Agreed. We all have our own opinions based on what we've seen, but ultimately the jury almost certainly have seen a fuller presentation of the evidence than we have, so I trust them to deliver a fair verdict.

Good to see someone talking sense.

I'd be careful if I were you lot - mods will be waking up in the US right about now, and I doubt you want the thread shutting down for the rest of the afternoon.

Nothing you can do about the verdict.
Have a cuppa and chill.

Personally I feel it's a case of trusting The Jury to give the right verdict.. not my verdict or anyone else's..they have heard all the evidence

Sensible input! The arguing is not going to have any impact on the verdict. We should all take a breather and await the jury returning.

Everyone has their own opinion, and everyone should respect that. Disagree respectfully, but don't attack people because they have a differing view.

And don't get the thread shut down at this point.

I think some people may have more background knowledge than others.

Who knows , I think information is out there if you are willing to look for it

I have been “sleuthing” and found bot all but I do not do Facebook so that is probably why.. I have done so as I would like to see the accused for myself although in realty that makes no difference it’s is just my way of trying to form my opinion..

This is such a heinous crime and it is difficult for any “normal” human being to fathom...

I would like to just take a minute to remember Alesha... rest in peace sweet child, I hope justice is served for you baby 🤬🤬🤬

I think im so nervous because

1. I think he’s guilty
2. He says she’s done it
3. One of them definitely did it
4. Only him on trial
5. If he gets off then she won’t be tried

Hey guys, long time lurker on this case, first time poster.
Forgive me if this has already been covered (I haven't been reading as thoroughly today), but one of the journalist's Twitter pages (Frazer Knight I believe) isn't showing any tweets. Anyone know why?Is there anyone else still tweeting updates/where would be the best place to look out for the verdict as it comes out?
Thank you for all the information provided here on this case. It's the first case I've ever followed as it's gone through court, and the different theories and sources you've provided are very interesting.
My heart is with Alesha's family at this time. I really hope they get justice for her, whichever way that comes.

I think that's very objective and eloquently put.

Here's something that I have always wondered...
Does a person who is genuinely guilty of a crime come clean to their defence team and admit they did it but ask for help getting out of it?
Or do they spin a pack of lies to their own defence who probably know that they are lying but are committed to putting up the best case for them?

If a person tells their defence team that they are guilty, then that's the end of it. The Defence cannot provide a defence under those circumstances.

I believe it's more often the latter.

I’m almost positive that it is against the law in Scotland. If you admit guilt to your defence team they aren’t allowed to let you lie knowingly. That being said I’m sure there have been times when this hasn’t been the case.

I know the Jury will be Privy to a lot more info than we are given so although I have questions in my mind (against both sides while trying to stay impartial) I have to trust that the jury may already know the answers to these questions or that they are irrelevant and they can come to the right decision based on all the evidence.

This case is very emotive for all of us here and waiting for a verdict can be tense, so I can't begin to imagine how Aleshas Family are feeling and my thoughts are firmly with them

Let's just stop this now instead of getting in one last dig repeatedly? I don't want the thread shut down at this stage in the game. I want to know what's going on. And, yes, I have seen threads permanently shut down.

I have also seen threads permanently shut.. Nicole Olsen one I was following and did want to follow so totally agree with you xx

Completely agree. We are getting snippets of information via twitter. We do not know what reporting restrictions were put in place in respect to testimony. The jury have sat through all the evidence. They are privy to all the information, not just what is allowed to be reported.

This verdict is not ours to make; our place was to review, discuss, consider. We have all, in our own way, done this. The jury are those who have the final say in the guilt or otherwise of the accused. We all have our own opinions on whether or not we think that the prosecution have proven the case. That is all that we can do.

All IMO
