Yeah, he baffles me, wants to appeal his sentence but gives a horrific cold blooded detailed confession where he says he felt totally unconcerned after the murder other than to mildly amused. He doesn’t exactly help himself does he? And this kids supposed to be bright... all I can think is it’s either him wanting more headlines or that it’s his lawyer who’s put it forward to him and he’s agreed, cause surely he knows how he’s acted so far hasn’t helped an appeal case in any way?

I'm sure he was assessed prior to the trial but he denied the crime at that time, so I think it's harder to get an accurate analysis on someone (especially a psychopath) when they do not admit what they have done or when the full extent of their crime is not clear, as they have not explained it in detail. I do think the defence definitely will argue his age though, I'm sure that will be their major talking point.

His lawyer will play on Luke Mitchell’s sentence but remember Luke was 15 when what occurred occurred and everyone of his appeals have been rejected thus far, he even passed a lie detector test, it’s on YouTube. He was given 20 years and there was NO DNA evidence.

No doubt his lawyer is a lot more clued up on the law than me so maybe he'll find something that the ECHR will hear a case about, but I can't see it. He certainly can't appeal his conviction or sentence to them, they don't hear cases like that.

Maybe, but that still wouldn't overturn the conviction. The Bulger killers took a case to the ECHR on the grounds that, among other things, they were too young to understand the proceedings of an adult court. Even though the ECHR found in their favour their conviction still stood, they were just paid several thousand pounds each in compensation.

They were ten though, a 16 year old is going to have a harder time claiming he couldn't understand what was going on in court.

Don't know if it got removed because it was incorrect information though.
