To be honest I expect more sensationalised stories. They may have twisted this to it being a "disturbing" relationship between AC and the women when all it could have been was him knowing the daughter and visiting the house. IMO
I might be wrong - do we know the age of her daughter?

This is what I mentioned. Links to other abusers. This is a deep rabbit hole. If the media keep digging they will hopefully uncover some deeply sinister stuff on Bute. But hopefully not sensationalism.
I heard a similar rumour (re this friendship) being *allegedly* linked just after AC was arrested...I'm surprised it was a woman though, I was imagining it was going to be a male..

Seems quite a few people have moved to Bute from England in search od a safer environment and not found it. You could be right about the highland dancing daughter.

Yeah. It always seems to be people running away from a supposedly unsafe environment. Maybe it's the other way round and it's unsafe PEOPLE moving away from a perfectly normal environment. If that's the case then it's very unfortunate Bute is attracting these kinds of people.

Playing devil's advocate. Just under two years difference in age between AC and the girl, we don't know what kind - if any, relationship they had and just because she is the daughter of this women it doesn't mean that every connection to the daughter is suspicious. I would more interested in hearing from any girl that AC had a relationship with as to what kind of BF he was and for that matter what kind of friend he was to those close to him.

So I got an e-mail back from scotcourts regarding the trial transcripts and they told me it would cost £500 per day of proceedings, which if my calculations are correct works out at £4500, lol. Ludicrous in my opinion. Let's hope they get posted somewhere.

The police officers were tasked to investigate a ‘dropped’ 999 call, which had been traced to Pollock’s home and had claimed there was a paedophile ring active in Rothesay.

Court: Police attacked by man at Rothesay flat

Jeez oh. If this is accurate, then any young person should never have been allowed by their parent/guardian to go anywhere near this "lady" mentioned in the article. I have said it in a previous post re this person, the judge needed a good shoogle for not putting her in prison re her sordid court case. I often wonder about certain members of the judiciary.

Paedophiles get lenient sentences. Absolute joke. No way should she have been allowed to keep her children. Yeah it's IMO but what is going on.

If AC had managed to get to know Alesha on the sly (without Rab knowing it) through these connections, speaking to her every now and then when he saw her at highland dancing events, being nice to her etc, maybe even telling her that he knew her dad, then it would explain why on the night he abducted her she didn't scream when he appeared in her room...and why Rab didn't think Alesha knew AC and why Toni said if a stranger had come into Alesha's bedroom she thinks the girl would have screamed in fright.

That makes sense. If she was anything like my eldest, who prefers to speak to adults/older kids too much for my liking.

I dunno I'm sure it would've come out by now if AC had been at any of the highland dancing events at the same time as AM....surely someone would've immediately recalled that?

Is there a kind of islander mentality on rothesay? Like new people with no links to people who have always been islanders ?

To start a private conversation go on to someone's profile by clicking their username, then click on the "information" tab, then click on "Start a Conversation" and then you can write your private message to them.

You can add multiple people into the conversation also by adding their names to the "Participant" list and separating them by commas.

You can also go straight to your Inbox and do "Start a New Conversation" and put in the "Participants" names if that suits you better as well.

Where I stay I moved about 11 years ago to this village into a new development there was a lot of mistrust from the village community who had been here for like 100 years .

<modsnip-references removed post> in the middle of town in Rothesay - everyone shops there...you don't need to be 'officially' attending an event to have been there - anyone walking through town doing their shopping would have had the chance to stop, watch and talk to the dancers if they wished. There must have been many other opportunities like this surely. So there would be nothing to tell in regards to him attending these events, just that he happened to be around when they happened, just like lots of other islanders..

Not necessarily, the games are big by the looks of things, and if people were used to him and other kids being around I'm sure it could easily go unnoticed, especially when everyone was in shock at what happened, plus I imagine he was very clever about how he went about all manner of things IMO
