Because she was an entrepreneur-type, I can see MB making connections through LinkedIn, and it's not a stretch to imagine that people in her life would know she's active on LinkedIn...so that would be a sneaky way to contact her with creepy messages.

But wouldn't that involve creating a dummy account? You can't just contact someone on LinkedIn without an account that identifies you, right?

Someone upthread mentioned getting unsolicited messages through LinkedIn, so maybe the creepy messages to Missy are a red herring? IDK.

Doesn't the warrant say that the friend who talked to LE about the weird and creepy message could not recall the name of the person who sent the message to Missy?

I have downloaded all of the .pdf files that Beach added for us on page 1. I do not see anywhere the list of 7 names in the .pdf files as they are. Is the only way to read the complete information in the Scribd version? Thank you if you know - I am probably not the only reader having this problem.

yeah but I thought it wouldn't actually go to their Message folder and it goes to an "other" folder so people don't always see those messages

Yes, typically if you don't have any connections, but since they do-AT- then it probably would go to her inbox. But just thought about this as I was typing the message wouldn't be coming from CT so the yes it might go to the "others" folder.

While we had a little "break", I was sitting here thinking how weird it is that Missy carried on this "familiar and flirtatious" conversation with this guy on LinkedIn AND another guy (or girl, we don't know for sure) ALSO sends Missy a message on LinkedIn. I know people use LinkedIn, but I would think that if someone wanted to send her a creepy message, they would send it on her FB. I don't know....I just can't help but feel that the two are related in some way.

I was wondering this too. One explanation could be that whoever sent the message to scare her (if that was their intention) knew her well and knew she used LinkedIn for flirting. People having affairs often end up having their texts and FB messages monitored by their spouses after getting caught. It's possible MB used LinkedIn for flirting because it was more private/secret. If I was suspicious my spouse was cheating, or they had cheated on me in the past and I wanted to see if it was happening again, I wouldn't even think to spy on their LinkedIn because it seems so benign and like a very unlikely way to flirt/sext. I'd be focused on FB, texts, seeing if they'd downloaded tinder, etc. Plus, texts and FB messenger show up as notifications on your phone in an obvious way, but LinkedIn is easy to shut off the notifications without anyone thinking anything of it. So let's say MB used LinkedIn for flirting to avoid getting caught by BB or by someone else she was dating on the side who looked at her phone when they were together. Only someone who already knew she did so would think to use LinkedIn to send her a creepy message.

For example, CW knew she used LinkedIn in this way because that's how they communicated. Anyone he told would also know. We don't know if CW was the only one she flirted with on there. Theoretically if she also used LinkedIn to flirt with AT, and CT found out somehow, CT could then in retaliation send MB a creepy message from a fake account with the intention of scaring her. Totally speculating and could be WAY off base, just really curious about the LinkedIn thing because when I first read the warrant I thought that was so odd. Like I think of LinkedIn as the most boring of all social media accounts and the last place I'd expect to find a sexting situation happening.

I think the "danger to other human beings" may be children. Ugh.

That makes perfect sense that she would spend lots of time on there. When looking at her LinkedIn profile she had 500 people on there. I am certain it's safe to say she didn't know them all on an extremely personal level, in fact I bet most were simply acquaintances at best. So it could have been a red herring, or she could have had an idea of who it was but played it off when talking to her friend, by saying she didn't know the person, but the fear was real!

I'd say so! Especially an MBA from SMU!

CT is very intelligent. She has an undergrad from SMU and an MBA from Dallas Baptist. She and AJ were high school sweethearts at Arlington Bowie and she worked in the executive world. Just one year ago, she left her career as a Budget Analyst at an aircraft company where she worked 9 years. Her fourth was born 9 months ago. She is currently the treasurer of the PTA in her children's school district. My uncle knows her parents and they are great people, a wonderful family. AJ was a sergeant in the Army and spent four years serving our country. That's why this entire thing is so difficult. Even CW is connected to people I know and he has a lovely, amazing wife. Everyone I know thinks highly of him. He served our country. It's all so difficult.

And someone asked about the other couple listed. I'm not certain, but I think one of them might have been the camper first to arrive that day. The gentleman teaches spin class in town. They are both really into fitness. The people connected to Missy that I know did not recognize their name.

Yes, that's the only way I have been able too.

What if SnapChat was used? Are those texts traceable or do they just disappear?

"'We don't have information that indicates the killer talked to any target numbers, nor do we have specific information to believe the killer video recorded the murder,' said Midlothian Assistant Police Chief Kevin Johnson."
...
"Family and friends initially investigated in the case are not considered suspects at this time, according to police. In addition, police emphasized the 9 people whose 'Target Numbers' were listed in the warrants, are not considered suspects at this time. Police have not narrowed down any persons of interest into a single suspect."

They are grasping at straws. Pretty soon we'll hear that they are conducting traffic stops on 287 to ask people if they saw anything unusual on April 18th. Sigh.

I thought they looked like the floppy ones that people were looking at a week or so back. Like boot covers. IDK.

No way. Socks like that are meant to be tight fitting so they stay on the feet.

They are getting close, I believe. This was the period she was in Austin with AT and it is also the period she received the "creepy" message...April 15.

Yes, the timing is no coincidence, imo.

I suggested above the creepy messages might be a red herring. I take that back. I think the messages are significant.

The linked in thing makes me more suspicious of the fellow she was "flirting" with already on that website. I am a member of several garage sale Facebook sites and someone can message me even though we aren't friends. I'm kinda confused now about who I think could be responsible for this heinous crime. I just really want someone to be held responsible to the fullest extent of our great Texas justice.

Snapchat is a different ballgame, because it is a completely different. This is what it says.

Sorry, just saw that a bunch of you beat me to it only a lot more concisely. I can't keep up with you guys!

I was thinking it might be that Missy had shared with her husband her concern with these strange message(s?) she was getting . That could explain why he was particularly worried about her safety when he went out of town. And this also explains why she may have seemed quieter or tense (can't recall the exact words we were told) recently. I think the family is more aware than we know of the possible background to this target on Missy and that is why they (her family, in particular) are staying out of the media.

I'm only a mere 30 pages behind, so perhaps it's already been said, but I have to say this out loud, right now. … what if Swatperp used MB's cell phone to do the picture-taking/recording?

I believe (and it's JMO) that the creepy message(s) did come from a dummy/fake account used to scare her because it's just too coincidental with the timing of her murder.

sunsetbeach, what did they say in the WFAA news story?

I don't recall a woman killing another woman in such a brutal way. Strikes me as odd.
Several cases last few years where a woman has cut a baby out of a pregnant woman, can't get much more brutal than that.
