Looks like the Meek family dismissed Kelly Brown, with prejudice, from the suit against Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home on 3/7. Interesting there has not been any mention on FB.

So that is interesting. I wonder why they would need to sue Boxwell Brothers and not KB? From my understanding, KB was the one holding things up. But since they aren't including him, one can only assume he isn't the reason for holding things up.

Hello ladies and gentlemen. I wanted to come here and clear up a couple things that I have noticed there was some misunderstanding, misinformation or just general curious statements.

1. There was never anything said defamatory or any type of civil conspiracy that happened from Lehman/Moore towards Tucker Brown. If you go to her FB timeline and read and listen to the post she was dragged into the lawsuit over you'll clearly see that she was only correcting something that Philip Klein said on his podcast while flapping his mouth about things HE clearly made mistakes on while reporting this case to the public. Philip Klein said there was a someone else in the home the night Tom went missing.She made a post about this and asked some questions about it and posted the audio of Philip saying there was someone else in that house that night and he wasn't referring to Taylor Russell. In that very same post she called Philip Klein a "DUMBASS and LIAR" and I have it on good information that she stands by that opinion to this day. She also asked the question of "Where was Tucker Brown?" Because Philip Klein gave the wrong information of where Tucker was and who he was with at certain times during the night which also brings about another issue which I will discuss in a minute.

2. There was no civil conspiracy! None! Was there conversations between the defendants? Yes. But in order for there to be a civil conspiracy they would have all had to have a plan of some sort, act on this plan and for there to be something come about that was of illegal nature and I think we can all see there was nothing that happened that had any of those elements listed.

3. I wonder why out of all the bolstering that Philip has done was there not anything really said from him that he has now caught Penny, Chris and Tucker up in having to pay back all the attorneys fees for the defendants in that lawsuit? We are talking about well over $300,000? EACH!!! He has them so far in debt now that at this point they're going to lose everything they own and poor Tucker hasn't even got a foot in the ground as far as financial matters goes and he's already going to owe so much money to people that Philip Klein had personal vendettas against because they simply called him out on his lies! That's the real shame here. That lawsuit had NOTHING to do with Tom Brown and NOTHING to do with Penny Chris or Tucker and had EVERYTHING to do with Philip Klein and his ego. The Lehman/Moore part of that lawsuit says EVERYTHING about that!

Now back to #1. Anyone else find it very odd that Philip Klein just left the whole Taylor Russell thing alone? Why? Why would he not be beating that avenue down? Why would there be ZERO information about that part of the investigation? He's thrown everyone and we'll not their dog, Chance was spared, but everyone and their dog under the bus. Why was Taylor spared?

Why does it seem like no one is interested in doing a deep dive on Philip Klein and his shady past? A simple google search tells ya he isn't exactly the best PI out there so why would Penny hire him? Really odd? I'm not at all saying anything derogatory or victim blaming any one here but that question has me really perplexed!

Anyways. I just wanted to say something about this and open the door for a discussion and answer any questions and provide any information I can regarding the Lehman/Moore side of this because it's really rather interesting the things she brought forward and interesting what she had to say about her OPINION of this entire case as far as Philip Klein is concerned. And has been doing so from the very begining of this case! Long before MC came into the picture.She has ZSRO opinion on Penny Chris or Tucker and never did. And she has only her opinion that was offered along with FACTS and PROOF of the lies and misinformation that came directly from Philip Klein and directly from HIS own mouth.

Wow, I haven't kept up with this case for a few years. Now it seems to be all drama and no justice for Thomas. Tragic... my heart goes out to his mama.

Sadly because of all the lies and misinformation I don't think we will ever know what happened to Tom. The best we can hope for is that his family can move on the best they can and not be dragged thru anymore painful and costly litigations and hopefully they can get themselves away from Philip Klein and maybe find some peace somehow!

Exactly! Another member and I have regular "offline" discussions about the exact topics you bring up. I haven't brought up TR in any online posts personally but your questions are 'spot on' and are the exact questions and comments that we discussion together. TR has to have been interviewed extensively by law enforcement.

Special Comment: In The Matter of Tom Brown

Over the weekend, I have received questions from the general public and media regarding the 2nd Autopsy of Thomas Brown and the comments we made in our press release. This community in North Texas has had so many issues regarding misinformation, it is sickening. Please let this serve as our answer, which we hope helps you understand... and the answer to the suggestion and accusation of Suicide and fingers pointed at Mr. and Mrs. Meek and Tucker Brown in finding Tom's body and hiding it out of “embarrassment” on Lake Marvin Road.

First, when Tom’s remains were found, an order by the OAG and the JP at the time was made to have the remains examined. The conclusion was pending and has not been resolved for his death certificate. Years later, it is still pending.

Second, Penny Meek, Tom’s mother, requested the OAG to have Tom’s remains released to her so she could bury her child. When the request was made to the OAG, Tom’s father told Tom’s mother that he was okay with it, but he wanted nothing to do with the service and would not pay for any of the expenses. He sent this, again, to Penny Meek by email. Mrs. Meek requested that we (KIC TX) begin the process of transferring the body to Lubbock for examination, and further, Mrs. Meek wanted a private autopsy done. Mr. Brown refused to allow the examination if our firm was to (1) be involved in the autopsy, (2) not be in the room as it happened, (3) and in the end not even have the autopsy, changing his mind, unless all of his demands were met, including paying for the examination.

Third, post the position by Mr. Kelly Brown, a lawsuit was filed in Lubbock, Texas, post the refusal of another funeral home who had the body and the refusal for the release to the Texas Tech Forensics Center for examination. After much back and forth, what is called a RULE 11 was filed in the case granting the release of the body, which by that time was in the possession of the Potter County Judge. Another demand was made by Kelly Brown in the Rule 11 agreement that the report, and/or the contents of the report, would not be released to the public or media. Mrs. Meek disagreed, but eventually bowed down to the request so that Tom’s body would be examined.

The examination was finally undertaken on April 7, 2025, by the Texas Tech University Forensic Anthropology Center in Lubbock, Texas. The arrangements and requests for the examination were made by this firm as representatives of the Meek family, however, we complied with Kelly Brown’s requests. Later in April, the report was issued to all parties, including this firm as requester, Penny Meek and Family, and Kelly Brown through his legal counsel.

We have concluded, post-examination of the 1st report from the North Texas team and the 2nd report from Texas Tech University, that there is no evidence of a suicide. We believe the theory has no evidence whatsoever, and the Meek family and Tucker Brown are completely innocent of the baseless and made-up story that Tom Brown killed himself at his house and then someone put him in his car, dumped most of the contents of his car (including the backpack) on Lake Marvin Road. It was ridiculous then, and now, even more ridiculous.

Furthermore, we have now concluded after review post-examination from both teams that this case is considered a “homicide with intent.” This means that Tom was injured and died from his injuries at the hands (s) of another.

As mandated reporters under the Texas Occupations Code, we have forwarded the report to the Texas Attorney General's Office for their review. Furthermore, we have forwarded a copy to the United States Department of Justice - FBI for their review. Again, as mandated by law.
We want to make it clear, the Meek family and Tucker Brown want the report to be released; however, and once again, they are blocked from releasing it to you, the general public, and media by Kelly Brown. The reason we do not know. We believe that the general public and media have the right to know what happened to Tom. Investigators need to find out who killed this bright young man.

We ask the public again – if you know something, say something. This entire matter and the cover-up of the events of that night, as someone killed this young man. He deserves justice. He does not need more made up silly accusations.

KIC Texas wants you to know that we continue to work on the case. We continue to receive tips. We continue to make the promise to Hemphill County and its citizens that we are dedicated to finding out who killed Tom. What we now know is that the suicide theory is debunked. What we also know is that this poor family has been drug through the dirt by those who have no conscience or moral compass. They should be ashamed of themselves. And our team prays it never happens again.

As I recall, Klein claimed to have solved this already - twice. Once he claimed Tom was shot in his truck by a classmate, once it was part of a gambling ring. Does he still stand by these theories?

Kelly Brown doesn’t want anything to do with Klein, and I respect that.

Carefully chosen words - not "the report concludes..."...could it be this examination reached the same conclusion as the first one? Very likely that due to limited amount of remains recovered and the time exposed to the elements that there was no way to determine the actual cause of death. They simply cannot rule out suicide or homicide or accident. But LE (Texas Rangers and OAG) does have evidence that supports their reasons for not believing a homicide occurred.

Public Statement:

The Texas Tech Forensics unit has reported on the Thomas Brown case. By the Rule 11 agreement, Penny Meek (KIC Client) agreed to seal the results of the autopsy. After the results were issued, Penny Meek and her family have requested that the results be released to the General Public. The purpose of the request is that the report will put to bed once and for all the crazy, silly, and most of all, the attempt to impugn the good name of Penny and Chris Meek, and Tucker Brown. We have not released the results other than to the proper authority under the Texas Occupations Code as mandated reporters. Any suggestion of such is another attempt to dirty the waters in this case.
We ask once again for Kelly Brown to allow the release of this report and to apologize to Penny, Chris, and Tucker for suggesting that somehow they were involved in a suicide cover-up. Kelly Brown and his counsel have a copy of the report. They know the results as we know the results. Again, any suggestion that Thomas Brown committed suicide is wrong. Thomas did nothing to himself other than try and be a good citizen, a good student, a good son, and most of all a good steward to his High School.

As this firm was the requestor, the proper authorities in Dallas and Austin have the information. The public must know what happened to Thomas for investigators on all levels to garner leads from the public. We believe that the purpose of the suicide theory was a cover-up of the events that night. We believe the cover-up was poorly done and got out of control. There was only one suicide in this matter, and it was not Thomas Brown.

Again, we urge you, if you know something, say something, and ignore these charlatans who know nothing about this case.

Lastly, we would like to thank the good citizens of Hemphill County who have helped the Meeks and Tucker Brown. Your kind words are wonderful. As well, thank you to the public for your calls and nice words to Mr. Klein this past week during his time in Canadian.
