One dead, several injured after two gunmen open fire on Fort Hood: report

The shooting broke out about 4:30 p.m. and killed at least one person at the military post in Killeen, Texas. As many as eight people may be injured and there may be two shooters involved. One shooter is 'down' while a second is on the loose and believed to be inside the post's Medical Brigade Building, according to reports. The installation is on lockdown.

Injuries reported in shooting on Fort Hood military base

On its Twitter feed and Facebook page, Fort Hood on Wednesday ordered everyone on base to "shelter in place." The 1st Calvary Division, which is based at Fort Hood, sent a Twitter alert telling people on base to close doors and stay away from windows.

All students and personnel at Central Texas College have been ordered to immediately evacuate the central campus. The college has cancelled classes for the rest of the day.
