, I’d never leave the house. My subconscious is a never ending news ticker of violence against women and missing girls. It never subsides. All we can do is lull ourselves into a false sense of security with Ring notifications, neighborhood apps, pepper spray, etc. No one is going to pay my bills if I live like a recluse, and I’m sure Missy felt the same.
