I don't blame the media. I blame whoever in the Intel community leaked it.

I am afraid you will be disappointed. They will continue to leak like a sieve just like they have done for almost a year now and our MSM will continue to divulge information they know they shouldn't ethically release.

Besides showing the evidence of the bomb and releasing the bomber's name prematurely it was totally disrespectful, and unfeeling to all of the victims who have died and to others fighting for their lives.

All of this leaking has to be highly upsetting to the families who are already overwhelmed by unimaginable grief. I can understand why those in the UK are extremely upset. Many of us feel here feel the exact same way. It seems to only get worse and the leakers are never found accountable for any of their criminal acts.

Releasing the name of the suspect before the UK did could have had dire consequences for those investigating this horrific mass murder. It could have impeded their investigation which was in full force at the time his name was leaked. I knew there was a very good reason for LE there to hold off naming the bomber. And even though they continue to roundup suspects in Manchester we don't know for certain if some of them were able to flee once they knew he had been named publicly by our press.

Very well put. I worked in aerospace and defense for many years, and this is very, very frustrating.

I can only guess but the Aunt may have seen the bomber a second before he detonated the bomb, and instinctively covered her niece with her own body trying to shield her from the bomb blast.

I am not sure what you mean? I don't find this heinous act hard to believe.

What coverage are you speaking of? The UK press or the US press?

I understand, but I blame both. The media knows perfectly well when it is appropriate to suppress information they receive and what should be printed. They have done it in the past, but those ethical days of journalism for the MSM are long gone.

In the DC Sniper case the media knew much more about the two suspects the police were looking for but did the right thing and did not divulge any of that information while the snipers were on the run, and not yet caught.

In general, I find Daily Mail coverage of most things difficult to believe. The closest U.S. equivalent to Daily Mail is probably New York Daily News, imo.

I want to sincerely apologize to our British members for linking the NY Times article earlier, I was trying to keep up with the msm as I always do as it was coming in, and at the time I had not fully understood the full extent of the situation re the leaks; I thought the graphic nature was the main concern which is why I posted no images and put the disclaimer, so very sorry! I was focused on the scientific content and had not read or absorbed every post up to that point!

Manchester health officials have raised the number of wounded in the concert bombing, saying 119 people sought medical treatment at the city's hospitals following the attack.

Jon Rouse of the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership said 64 people were still hospitalized. He said the number of overall wounded was raised Wednesday due to the "walking wounded" who came in hours after the bombing.

Rouse said many of those hospitalized had serious wounds that would require "very long-term care and support in terms of their recovery."

I work in an industry with really high security and it was utterly surreal coming in this morning to see our normal guards replaced by military. We had been told about it, but it still felt weird!

We don't know the identity ATM. I believe the mother and sister were reported to be in Libya but then so was the bomber.
