BBM: Ha! I can't remember why we are pursuing this either. :blushing:

Boredom because everything else has been discussed? ;)

 it is crazy that we're 7 days and 3000+ posts in and, despite having more CCTV footage than we ever usually get, we still don't even know whether the killer is male or female. Or indeed anything else about what happened other than from the initial timeline. We haven't even got a solid CoD.

So, why are the police being so quiet? Are they just waiting to pounce; watching and listening for someone to trip up?

I've not considered the footage clear enough to see a microphone. I don't rule it out, just I thought they just as well could have been fiddling with their equipment.

Right around the :59 mark of the long video, standing in front of the bulletin board. Now, it is possible he/she is just moving tools around, but he/she kind of hold his/her head up and puts the right hand up by the neck.

I'm sure LE has checked all the domestic violence incidents that have occured in last few years in area. If this perp can kill, she/he has probably had some kind of incident before at school or work etc. as well. IMO

Lovin' your list, Bill. Just confused on the last point, what does "keying a microphone" mean?

I mean I think he (using generically) is wearing a communications device, like a walkie-talkie, and he has headphones in his ears, and it is the type of device that he would need to push a button to talk, kind of like the volume control on iPhone earbuds.

I'm leaning toward the possibility that the perp was not working alone. The seeming nonchalance could be because he has someone tipping him off to MB's approach/arrival.

MOO.

I've been reading on and off today and I see there really isn't any "new" news today.

I do have a question, though. An acquaintance of mine was tagged in a photo this morning of the workout in Midlothian. The comments said that there is still a police presence at these workouts. Is this common given the situation or can we read more into it? Just wanted some opinions on it. I can see that it might just be standard operatin procedure but I can also see how we could read more into it. Thanks

I'm thinking it's standard procedure since no one has been arrested. Since they don't know why MB was killed, they're being cautious in case it was related to CG in some way.

Here is my list:

1. Clothing.
Can be purchased anywhere by anyone

2. Professional Breach Equipment (the tools used to pry open doors and such).
Can be purchased anywhere by anyone

3. Even though the person is right-handed (see use of hammer), opens doors and uses flashlight with LEFT hand, which would be standard LE training procedure so you keep your dominant hand free in case you need to draw your service weapon.
Ambidextrous. So am I.

4. The way they hold the flashlight up to eye level instead of extending it out. (think HGN test, when the officer flashes the light in a DWI suspect's eyes)
Most people where I live hold a flashlight this way. Lol

5. The way the perp seems to slightly crouch and peer around corners, opens all unlocked doors as though a security check.
All criminals do that.

6. Methodical way of checking the building---first checks all exterior rooms clockwise and then interior rooms clockwise.
This female was not methodical. She was clumsy, lazy, scattered, and ridiculously inept

7. Perp reaches for something near his/her throat (in front of bulletin board) that appears to be keying a microphone.
Maybe she had an itch

My responses in red

Bill - Why do you think "fake cop" methodically checking the hallway - room by room? Is that the front entrance? At 5 am, you would think there would be no other person in the building, so does not make sense.... He even tried to jimmy open a locked door and was looking into every room---even the split door room. Eerie!

Any chance that this video footage is not pre- attack, but during attack? Could Missy have ran off during attack, and hiding. So, he went door by door to find her? What room is at the end of the video, where they appear to break the glass to get in? Didn't they say she was found surrounded by glass? Was this the kitchen? What is Room #12 that peeps mention? Trying to catch up!

The only thing that I was questioning was #3 on your list. The perp goes to open the door (the one I refer to as a closet) with their left hand. Finding it locked, they put something (a pry tool of some sort or maybe screwdriver? Not sure.) and then with their LEFT hand, they use the hammer to tap-tap-tap on the tool. For me, it looked like they were left handed but that is just what I thought based on the fact that I am right handed and I was trying to imagine how I would use a hammer with my left hand. For me, it wouldn't be easy. Still, I did notice that they opened the half door with their right hand so I'm not sure that I can even positively say that they are left handed.

I was commenting earlier on the Maglite. I think a large segment of our population use them. Lot of us that don't live in a city or a suburb. IMO the flashlight being held a certain way is not that unusual for that area.
I was involved in rodeo, mostly but not all by barrell racing and it doesn't seem to be unusuall but I am in a non cowboy area

This thought occurred to me last week. Lots of illegal substances float among the "fitness" crowd, including human growth hormone and steroids, not just dope.

yep ROID RAGE

Does anyone else think that the hammer object looks really shiny?Perhaps brand new?The only tool we have here that shines like that is my pink girl hammer that is in my personal tool kit.I wonder about single hammer purchases in the local hardware stores/walmart.

Just a thought.....

One thing I was starting to wonder about. Could the first camper be a lookout for the murderer? This person could have followed MB to allow a heads up about the arrival. They could also make sure no-one else enters until the building is clear. Your item 7 makes me think this is very possible. I wonder (hope) if there are mics on these cameras.

But it does look like it is typical vest to hold all needed items for a LE or security guard.

Also the inside person does not seem to worried about making noise and being in plain site before MB shows up.

Bill I really think you catch a lot of real possible scenarios.

Where did you get the idea that funeral homes have a lot of cash? I would say about o.01% of people pay for funerals in cash.
I'm a retired funeral director that had access to a safe owned by the largest funeral service company in America.

Maybe that's why PD removed the time stamp from the video...it was during attack??? Hmmmm. We know first video wasn't because it was before she got there.

The timeline of this is so tight IMO that the perp has to have planned this out to the minute which means MB was targeted. List of potential perps shouldn't be that big if this is the case. IMO perp is under surveillance and LE building case. Maybe it is because of no new evidence, but I am pondering 2 perps as well. Someone letting inside perp know it was go time.

Isn't the surveillance video time and date stamped? LE states s/he was there prior to Missy.

and I am so proud of my hometown cops that they knew they do not deal with criminal like this so didnt hesitate to call in the big boys to help out. I just love that about them as some LE have egos but not our guys they are really good

First of all, I believe he (generic "he") was looking for the security recording equipment, so that's why he wanted to get in the locked doors.

But I've come to a different conclusion about the room with the Dutch door. That room had windows where the perp could see MB drive up and get out of her car. As the time approached 4:15, I'm going to say the perp waiting in that room, looking out the window, for MB to arrive. Going further, I'm going to presume that MB headed inside the building toward the back of the building, and he followed her to where his trap was laid.

All the footage should be pre-attack, taken between 3:50 and 4:15am. They did say she was found surrounded by glass. I would not be surprised if she was attacked in the kitchen, but police have not said. They've only said that the attack did not occur on camera.
